Used mobile phone to complete my rental. Was instructed to proceed directly to clerk without waiting in line to get key to my truck Clerk rudely told me I would have to wait until she had checked out a woman approaching the counter to buy boxes. Was not trying to cut the line. Just followed instructions.

The person who checked me out was serving two other people at the same time and didn’t answer my questions correctly which lead to me misunderstanding what time I had to return the equipment. I ended up getting a late fee because of the confusion.

The staff was not welcoming at all. They woman that checked me out did not speak clear she mumbled and didn’t explain the process to me. She even took a personal phone call while helping me. I thought that was very rude as I was in a hurry to start moving due to the bad weather. She did not explain the drop off situation well just follow the directions on website. The truck was not inspected with a worker and myself before leaving the lot. The man drove the truck up to me handed me the keys and began to walk away. I asked if I was done and could leave. He told me yes just check the odometer and gas level to make sure it was what was on paperwork. I couldn’t believe it! When returning the truck after hours I had to take pictures and let uhaul know where it was parked for the next customers. So much accommodating I had to do, but did not get the same service upfront for myself as a customer. the trucks engine light and low tire light was on the entire time. I had no choice to use the truck I was told that was the only one available. The weather in Kenner that day was horrible. I have videos of this as well if you would like to see. Very scary situation. I’ve dealt with Uhaul on North Causeway in Metairie several times and they where always professional, very helpful and made sure I understood. They inspected the truck with a check off list I had to mark the dents, scratches and any damage prior leaving. The employee there shows you how to operate the truck. Lights windshield wipers etc. then asked if I had questions. That’s the way a business should be run.

I needed to extend my lease by a few days and U-Haul was very accommodating and at a reasonable price. The drop off was very smooth - quick and easy. Friendly gentlemen helped take care of everything. All in all, a terrific experience using U-Haul! Keep up the great work!

I don't typically write reviews but this was not good service from start to finish. Part 1.) I showed up and waited in line for 30 minutes which is fine, then when it was my turn we started the paper work for a trailer rental, she said I needed my license plate number, so I went outside to get it to come back to her helping someone else. So I waited more then finally got my papers to get my trailer. Part 2.) I had to go outside and ask three people who could help me. Then the guy finally showed up, and he was looking all around for a trailer. Then he found one in the back of all the trucks/trailer, he cursed in front of my 3 year old and said that d*** B*** I am not getting the f**ing trailer behind all this s***. (I am not joking he said that). Then he went inside for 15 minutes to change the paper work to another trailer. It took me one hour to get the trailer, and not because they were very busy. Part 3.) Dropping it off I showed up at 5:01 one minute after the store closed, the woman was locking the door as I walked up. I understand I was late but come on how about some work ethic. She looked at me through the window and said sorry we are closed. Thankfully Uhaul has an online drop off method to return things, but she could have just mentioned that and told us to do it that way. We just happened to find it when we were looking for another location to drop off. This location is close to my house, but I will never use it again.

make sure you have patience. They had a long line and the front counter staff had you go out to find someone on the yard to find your truck. Took two people in the yard to help me get going and no one went over the truck or any details. You were pretty much left on you own. Not a location I would recommend for first time renters

I had a serious problem with the gas recording process. I brought the truck back with the same, actually a little more gas than there was in the unit when I first rented it. I had to wait in line for 30+ minutes to get the previous picture from the previous rental return to prove I was right. This location tried to charge me $14 for what they thought was 2-3 dollars of gas. When they pulled the picture up from the previous turn in they realized I was right and returned my 14$. They level was recorded incorrectly from previous renter.

I want to thank the staff today for their help in getting me a truck. My reservation was cancelled because I was late (and U-Haul, you did NOT tell me this was a possibility...this compliment is not for anyone in corporate). I asked to speak with the manager, and he "pulled a rabbit out of a hat" and got me my requested vehicle. Thank you redhead hippie boss and the lady with the pretty green eyes :)

Never ever. The service at the drop off location was horrible. The manager at Tulane ave location is rude disrespectful and very unprofessional. I called the location owner 5 times and never responded. Then I found out the he listed me on no rent list. I am so disappointed.... I rented from Uhaul more than 20 times.its the first time I hear of a business that allow employees the disrespect the clients.

Had two storage Vance reserved with two separate drivers for each. When I went to pick up my van they had incorrect info on me reservation. The AC was not working at the facility making it unpleasant for customers and workers. Not enough workers, took too long to check out, eventough the workers were going as fast as they could.

When I got there and couldn’t find my truck I asked a worker for assistance and he told me that the truck must’ve been gone and he didn’t know what to tell me. When I told him I made a reservation 5 days prior and this is the truck they told me to look for he said well you’ll just have to go inside and figure it out. The line inside was out the door and took an hour to go through. Nothing about the experience was fast or efficient, which was frustrating because I chose the self service option for that reason. Once we finally got all checked in with a truck that was actually available we went to get the keys and they couldn’t even find the keys.

There needs to be communication between CORPORATE and the local stores. I waited well over three hours to speak to a manager regarding the charges that were on my account. They lady who called me, Stacy, on the day that "my rental was to be due" was rude and unprofessional. She kept talking me and just wasnt pleasant to speak with at all. Id only go to this place again if I simply HAD TO. On the other hand, Scott was great. He made my visit somewhat pleasing and peaceful with his jokes and funny demeanor.

UHaul has terrible technology that is outdated and inefficient. The computers are slow, there are no scanners to input product data, and employees must enter everything manually. Because of this wait times to buy boxes can exceed 30 minutes.

Horrible experience. I signed up for "self pickup" via mobile phone for 8 am. Was unable to login and kept getting error message that I had to wait until 9 am when uhaul was open. The representative was the one of the rudest reps I've ever experienced anywhere. She snapped at me several times, The entire place was so poorly organized and a cluster with truck keys left in a cardboard box which took the staff several minutes to dig through. The parking lot was overly crowded and the man who showed me my truck said, "I doubt we'll able to get your truck backed out." I will never use uhaul again, nor will I recommend them. There are too many other competitors that get better ratings.

The counter representative, Brook-Lynn, should not be working in customer service. She has a poor attitude, terrible social skills, and is quite unfriendly. Terrible image for U-haul and terrible experience for customers. I reserved my U-haul via mobile, and I still ended up waiting 30+ minutes for my rental. None of the employees there seem to be familiar with the mobile rental system. They were making me “complete” steps I’ve already done through my phone, completely wasting my time and making the mobile booking void of saving any time. While the reservation in my phone told me verbatim to skip the line, go to the side of the counter, and show the screen to get my key, Brook-Lyn ignored me, asked who I was, said she doesn’t know me, I don’t need to wave my phone in her face, and get in line with everyone else. Mind you, the lobby is full of about 10 different customers all annoyed and waiting because they’re saying they’re in busy season, but no one in the place was moving with any haste or care. They were yelling at customers throughout the lobby, and were all quite unprofessional. Once I got up to the counter, she checked my I.D., once more wasting my time as I’d already done this during my mobile rental, she with the biggest attitude, gave me my key and said nothing else but mhmm yeah and yeah and ok sarcastically once I told her that this was all a terrible experience. She simply doesn’t care at all. I took the key and got into my rental, then was stopped again by a different u-haul representative to tell me they usually back the trucks up for us, and to ask to see my contract for the rental. I told her I did everything via mobile, this was all a complete waste of my time, and no one wants to communicate with customers around here so I didn’t know that. The lady inside doesn’t want to be any help. She said ok, rolled her eyes, and walked off, letting me take my rental finally after about 45 minutes. I will NEVER return to this U-Haul location, or use U-haul again if I can help it. Something that should’ve been uncomplicated and simple became a disastrous experience and overall disappointment.

The staff was vey cordial and helpful. The outside seemed under staffed and seemed to only have one person who was struggling to keep up with bringing out equipment and the return of equipment. He did work tirelessly but he clearly needed more support. Also, my original rental unit, a trailer, had a light not working, requiring me to have the contract redone - which with the line of customers inside, took quite a long time. But, as I said, the staff was very helpful and apologetic at the long wait due to the initial trailer having a light out.

Passenger side rear outer tire was flat when they gave me the truck. It was not obvious bc the inner duel was holding all of the weight. I added air to the tire after loading the truck and during my trip. Suspect slow leak. All other tires were spot on proper pressure so when they checked the tires I’m sure it was full but then leaked out. Tire needs to be repaired in this vehicle.

The person who installed the tow dolly for our car admitted he had never installed one of those before which made us pretty nervous the whole drive. Everything was okay in the end. Except for a chain getting a bit loose a few min before we arrived to our new home and was throwing sparks. But we ended up making it safe and sound

They need to tell there customers where and how to get the dolly they pay for, have check out clerks check to make sure they got it. By the time I finished the transaction I forgot about the dolly & expected to have someone give it to me. Had to circle back - lost 30 mins of my day/almost missed my flight.

Too slow. After signing the contract, the Customer was told to go outside and find someone to assist. I felt like i was chasing and bothering employees. Once an employee was located, he instructed me where to place my vehicle for hook up. Which took 5 seconds. The customer waited approximately 30 minutes for the employee to return. After realizing how much wasted time passed, the customer was forced to ask another employee for assistance. The last employee was very helpful.

I paid for three utility dollies and one furniture dolly and none of them were in the truck (I did not open up the back until I left the lot, assuming those things would be in there already). When I returned the truck, I explained to the person what happened. She apologized for the error. I explained that instead of asking for a refund on the missing equipment, I did not fuel up the tank. I used less than a quarter tank. The person checking me in said that was fine and I would not be charged for fuel. When I received my emailed receipt later that day, I saw that I was charged for the fuel. Please refund me $28 for the dollies that were not included. The employee who was suppose to be taking care of my pick up was rude and not communicative. I tried to ask which model van we were getting and she snapped at me saying that they are the same size. That may be true but one model has slightly higher cargo space, which I know for a fact from experience, which is what we needed. She then proceeded to check me out with no communication. I was left standing there, not knowing that the key was in the van, while she helped other customers. She then fussed at me for standing there, and told me to go get the van outside. I asked why she had such an attitude with me and she fussed at me for accusing her of having an attitude. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, and I was born, raised and live in New Orleans. Sometimes customer service isn't the greatest...this was completely uncalled for and hateful. I will try not to ever go back if I can help it.

Your app needs a little tweaking. I was able to find the vehicle with no problem. The next step however only told I could retrieve the key at BT1563 or some other random six character number. There was no detail about it being another vehicle on the lot. Then when I tried to explain this to the counter agent, she, though demonstrating some semblance of professionalism, seemed a bit put off by my not knowing how to locate the key. I felt like I was given the same respect given to another U-Haul employee who should've known better. Long story longer, improve your descriptive details in the app, please.

I was very dissatisfied with this experienced. I showed up with a 2 day (48 hour) reservation in hand and was told that it was not available and I could only have my reserved truck for 24 hours. Although the box of the truck was clean the outside was covered in scratches and dents (more than the occasional scuff) that had not been addressed. The fuel was also not filled to the designated amount. Ultimately, my experience was very unsatisfactory and I will not be using your company moving forward and I will not be recommending you company either. I hope that UHaul will work to improve moving forward but it is my responsibility to share this experience with my contacts to ensure they are not let down in the same way I was.

The service here was impeccable, and everyone was incredibly helpful. However, the system said that there was a van available at a reservation time and when we arrived, there were none on site. They need to match what is on the website with what is in inventory at each site.

Staff remained calm and cool under these pressures. Comment concerning what can be improved: please provide the staff with working computers so they can complete the jobs timely. I specifically went back the the counter after getting the keys and letting the agents know the gas tank was on the last quarter and not half as they indicated to me on paperwork before going out. A gentleman went to the truck ,verified and took pictures with his device. Now on my bill I got in my email after returning the truck I have a fuel sales charge of $32.50...I will be contacting corporate as well as the property Manager. I’m disgusted that I have to go back and speak to the manager after bringing up the issue when I called in and they Offered no further assistance in which they are the ones who processed the incorrect transaction!

While trying to rent this trailer [5×8] over the phone l talked to three different customer representative. Each representative gave me a different price. This made no sense to me. When I went to the store i got a fourth price, which was the best price. SMH... Other than that, my experience with Uhaul good. The sales lady at the Tulane Rd store was very helpful.

The location is probably one of the better stocked locations in the area. But I hate going there because it takes too long to complete your business. There's always a long line, an insufficient amount of staff to assist, insufficiently trained staff, and the staff almost always has attitude problems. They ABSOLUTELY need to do better. As for recommending them...I wouldn't if there was another location CLOSER.

Get more people to help out on Saturday mornings. I had a 45 minute wait and I had a reservation. I got there 30 minutes early and still had a long wait. There was only one employee checking people in. Plus, there were 3 people in line in front of me who did NOT have reservations. Reservations should come first, always. Period. Also, none of the links provided to me via text message worked. "Page not found" errors were the result of clicking on the links. I rented from this same facility 6 months ago and had the same issue then, not enough people helping and a very long wait. And that was a weekday morning.

Customer service is key. That skinny young lady w/ the crazy nails at the desk who assisted me - her attitude was horrible. I mean piss poor!!! She's not professional and was mean to everyone I observed her assist while I was there. She didn't go over anything or provide any details on anything. I am a frequent customer but I WILL NOT be visiting Tulane Ave location ever again. Just rude.

Corporate trainers or regional bosses, some one high up and not associated with the people currently working at this location need to intervene and help this location. I rent from there once a month. It’s always bad. They don’t tell you where your truck as I watch people walk around and randomly try their keys in different vans and trucks until they find the one it works in. They continually charge your card for days afterwards telling you that you haven’t returned a vehicle but you actually returned it with the manager because when he returned it and they said you were taking it 940 miles and you owe them a tank of gas when you actually only been 13 miles and well 13 miles than use much gas. They’re extremely rude always rude treat you like your asking for their only food when actually you just want to check in the people outside to you have to be able to people inside people inside I have to deal with people outside it’s horrible I am not a disgruntled customer saying this I thought this for years and just dealt with it because it’s close to my house And it’s the only location in town that always has what I need. The only way to describe it is complete and total apathy and I hate for the customers

It took me almost an hour to check in. I had reservation online with self check in and was less than an hour late and it had been cancelled. I stood at counter for over 30 minutes before being helped and then sat there For 15 after being helped and everyone walked away. I tried calling to let them know I was going to be late and no one answered.

I arrived after the store was closed, but the door was still unlocked so I went in to talk to the attendant because the app wasn't working properly and I was worried I wouldn't be able to pick up the uhaul. I was rudely told by another attendant that the store was closed. Eventually the app started working and I was able to find the truck, despite the bad directions given in the app. At some point the same rude attendant started shouting "ma'am" at me, but by the time I realized she was yelling at me from across the parking lot I saw her wave her hand dismissively and walk away. Apparently what ever she was shouting about was unimportant. Later, when I returned the vehicle the app restarted three times while I was going through the process of trying to make the return. Eventually I contacted a representative through the chat function, and was told to take pictures of the fuel gage and odometer and leave the keys in the truck. The next day, I get an email from uHaul with a lost key fee. Apparently they don't have spare keys to their trucks (wtf?) so they had to break into the cab to get the keys. I told them I'm not paying that fee, and haven't heard anything since. I appreciate the attempt at upgrading your system - it was desperately needed, but the app does not work and I'd rather deal with your idiot employees than be frustrated by tech that doesn't work and be charged $65 because of it.

Well to began with when I called to make the appointment for the trailer hitch installation on my vehicle this was Tuesday 3/19/19 . I was talking with the associate of the local store. The lady I was talking to told me that a wiring part was not available and that I was going to have to pay an express shipping fee to have it there by Thursday.. I told her that I had to talk to my hubby and I would call back. So the lady tells me that they are going to hold off then from ordering it because a credit card is required...we hang up.. now about 30mins I call back after talking to my hubby . So I call back now Im talking to a man that sets the appointment and takes my credit card number for express delivery. The appointment was set for 7am on a Thursday . I get to the store and the woman working says to me,what she can help me with. I tell her that I have an appointment for a trailer hitch installation for 7am and she laughts and say I don't understand how if the person that does that doesn't come in until 9 or 10 am. So she tells me just leave it and we'll call you when its ready... I asked her before I leave it if she can check to see if they received the part... Now she is looking for this express part that I paid for which is no where to be found. So she gets on the phone and calls James. Now James is the so called manager and the person that does the hitch installation. The part is not there and they are going to see if they can get it from another location .I tell the lady I'm not leaving my car and that I want a refund for this so called express charge now At this point I'm hot and ready to go so I tell her to tell James to call me. I get home and at 9:50 am James calls and tells me if I can bring my car back. I'm like no sir I have to be to work at 10am which I'm right across the str. From work. So he is talking and that he is going to try to locate the wiring from another store and that he wants to make this right. Which I told him if he would have been there at the time the appointment was set then it would have been right. We are almost done with this horrible experience. Now James tell me to bring it back fri,sat or even sunday which is impossible for me. We come to the agreement for monday when I am off and I asked him when is it more convenient for him and he tells me 8am... ok 8am! Great I'll see you then. Now its Monday 7:50 and no James once again I'm told he doesn't get there until 9 or 10 am because he uses the city bus to get there.... Omg...Now I'm running out of time and patients. Once again I ask the lady Ruth to check to see if they have the parts and this time they do... ok I'm leaving my car and she says she'll call when they are done...ok now here it is almost 3pm and I called them to see if by any chance my car is ready.. The associated tells me that James has been working outside for a while and she was going to check with him and call me back..ok...we hang up... about 15mins later she calls and tells me that my car is

Truck had a badly damaged bumper, scratches, cracked front bumper and other damage we documented on the sheet provided prior to leaving the Tulane lot in New Orleans . I took photographs of the damage in the Uhaul lot and advised the attendant. The attendant was not interested at all in our concerns. When we got to the drop off point they charged me for the damage.

I rented a car hauler. The chains were WAY too long. I had to stop twice along my trip to adjust and retaliated them. They were dragging the ground , because the rubber pice that keeps them from coming undone were not included. And they did not have them at the Uhaul when I stopped for help

The "young lady" in the office need an attitude adjustment. She is very short tempered if you ask any questions. The service is rather slow... do to a shortage in staffing I was told. Overall the service is not too bad just slow; so pack your patience. They could be a little kinder to the customer. The equipment was very ample; very clean.

The location opened late. All prior customers in line were helped by two reps. Once they got to me the woman that started...she looked in charge just stopped and went to do something else. Not until I asked about my long wait did the other young woman assist me. I was there over 45 minutes for a pick up. When I addressed the gas not being correct on ticket the woman in charge was dismissive stating they’d adjust and send in email. That was never done or received. I’m a manager of a business where I work directly with the owner. This service would not be tolerated. But I think that’s the experience Uhaul wants and doesn’t care.
