The app is terrible, It got stuck as I tried to help. The people at the desk had to redo everything. Even though I had put all the information you needed before checking in. Also, the van I received still had a low tire pressure reading. They should also have a shaded place at the location near the trucks for people trying to get the truck online. Assuming the app works. The glare didn't help.

The truck was old. It’s had a lot wrong with it which I pointed out with pictures when I dropped off so it would not come back on me. The truck was not swept out and was gas was almost empty when I got it.

pretty easy to do over the phone app. Lots of trucks at this location to choose from. Friendly staff. The parking lot for returns is pretty chaotic but the job got done. :-)

The truck was fine however I had to check at the desk three times regarding the rental because they did not provide the key for the lock then they did not provide the equipment dolley which was a major problem. Then there was an e check in problem. I was there for 30 minutes despite checking in online and left without accessories

The staff at this location were terrific; friendly and helpful. When received, the trailer was dirty inside (I needed to sweep out trash, peanuts, etc.). In addition, the railings on the inside were broken and/or missing, so there was nothing to tie the contents to, in order to stabilize it during the journey. As a result, everything shifted around during transit and ultimately interfered with the door's operation when it came time to open it. I'd recommend this location of the basis of its large inventory and good staff, not the condition of the trailer.

This location is very busy. I recommend checking out online. This way we don't have to wait in line or on the phone. The staff is excellent, but waiting in line can be frustrating.

This location always provides outstanding customer service.. From the beginning at the counter, where you signed the paperwork to the hook up/ return in the back of the store. no complaints whatsoever other than the parking lot is too small but nothing they can do about that. I have been renting here for years.!! A++++ Thank You!

Also the online ordering at https://www.uhaul.com/Reservations/RatesTrucks/ gives you far away sites for pickup- system bug. . U-Haul Moving & Storage at Randolph Rd – Available - Only appears after you select LOCATION (for Rockville) . Rockville was not enough to list it. The fees seemed to be nearly double what was seen online. There should be a clear sign that return vans are deposited in the back.lot. Staff friendly.

After making a reservation online, I attempted to pick-up my cargo van rental through the Uhaul App. As a precaution, I also stayed in line at the center to obtain the keys by an employee. After completing all the information on the App for pick-up, I received a notice saying my approval is pending. The approval was still pending once I got in front an employee. I told him I had been working through the App to get the keys and approval was pending. He indicated that I would have had to come in anyways to get the keys. Not sure why Uhaul would promote the App so heavily if you still need to wait inline to get the keys. Despite this hiccup, my interaction with the Uhaul employee was easy, and I got the keys and went on my way.

I was given a truck with a broken mirror that twisted backwards every time the wind blew so while driving on the highway, I had to stay in the right lane because I couldn’t see to get in the left lane without sticking my hand out the window to turn the mirror around so I can see that was the worst experience.

Staff was really nice and efficient. They handled my contract in a timely manner and the vehicle was clean and very good on gas, which saved money in the end. The price was very reasonable and there were no hidden charges or extra fees. Everything was really straight-forward. Somehow, the moving helpers that I scheduled online fell through, and there were people on site readily available to assist me. I had 1 guy single-handedly help me move everything out of my storage unit, and he said that Uhaul has been great for him to find steady work, so it was a win-win for all.

U-Haul is very uncaring and not helpful to the persons moving their belongings. My daughter had to unexpectedly move out of her apartment in Boston and U-Haul could not guarantee a truck for us to use. I spent hours on the phone locating a truck outside Boston requiring us to pay for transportation to pick it up. We then had to drive back to Boston to collect her belongings and drive to Maryland. We went over the mileage because of this extra travel and we’re charged one dollar per mile penalty. Being a Veteran I was hoping that U-Haul would credit back this $40 charge which we would not have incurred if the truck were available in Boston. Unfortunately U-Haul does not care about the customers circumstances or particular life struggles. They exist to make as much money as they can. No wonder they have limited trucks when you want one. I even had an extra 1/4 of gas in the tank when it was dropped off.

I rented a 15' truck 9 days ahead of a move date, but when I arrived at the Spencerville location at 7:30 am my U-Haul app told me that no equipment had been assigned. I called and had to wait 30 minutes standing outside to be told that apparently the scheduled truck had not been returned, and that I would have to go to a second location to pick up a truck. I was also told that they would take $50 off of my billing. Arriving at the second location on Randolph Road, I found the truck, but was not given a key code (and indeed told after another 15 minutes on hold that that location only gives out keys inside starting at 10 am). I had two people on the hour that I was paying, so being informed that I would have to go to a third location, but that they would decrease my mileage to $0.99 was hardly compensation. At the third location on Parklawn I had to wait in line for 30 minutes before a truck was assigned to me, but it had a broken right hand review mirror, which made it very dangerous to drive through Washington D.C. with all of the traffic and congestion, plus the Parklawn location had only 15 minute parking and we had to take a second vehicle into the city. In the end we were late returning due to all of the delays, and one of my workers missed a wedding reception because of this. U-Haul failed me horribly.

Terrible customer service at the Parklawn Drive, Rockville location. The guy who helped me, he seemed like he didn’t want to help me. He was lazy and not helpful at all. First, he gave me a car that was filthy and had several dents on it. Then, he gave me a truck number that was not even in the parking lot. Then he made me wait for a long time to go help me locate the truck that he had assigned to me because I couldn’t find it. Just a horrible experience!! Never going back there again! And I would not recommend anyone to go there !

Drop-off was difficult. No staff around that could direct me to where to go. I ended up in the labyrinth of storage lockers, finally got back out and had to go around the building to the rental section. Long line. I finally asked about droppping off, and they just waved, oh, leave the key on the counter. The van was fine and clean, no complaints. But I wanted to alert them to the fact that one brake light in the rear was not working. There was nobody who could take that feedback.

Despite booking online, I had to wait in line for an hour to go through all the same procedures and questions to pick up the truck. The store had broken equipment, unreliable systems, was out of furniture pads and dollies, and the only indication that they had no customer parking was a tiny one line statement on one of the emails I got so I had to get rides to and from. The truck itself had tire pressure warning sensors on and a badly corroded steering wheel. It was parked on a steep incline without the parking brake engaged and I was given the wrong contract initially.

This location is always busy but NEVER has a manager on site during peak times Fri-Sun. They change the rules all the time. NOT EVERYBODY HAS A CREDIT CARD. JUST BELIEVE IT. A DEBT CARD SHOULD BE JUST FINE TO RENT. Parklawn & Randolph Rd location always has the longest lines. Can't keep people on staff and they ALWAYS hire young lazy smart mouth incompetent kids.

It took me one hour and 15 minutes from walking in the door to driving away in a truck. they only had two people working on the desk with 15 people in line and One attendant helped TWO people in 45 minutes.😳. After about 40 minutes, they got two more people on the desk. I was finally assigned a truck after 55 minutes and I had to walk to the back of building to get it, but then they couldn’t find the keys to that truck, told me it was another truck, and then it was yet another truck that they had to un bury. Ridiculous today. And I had to pay my moving crew for 45 minutes as they waited for me.

Add customer parking or at least clearly indicate that there is no customer parking at that location - meaning customers can not leave their vehicles on site for more than 15 minutes . Other than that I had no issues . The guy at the front desk was helpful and gave practical advice regarding parking .

I arrived and checked out a vehicle at the desk. I went to back of building to get the vehicle. The vehicle was not there. I returned to desk and waited in line again to learn that after checking out the vehicle to me, another service representative immediately checked the vehicle back in & it was given to someone else. It took over 45 minutes for the representatives to fix the computer so i could be given another van. Each check out required payment so my credit card 3 days later is still being charged twice. Additionally, on the u haul app, even though that first vehicle i never confirmed in the back lot the mileage, license plate, and condition, it atill showed i had that vehicle as well. The issue was reported and they have yet to reconcile their errors.i

I paid for a utility dolly and didn’t receive it which greatly messed my moving plans, called the store to assure I wouldn’t be accused of keeping it but no answer after 7 calls. Reserved online as well as online check in, yet still had to give lady at the counter all of the same info all over again, which once again greatly messed up my schedule. Not to mention the price in store upon my pick up was around $45 more than the price I was shown on the website upon reserving. The lady at the counter even confused herself with the total and initially tried to charge me $160 instead of $82, yet the online price I was given was around $37.

My reservation was automatically changed to this location. It was out of the way, but not a big deal. Until I arrived and they told me they don't have one way van rentals available and that I would need to take a truck. I specifically ordered a van because I cannot drive a truck on parkways in NY. They continued to insist that there was no van available and that I would need to take a truck. But I continued to insist for 30 minutes that I needed a van to get to my location. Magically, after insisting that they had no one way vans, they found a van for me. But they couldn't find the key for another 20 minutes. Eventually, they did find it, but by then I was almost an hour late to my next location due to having to go out of the way, and their fake policy about one way vans.

The truck had a defective light console and the tire light immediately went on after driving off the lot because of low tire pressure. Also, the tires were muddy and filthy. And the right side mirror could not be adjusted. When we went to return the truck, the return lot was full and spilling over into the street. And the customer parking entrance was blocked so no one could return their truck there. Tried to call the U-Haul number and was told it might be answered in 20 minutes at which time I would miss my return slot.

Dear Uhaul Customer Service, I am writing this email to express my extreme disappointment and extreme frustration with the recent Uhaul truck rental and storage experience I had. To say that it was a terror of an experience would be an understatement. I have encountered numerous issues that have left me feeling frustrated, inconvenienced, and even stranded. To begin with, one of the most basic services I paid for, moving blankets, was not provided to me. This lack of attention to detail is unacceptable, especially considering that I specifically paid for them. This already set a negative tone for my experience with Uhaul. Furthermore, when I tried to resolve the issue of my drop-off location, I had to speak to several customer service agents who were not only unhelpful but also rude. Their lack of professionalism and unwillingness to assist in finding a solution only added to my growing frustration. As if these problems weren't enough, I was then quoted the wrong price when I went to retrieve my storage unit. This discrepancy caused unnecessary confusion and wasted my time, as I had to go through the process of trying to correct the quoted price, which also had no resolve. The situation worsened when, after the store closed, my passcode to enter the storage facility did not work, and it still hasn't been resolved even after 24 hours. This left me unable to access my belongings and caused significant inconvenience and distress. To make matters worse, someone blocked me in with another Uhaul truck, preventing me from moving the remaining furniture and forcing me to sleep in my car. Neither Uhaul nor myself were able to get in touch with the property manager to resolve this issue promptly. This lack of responsiveness and assistance is simply unacceptable. I must also mention that I spoke to numerous customer service agents and even the customer service manager, who demonstrated a lack of knowledge on how to resolve any of the issues I faced. This further added to my frustration and disappointment. To add to the misery of the situation, Uhaul connected me to roadside assistance and attempted to make me pay out of pocket to have the Uhaul truck, which had blocked me into the storage parking lot, removed. This is yet another example of Uhaul's negligence and failure to take responsibility for the problems caused. In summary, nothing got resolved, and it was a domino effect of bad events as a result of Uhaul's negligence and poor service. This entire experience has been a nightmare, and I demand a prompt resolution to all the issues I have outlined.

I had the most unfortunate experience of loosing my job and had to put my stuff in storage..The staff at the storage made me experience there very wonderful. The manager worked me everytime i need some form of assistance and even afforded me the opportunity to remove my stuff with a settlement before they were placed on oction. Upon the day of my move-in May 31, 2023, I arrived with movers and had know access to the unit after being told that the access pad would be working. What a terrible position I was in with the moving company. They were surprised as well as myself. Because of the excess number of trucks, the staff were parking at the storage area loading dock, blocking our ability to back up to the customer loading dock. This was very inconvenient increasing the chances accidents and causing us to move the carts around were the trucks were parked and being moved around. This is also Liability issue for U-Haul. This is unacceptable. Many times customers were parking their cars away from the loading dock. This wasn’t as much a problem in November but got worse in December.

Only thing that I would recommend is to put an advisory sign at entrance point of lockers that say no piggybacking into the building because that happened to me and that is a security issue to people unloading there items into the building from there vehicles.

It has been a really good experience. I was abroad feeling that all my belongings were safe and in good hands. The air conditioning/ climate control was so good! My only recommendation would concern mice. My effects were not damaged but were full of mice carcasses and droppings. Thank you.

Was charged for a storage when I had in my reservation to get 30 days free since I had a one way. In addition, there is a sign out by a major road displaying, one month free how can I be charged? It's a special too. He never apologized he didn't explain who I am getting my money back, no apology nothing. I wanted a larger unit he just said there were none. I think he said it because the line was getting longer and he did not want to look which...he didn't. And on top I received a very strained up unit. Poor service he provided. Don't have his name at this time.

I did not realize that they do not prorate use days. moving out experience was bad. i called, left several messages and no one called me back. Had I known we were not going to receive reimbursement for the remaining 20 days we would have moved out later. Terrible communication.

The unit was infested with mice. When I gathered my furniture to move out it was covered in mouse droppings and urine. When I raised the issue with the attendant he said there was nothing they could do and said they were not responsible. Clearly there were issues pre-existing as I see there are traps everywhere. Very disappointed

Staff need to be retrained or replaced because they are very curt, and don’t know how to speak to customers in a respectful or welcoming manner. The wait at the counter was two long in both instances and they kept walking away without acknowledging me or explaining why I was left standing there. I was assigned a unit with a used/smeared sticky trap in it, which made me very concerned about rodents. To enter the loading dock I have to enter my code on both keypads but consistently there’s a problem; my code works perfectly on the first keypad, then I’m denied access on the second one. The parking at the loading dock there is a disaster; it’s frustrating, chaotic and dangerous. I’m glad about the air conditioning; that’s it. Negative experience overall.

I could rarely find a parking space in the back of the building where you load in and unload things from storage. Al the spaces where often used to park large U.-Haul trucks which made it very difficult to particularly load or unload heavy boxes or larger items. Parking on the loading and unloading docks should be reserved for your customers who use your storage. That problem was very often very frustrating.
