I worked at uhaul many years ago and it is not the customer's responsibility to park a trailer after it has been returned, it is the employee's responsibility! very unimpressed with the personnel at the 28th street and Indian school location in Phoenix.

It was difficult to use, NOT intuitive for the end user, AND cut into my rental time by 20-30 minutes. Why do have to do this online, when you have employees literally steps away from the vehicle?

brian J.I went to this location weeks in Advance....2 days before pick up they change my pick up location to Mesa adding over 2 hours to my trip...I said no....they called 1 day ahead changing my location to Chandler...adding 2 1/2 hours...I was pist big time....I went down to the original location...saw the 5x8 trailer available and reserved pick up the following day......this happened last year...same excuse...will not be returning...

JACQUES M.Checking in was easy, everyone was nice but that's where it stopped. It would have been nice to have the truck loaded with the appliance dolly….you have 3 grown men just chatting it up, one rolls the utility dolly to me and I had to load it alone, no offer to assist, not another customer in sight. I'd like to think if I was an elderly female maybe they would have offered to help but because I'm younger there's no need. The truck was filthy, an empty big soda cup in the back seat. When I returned I pulled into the bay as instructed, the sign reads stay in vehicle and someone will be there to check you out. I waited around 7 minutes and no one comes so I go inside to find the same guys just chatting it up plus 1 more, no customers in line, and one just sitting on his phone by the area closest to the checkin bay. I asked what do I do they said just leave the keys in the car…it was 12:30pm. No customers…I left with a pit in my stomach…what if they damage the vehicle and blame me, I should've forced them to check the vehicle before I left so I was covered. Any who, the thoughts that come to my mind when thinking about the crew that day are lazy, bored, no awareness of customer service, definitely ain't going above and beyond…they actually did the complete opposite. 4 grow men working and not another customer in sight but still had me driving a filthy truck and did not bother to come out to check in the truck(Per your sign). As an HR Manager, I'd be furious if I knew we were paying people to stand around on their cell phones and not help customers. I am aware it's slim pickings out there so finding quality people is hard…maybe focus on quality and not quantity?

Victoria F.The entire "mobile" experience needs to be revamped. There were many instances - both in the beginning and at the end - where the mobile experience didn't carry the weight of U-Haul that it needs to, to carry your customer. Not sure if it's outdated servers, software or what but the times your customer reaches for U-Haul, they don't want to have to attempt an upload or download 3-6 times while waiting for your app to scroll for 5 minutes at every click. Doing so defeats your entire purpose....
Douglas W.All the windows had water spots and the front windshield had dried dead bugs on it and where the van sets is very hard to clean thoroughly. I could only reach certain parts. Also, not ur fault, the side mirrors took me like 20 min to adjust them to feel safe. I couldn't adjust them in the parking spot because u parked ur vehicles way to close together and if I pulled forward I would be blocking the front entrance. I had to drive blinde because I couldn't see out my side mirrors up the street to pull over. This was scary! To put it lightly. The van had black scrapes on the passenger side that were about 2 to 3 foot long. U might want to pressure wash and try different chemicals to get them too look brand new and maybe some Amor-All to take some pride in ur product. Otherwise the vehicle did its job great.

He wasn't helpful, ignored any and all comments, questions or concerns I had and left me standing in the drive with my uhaul without telling me I was cleared to go. I have hesitated to complete the survey because I don't generally leave bad reviews and understand everyone can have an off day. But I had to follow the employee onto the office to ask if I was cleared to go. This particular employee should NOT be working with the public. Between ky experiences both picking up and dropping off my uhaul this trip, I'll be returning to and recommending Penske from here on out.

Barbara C.I was very happy with the customer service at this location. I (with my forever optimistic ideas) planned on having this move completed in four hours. I called Uhaul and changed my return time. That time came and went, as well, in the mean time Uhaul closed for the night. I was feeling so bad about my tardiness, but in the end they negotiated the charges. I felt like they were very reasonable all things considered. Natali Tammy G.Everything was fine at this location it was just the people at corporate that were less then professional. I was trying to rent a 26 ft truck at a location across town. I do this run a few times a month. I was told that there weren't any 26 ft trucks available and I probably wouldn't be able to reserve one when I could clearly see an available 26 ft truck at this location. I then asked to speak with a manager her name was Tish or Trish. After speaking with her about what I saw on Uhaul's web sight she became combative, hostile and indifferent to me being short and terse at the end of our conversation. Well I called the local sight myself made the reservation with them and picked the truck later on having a successful trip. This person should not be a manager and should not be dealing with the public. I am not sure if U haul cares about how some of the workforce deals with the public in a competitive business like this but something like this happened at another location. The staff at the location I picked up this truck were helpful and courteous and I was on my way in quick order. It was just my dealing with the Uhaul corporate manager that made the transaction less then desirable.

I would rather have a full tank and then just refill it before returning to the location. Apart from the that - the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional.

john W.This location has just arbitrarily decided that it no longer wants to offer after-hours pick-up for customers, even though that is still an option during the rental process. I selected an 8:00am pick-up time for this rental, and when I got to the location the app was telling me it was changed to hand-delivery and would not be available for pick-up until they opened at 9:00am. I got no phone call, no email, no communication whatsoever that my rental time was being changed - I rent from uHaul almost every week for my business. Having my pick-up time changed without my knowledge or consent is completely unacceptable. In all honesty, the only reason I continue renting from you is because you are the closest truck rental company to my house. It's a pretty awful experience almost every time I rent, this one just happened to be exceptionally terrible. If you are no longer going to allow after-hours pick-up for customers, it needs to not be an option when a customer schedules a rental. In the meantime, if someone selects a time YOU show as available for pick-up, you need to honor it. I truly don't even understand how your business still functions.
Elisabeth I.The truck had a quarter tank of gas when I picked up. It is much easier to return a vehicle full and not have to estimate the amount needed to return at a quarter tank. Also there was some sort of short in the tail lights causing them to randomly flash on and off when the truck was parked.,

Recommend updating the website to display a 3D graphic showing main point of entry and vehicle or pedestrian access path to storage unit.

While I found the staff to be overall helpful there were a few instances that flat "no" could have been a "maybe". One such example was I arrived early at the facility to get some things out of my storage. This was about 20 minutes before the units were to open (unless you had 24 hour access which I did not). I was told no and had to wait. My only other concern is that I get charged for a lot of little extra things that my current storage offers for free. This is one of the reasons why I left. Value and economy. In times like this its very important.
