When I picked up, it seemed like a lot of people had not done an on-line reservation because their time at "check in" was 2-3 times longer than mine. Check-in experience was perfect, no hiccups or issues and the representative was very cheerful. Check-out/Drop off experience was the worst! - the website/app stayed on Error while dropping the vehicle and was unable to process my return tasks. My movers forgot 04 moving blankets as I missed checking the rear part of the Truck and it was completely dark & cold, which were neatly folded after the unload and to my surprise I was charged a $25 cleaning fee + taxes just to remove this out from the truck. the staff member was training and check in had lots of errors and took a long time, she constantly had to ask someone else for help. you should have someone shadowing her for better customer experience. also i filled up more gas then i left, and it took 20 minutes to get this fixed and get a $10.50 refund.....todd T.

It was an ordeal me and my wife has experienced for the first time in the early morning of Nov. 30th. After we pulled in to the gas station at around 3:30 a.m., to fill up on our way to Whitby, the truck would not start. It was cold and I probably tried to start it for over 30 times till my fingers got sored. We waited for another vehicle to pull in to request to boost the truck, and that did not happen till 1 hr. later. Luckily the good samaritan helped us and we were so relieved as it was really cold. I will never forget this ordeal. I remember, when I picked up the car, it did not start and tried it several times, I went back to the counter to notify the attendant, however she was already with another client. Another associate helped me start, she did, and she said it's a hard start, she even described to me how it hurt her fingers. Obviously the truck has battery issue, but they let me drive anyways. Please have the truck or all your trucks checked their batteries to avoid the same experience happening to the next client. Although this happened, I will still continue renting equipments from U Haul. Hopefully next time I do, it will be a good experience.RODELCANLAS D.

My reservation pick up was changed 10km away. No car, you paid $20 toward a $30 uber. No dollies. it was a one way reservation made 60 days in advance. If I did not call 5 or 6 times I would not have had a truck. Truck was not clean 80k miles, wheel balance issues, poor steering, worn our truck. Gave me extra miles thank you. Date changed to add a day but was changed back. Gave ne an extra day thank you. All in, this was a very time consuming rental on my part. Not easy. Not what I expected lots of little problems. Will not rent again. Will find another vendor even if the quoted price is higherPeter S.

I tried to use the self check-out for the truck that I had reserved online. The picture of the lockbox that was shown looked like it was behind a truck but the actual lockbox was on a wall. The code I was given for the lockbox was not even the correct code. I was freezing outside trying to figure out how to get my car and calling your tech support who tried their best but eventually told me to wait until 7 a.m. when the site opened up. When I went in and told them the code was not working, I was told to try a different code which did not work either. The employee there tried both the codes and he could not get the lockbox opened either. Eventually they gave me a spare key, rechecked me in and gave me a different vehicle. This was my first time trying the self-checkout option and it was horrible experience. Not sure if the issue is only at this site or all U-Haul sites. The check-in was simple and easy. I booked my u-haul from a different location which guaranteed the truck. However, after reaching there the guy said he did not have any. This wasted my time and increased my per kilo charge now, as I had to pick up a truck which was 8.5km away from my place. For Open Trailers, make sure the customer knows whether the trailer has a Ramp Tailgate or not. I was given a trailer with a ramp tailgate that stuck up above the back of the trailer, but for my purposes, I needed a trailer with NO ramp tailgate. I had to go back in and get another trailer assigned to me. Explaining the coding on trailers to customers, would help.LINDAJ C.

I did an app pick up at 7:30 am from 2246 Birchmount Road when I got there the app said the store opens at 9 am and you cannot do an app pickup. I had to call the 1 800 number to change to another location. i lost over 1.5 hours and had to pay extra for the reserved elevator. Even when i got to the Warden location I had to go thru the whole process again (the operator had said all info was transferred). What if I had walked to pick up the van ? Why do you allow for app pick up when there isn't one at a specific location. I will never trust the app pick up anymore.Aniz N.

The experience overall is subpar. The location is ok the web experience is lousy. The hidden costs of renting are only coming up at the store. Charging for milage then requesting also fuel top up to pickup volume is actually double charge. In April it was cheaper to rent from Uhaul than Home Depot. I think now it's different. Then there are useless questions to be asked. If DL existing in Custer profile, why do you need to upload for every rental? Should be enough to be seen by clerk. You also don't need emergency contact info from the customer. The van had windows so dirty with soot and grime cooked in the glass that the glare produced was becoming dangerous. I reported that when I returned the vehicle. uhaul shouldn't have to get such feedback from customers. Employees should be educated to check things like that. Lousy experience.ILIEOVIDIU M.
The dolly I have asked wasn't inside the van. I also wasn't aware that I should have to share 2 contacts that were called at the time I was picking the van (4:30 AM!!!). Workers were on bad mood and I couldn't discuss about the dolly not present to get my money back from it. I booked a 26ft truck 8 weeks before my move at 9am for a pick up. I got there for 9 am o November 15 to be told my truck had been cancelled because I wasn't there for 7 am. I'm not stupid. I booked the truck from 9 because I have the elevator at 10. I booked it 8 weeks in advance and they still fucked me. I had to cause a damn scene just to get my van.. There's 2 days you don't fuck with a guy. On his wedding day. And when he's moving. I had booked a Uhaul in Ajax, on the same day when I went to get the truck they had given it away. My son called the Warden location and they were wonderful. They found a truck, but my move was delayed a day extra, because of the Ajax location not providing the truck. Moving is stressful as is. Still upset with the ajax location on Anderson St. I should be reimbursed for having to pay an extra day.MERI R.

Access to the outside unit is good. Unit very spacious. But outside area is not well lit at night. I had to keep my car headlights on to see what I was doing. Not clear on how security is maintained at night. No security gates. Had a problem with a default lock that was sold to. The keys would not open it and got stuck. They took a few days to resolve the issue and wanted to double charge me for a new one. I opted to move my stuff to another non-Uhaul facility as this one I found to be not only overpriced but also not maintained well. My boxes were damp and right from my first day there I had a terrible time trying to close the locker door (I also had two friends attempt to close it and both struggled as well). Additionally, every time I opened the door or shut it a bunch of sawdust (our what I believe to be sawdust would fall on me).
