I made the reservation online and picked 300 E North Ave, Northlake IL, 60164 as my pick up location. Upon arrival at that location, I found out that it's a gas station that is not a Uhaul dealer. I called the 800 number provided in the email, and spoke to a lady in Indiana that told me I was wrong, it is a deal, that location just does not have a truck the size I requested. There was not a single truck any where around the station and the employee at the station confirmed that is not a Uhaul dealer. After a 5 min argument with that lady, I got the address of a dealer 2 towns over. I arrived at the new Uhaul dealer, and the lady working there was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Even she said the address was a gas station and not a dealer. Overall the Bellwood Uhaul dealer was the best, the 800 number and online reservation site sucks ass and needs to be correctedKevin C.

Great location, however the overall experience was bad. Had a truck rental for 12:30 in Elmhurst. Was told truck was on 25th Avenue in Bellwood. Went there and was td my reservation was at 4:30 pm so had to go to another Bellwood location to pick up a larger truck and pay more.DAVID W.
The check engine light was on from the time I turned on the truck till the time I brought it back. The truck was cleaned but smelled of a previous driver smoking or driving after smoking so I had to keep the window down. They had the truck ready for pick and directions were perfect. The manager, Luis Perez seems like a nice person. Although, the hitch installation was a very incompetent job. I believe he got someone from outside to do the installation/finish-up. The heat shield was removed and the rear belly pan was removed. When I looked under the car, I noticed, on the day of installation that the heat shield was missing and I asked him what they did with it. He told me he didn't want to cut it so totally left it out?????? How is that acceptable? The heat shield is supposed to shield the vehicle from the extremely high temperatures from the muffler and without the heat shield, the components around the car will heat up and potentially even cause the car to catch fire!!! I drive this car with 2 kids and my wife and putting someone's life in danger like this is totally unacceptable!!!! I can't believe I had to "ASK" to get the heat shield back. They didn't even install it for me saying that they had to pull everything apart, but that's not true. Based on the uhaul created youtube video, you only need to cut it and put it back on the vehicle!! Putting people's life at risk like this by not installing the heat shield back is almost criminlal to say the least!!!!! The next part - I had to pay a guy to come install the heat shield for me (and also cut it up to fit). The guy told me that the underbelly pan was missing and the screws atttaching the bumper to the car weren't even in place. When I contacted Luis the next day, he confirmed that he has the rear belly pan and I had to drive in (20 min x2 for both ways) to go get it. They didn't even install it for me again, and I have to now find someone to re-attach it. Why does this experience have to be so bad? All I wanted for, was to get the job done (per the book) and with experienced hands who have done this task many times. This center doesn't seem to have the expertise to undertake a task like this professionally. Their store in general seems fine and the Manager, Luis, seems like a nice guy though. They did have good reviews on the internet and I guess their regular uhaul business (except the hitch installation part) is good. Oh, and also, when I got the car back yesterday, the rear light's wouldnt work because the bulb went off and I had to buy new bulbs for the lights. I'm going to let this pass but it cost me 8$ to buy a new bulb and install it back which adds to the inconvenience with this entire task. How is uhaul going to compensate for the entire above inconvenience and addtional cost I have to go through? 1. Re-install the heat shield (this is already done and I had to pay someone 50$ to do this since I had safety concerns with this. 2. I have to now find someone to re-attach the rear belly pan (including buying screws for the component) - not even sure how much this is going to cost now.... 3. I had to buy bulbs for the rear light (I paid 8$ and self-installed). Mind you, this was in perfectly working condition when I handed the car to the uhaul center. 4. Drive back to the center the next day (40 min drive total) to collect the rear belly pan. Who is going to pay for gas and my time?? 5.I am extremely paranoid now about the safety of the hitch installed. Who is going to pay to get the hitch installation verified to see if it was done per code and it's not going to cause a trailer to come lose and smash into my family while they're in the car? I cannot believe my experience in the nation's leader in hitch installation was so horrible! Please guys, you need to ensure professionals do this job and not someone who is just trying to make a quick buck!!!!!!! People's lives are at risk here!!!!!!!!Ravi D.

Windshield was so dirty it was hard to see in sunlight. Wipers didn't take care of the problem because dirt was on the inside of the windshield. Truck was difficult to control at highway speeds, to the point of it being dangerous at 55 mph. It felt like the front shock absorbers were totally worn out. I rented a 15" truck on Friday, 3/26/2021. I rent once a month, so I know approximately what the cost should be. On Saturday, I called because I had been charged $150.70 for the rental, that should have been about $80.00. I spoke to Dejuan, he said I had been charged for fuel and a dolly. I told him there were two dollies in the truck when I picked it up. I did not request any dollies. I also told him I spend $14.39 to put the gas hand back at 1/4 tank, which is where it was when I picked it up. He was going to speak with Lewis the Manager and call me back. I have not received a return call yet. I am asking for my account to be credited the $64.00 in fuel charges and the $7.00 for dollies. The rental contract number was 24570233.
