Great service with back again
Luqe Z.This location has been very simple to work with since 10/2021. I was able to call and speak with Shane and his staff for any needs. Recently the phones are forwarded to a call center which caused me a great deal of time attempting to make arrangements to pick up the contents of my U-Box. Call center rep stated she would send an email and I would be all set. That never happened and caused a delay upon arriving with a 10ft Uhaul truck I picked up 31 miles out of my route as this was the only option as well. The gentleman working was kind and helpful however very busy on Saturday morning. Fortunately this Augusta Maine location has been exceptional to work with and they are the reason I took my time to share a review. Exceptional workers deserve to be recognized...Thank you Augusta Maine store for an exceptional seamless experience... I appreciate your professionalism.

Brandon M.Staffing of 1 young man seemed inadequate. I had to wait some time (perhaps 10 minutes) to be waited on. He was doing a good job, just he was alone with several customers in at the same time. I reserved and in-town truck. When U-Haul called to confirm, they said I HAD to take a one-way truck because an in-town truck wasn't available. When I checked in, they made it an in-town contract which confused things when I went to return. I got it straightened out over the phone, but the one-way vs. in-town rental being changed twice (once with my knowledge and once without) meant I had to make several calls and wait on the phone several times for help. The one-way vs. in-town should be simpler.
Motte H.Did not receive appliance dolly-he never loaded into truck. Billed for 26 foot when reserved 20 foot. 20 foot not available and we have grave difficulty moving because of limited space.

Daryn M.When I went to pick up the truck the one that was ordered 2 weeks before I needed it, was not the size that I ordered. I never got a call saying that size was not available. The customer service guy behind the desk was an ass. Not once did he get up off his stool or chair. The engine light came on so when I got the truck where I needed it, it never left the spot. When an engine light goes on, you don't move the vehicle. When I returned the truck, I mentioned about the engine light. The worker said, the engine light has been on for over a year. I paid in full when I picked up the truck and when I dropped it off, he was going to charge me again. He even owed me a credit. He didn't want to give me the credit.
Cathy H.I literally drove 13 miles, and you charged me for 4 gallons gas. I myself put 1 gallon. And when I complain about it, they said there much they could do. Horrible experience.
Niro S.I have never rented from here before without having to wait a while for service. The Uhaul app was "supposed" to allow me to skip the wait/counter but the app wouldn't even load when I got to that point in the pick up so I was forced to go to the counter and then wait inside anyway. Incredibly annoying. Staff was fine and got me checked out but the explanation of "yeah the app doesn't always work right on the first try but then it does later" is unhelpful. Knowing the app is going to suck when I need it is not going to make me want to use this service again. Also, I wasn't told to check the link I was auto sent in a text before I left the site with the truck. I'm not a slave to my phone so I didn't see the text until later. Assuming I know to check these texts when I'm busy with the process of a move is poor customer service. Giving me partial information is also poor customer service. Hopefully this is the last time I'll ever need to use the Augusta ME location because I have never had a good experience there.
Cheryl C.Truck front windshield was dirty inside and out I had to stop and clean. Very rough ride when going over the smallest bump and small pot hole it felt like tires was coming off. Power steering was whinnying every time you turned, Truck didn't seem well maintained.

Robert D.When asking questions staff didn't really know the answer so went to the person who I thought was in charge and he did give some advice and some things he told us were untrue about moving Dolly's and blankets. I later found out that the truck he gave me to use was a blue key and them come with nothing.. unfortunately we had to find one to load everything. Other then that very satisfied.

Roger L.Forklift operator who loaded the UBox onto the trailer punctured the door of the UBox. The blade also punctured a box inside containing $2000 stereo speakers. Thankfully the speakers were not damaged, but the margin was literally 1 inch. I strongly recommend placing valuables toward the center of the box with less precious cargo near the walls.

Beatrice L.When returning the truck the sign says to wait and someone will come and finish the return. I sat in the truck for 20 minutes and tried to call the front desk. Could not reach anyone so I went into the store no one was busy they said just leave the key in the truck I'm all set!? I wish they told me that when I first rented the truck!

Brian W.I rented a 6x12 trailer to go one way from Maine to upstate New York 4 months ago for $ 139.00 I rented the same trailer this weekend to return home and it cost me $ 635.00. I will not be renting from uhaul again.
RICHARD G.Sadly at my home drop off location the person working (2 present on location; 1 worker and 1 in pajamas talking and following the worker assuming boyfriend/girlfriend) It was clear the employee was bothered by my drop off. He began undertaking cause of why drop off should not happen at this location, then in harsh manner inspected trailer then pushed the trailer with metal on ground. It was the rudest welcome home and very out of place and unwarranted. Please do better.

Josette F.I had a confirmation to pick up a car dolly at the Brunswick Maine U-Haul location for 3/17/22. On the night of 3/16/20 I received a phone call that they were making me drive an hour north to pick up the dolly that was dropped off in Augusta Maine. This is absolutely ridiculous, I had to drive an hour in the wrong direction. I am a nurse and was supposed to go to work after I used this and instead had to call out. The person I spoke with on the phone told me there wasn't a single car dolly anywhere in the hour and a half I was driving south at any U-Haul locations which I know was a lie because I called myself. So basically, they made me drive to Augusta to pick up someone else's car dolly so that I will drop it off in Lisbon after I used it not even the Brunswick location. I cannot even believe this is some thing that would happen. The person was rude on the phone and told me she deals with this all the time. What kind of business is this? Even the kid I dropped it off to in Lisbon couldn't understand why they made me do this. And I can tell you why because they wanted someone to pick it up and bring it to Lisbon. Again, I'm a nurse, dealing with unbelievable stuff right now in the hospital and I can't believe that this happened. What an awful business plan and what awful people. To say to me “do you want it or not, if you don't drive to Augusta then you don't get a car dolly†Who would say that to someone? I would like a return phone call by someone who can talk to me about why this just happened and I would like my money back to cover the gas I had to pay for. What about the gas money it cost me to go pick this up? $4.20 a gallon right now in my truck probably cost me $40! That was two hours of driving I was not expecting to do in my truck. Also, just for the record, and I told the gentleman at the Lisbon Maine location when I dropped it off, the person who put it on my truck barely even looked at me or the dolly and the dolly slings were so rusted I couldn't get them off the car tires afterwards I needed to use a prybar with a mechanic. Maybe once in a while someone grease fittings? God, what an awful experience.

I had garbage and cup holders full of water and a terrible experience and your employees told me it was my fault for not checking out my equipment??? Really! Horrible customer service or better yet No customer service!

Why would a company provide a customer with such reference numbers if you have no way to research with them, gives your customers and future customers a false sense of trust in company that refuses to stand by their word and then refuses to help a customer when they are being told they are rude for inquiring. I'm allowed to be frustrated that my confirmed reservation was cancelled and charges from UHaul on my debit card could not be located and refused to give the merchandise purchased without the researched receipt. Bad customer service for such a high priced storage unit. Let's hope the rest of my interactions through out this process improve.

Recently rented a climate controlled storage unit from them and it was also a great experience. They keep the building clean and secure. Very customer oriented company.

We thought sweet okay for that price that's great.... come to find out it was actually 10 times smaller than that and we needed to utilize 2 units instead of just one!( thank fully staff on was able to help work out a deal for this false information and took the first month of of the second one so we had a 2 for 1 month deal, but all we had was a couch a bed Frame( in peices), a box spring, and a few loose items, these took up 90% of both units " half the size of a two car garage!" Not!, and the late fees are ridiculous one day late and you charge $20 for a "delinquent Fee" I appreciate the storage availability.. but again the prices, lies, and late fees are what took had us move out!

I repeatedly changed my address and left a credit card but never was charged as expected. The store locked my storage unit and would not reply to my messages until corporate got involved. I know times are hard but this was ridiculous. So happy to be done with this mess.

First, she took my initial phone call, answered all my questions and made me feel comforted in having to handle a last-minute, unplanned move of my college student due to coronavirus. Then when I arrived from NJ the next day, her smiling face met me and she again calmly explained everything and got me set up. This is my first time renting storage; she was patient, helpful and didn't rush me. Then I made three trips to the facility in the next 24 hours. I was impressed with the cleanliness, the access to carts, the security, etc. I can't say enough about how Heather went above and beyond and how all the little things she did added up to reducing my stress in a time when I greatly appreciated it. Also, thanks for the one-month free for displaced college students. I thought that was a very classy and empathetic move by UHaul. You earned my business and Heather is the reason you'll keep my business.
