When I walked in one young lady greeted me but she directed me to check in with her colleague who didn't look up from her phone when I approached the desk. I stood there for about 5 seconds then she asked for my last name and phone number to pull up my reservation. The young lady then told me your reservation was canceled due to it being 1pm and my reservation was at 10am. Be the whole time she was talking above a whisper and looking at her phone I had to walk out before I gave her the same energy she was giving me. Shortly after my boyfriend came in and the girl that initially greeted me was up and ready to assist but lacked that energy and customer service when I came in. Overall the location and parking is terrible, staff lacks professionalism and ultimately would never rent from them again unless it the last option which in this case it was. The manager is beyond rude and the staff is the same way. I waited in line for an hour before I ever got the van I rented. I lost money with my movers because the staff didn't care to help the one lady who was working the desk. The lady finally called for back up and two people showed up still very rude. Quite simple I was first charged $211 though I signed for $89 and took 12 extra hours with the van. The van was returned in perfect condition and the next day I was charged another $400 (total of $611). I had to fight to get my money back, each employee ruder than the lady and When I finally get the receipt is shows an incorrect total ($567 paid) so not all of my fraudulently taken funds were accounted for. Clearly y'all have an employee stealing from your customers since about $50 of the fraudulently taken funds have not been returned and are entirely unaccounted for in the total paid (my bank sure kept track). All in all my experience with a truck for under 24 hours has been so stressful and left me without money that is still locked between banks and hasn't returned to my account at exactly when I could not afford to loose an extra $300. Best believe I will NEVER use your services again and surely never suggest someone else give your clearly crooked company a fucking dime.William H.

No one notified me that my U-Haul pickup location was changed. I showed up at the original place I booked, only to find that the location changed. This cost me about 40 minutes of extra time, which cut heavily into a mover shift (a 2 hour shift) that I paid for. I decided to not let the movers stay over time since they didn't do anything wrong, and personally moved a bunch of boxes myself for hours afterwards. This was extremely stressful and unprofessional. The customer service at the Piedmont location was also quite unpleasant: the two female employees at the counter were apathetic -- I felt like I was walking into a tombstone upon entering the location.Eric W.
When we picked up the trailer at this location in Atlanta and it was attached to our UHAUL installed hitch, we knew it was sitting to low but we are NOT the experts. However, throughout our drive we smelt burning and felt it was way too low and unsafe. Upon dropping it off, THAT WAS CONFIRMED BY A UHAUL EMPLOYEE who literally said "thank god you made it safe". Absolutely ludicrous that a company would send clients on their way with unsafe equipment. I will gladly pay more at any alternative company than EVER utilize UHAUL again.Sylvain L.

Customer parking. The business areas of this location are well kept, the back and right side areas really need to be cleaned up. These are the areas where customers park (due to very limited parking) but are also where homeless people camp out. These areas seriously need cleaning.CHRISTOPHER B.

I have used U-Haul services many other times, from various other locations. They have all been very good. This experience, however, was by far, the worst I could have imagined. My storage reservation specifically stated a climate-controlled unit, but I was given a non-climate control unit. I was never informed before hand or even during the check-in. I called back several times wanting to speak to the manager, Trell, but was given excuses that she was not available and rudely dismissed. That reservation with a Rent-Now promotion would have provided me a free lock, but told I needed to pay, and so I was charged unnecessarily. By the way, I rented a cargo van in the process. The worst part was yet to come, one month later, when I came to pull my contents out. Again, I reserved a cargo van. Pick up was noon on Saturday. I flew into Atlanta, and was running late due to an issue with the rental vehicle at the airport. I arrived at the Piedmont location at 12:45, and told that my reservation had been cancelled. There should have been a courtesy call asking, but nothing, not even considering that I had an active storage unit rented there. Staff was rude, and pushed me off to the Peachtree location where that reservation was close to not being honored, if not for my pleading. When I came back with a truck rented elsewhere, I asked to rent a hand truck dolly, and again not allowed, even though there were 6 of them available and the store was going to close in 3 hours. Again, I asked to speak to Trell, again I was denied. Staft and management were just so unprofessional. This was the absolute worst experience.German G. | Overall Experience

The representatives there had no experience with the hitch. They advised me to drive my BMW up the trailer which damaged my car. They then told me they didn't have the proper equipment to get my car up the trailer. I then went to two auto stores with someone else's car to try to find something to use. I ended up going to a Home Depot and purchasing four pieces of wood and two sandbags to drive over since my car was stuck on the ramp. When I asked if Uhaul would cover the damage since they (the two representatives) were the one the guided my vehicle up the ramp and clearly saw it was too low to fit, I was told I don't think we will cover that type of car.Jamiah P.
People waited 60-90 minutes to pick up equipment and while we were in line, our reservations were cancelled. The manager on duty said that if you were 15 minutes late, you were automatically cancelled. That is absurd! People were sent to other locations or we had to redo our reservations IF a truck was available. The manager was on the phone, complaining to someone about not having time to eat breakfast and being too busy. It was a ridiculous situation and one that needs to be addressed by a regional manager. When asked for her business card and her manager's number by one of the upset customers, she stated, â€œI am the manager and I don't have any cards.â€ Wow! She must feel very secure in her job, but she shouldn't. There is an opportunity for a manager to do some real and meaningful training with this person to help her understand her role as a customer service representative. I had reserved and gone through the process online to pick up the truck via remote device. Arrived at the location, worked through the process only to have it "time out" as I was uploading documents and the reservation cancelled! I then had to call, wait for a representitive to re-instate my reservation then had to stand in a long line at the actual facility to eventually get the vehicle. The location was understaffed and disorganized. The â€œsystemsâ€ were down, and I had to wait almost an hour after my reservation time. The most frustrating part was that I had signed up for truckshare to bypass the lines, but I had no way of accessing the truck because it was behind secure gates. I received no code to enter, and the person at the desk was too overwhelmed to even ask. By the time I reached the counter after waiting in line, she was not very nice even though I empathized with her lack of control over the situation. I was also charged $10 for the CDW even though I had declined in my online reservation. My truck was also not clean on the inside. Not a great experience today.David G.

I went to pick up the van and the dolly. They didn't have any dollys, so I asked if I could be refunded for it, and the women behind the counter said sure. I dropped the van back off and asked again if I will be refunded and the women said YES! I got my receipt and I was not refunded. I got locked in on one instance because I wasn't told any time limitations. When I cleared my storage unit, the employee on duty was made aware before she hurriedly left for the day and told me she would deactivate my access that day. But never made a note in the system. This date was before my free 30 days was up, I called to schedule the walk through the day before my 30 days and was told I couldn't proceed with the walk through until I paid mY outstanding balance. I was approved for this site as a drop off. When I got there I was told I could not drop it off because they were full. The person was very rude and left me in the parking lot when I said that I was approved. She did not return. I called U haul and service rep and talked to them, however, they put me on hold and then hung up on me. Called again and received a very rude rep who said Atlanta was not her service area and she could not assist. Called back and it was after 7:00. I had no other option then to do on line check out and leave truck where I was approved to do so. I have used uhaul for many years and have NEVER had such a horrible experience.Diane P.

My experience with the staff here was horrible. Upon completing my transaction and given the keys with no instruction as to how to find my truck on a lot of many trucks and told â€œyou can go now.â€ So after physically trying the keys on 5 different trucks that did not work I went back in to tell the staff. When I did so, the staff then became rude when I simply stated to have your customer go search all the trucks is unacceptable and why did you not provide any instructions? Turned out the truck was on a complexly different side of the facility which was gated and of which I had to be let into. When I tried to discuss this further with the manager she just walked away from me- completely walked away. I expressed how rude and disappointing this was - to have a manager who should be helping solve and diffuse just walk away and yell back that I'm being a problem. This situation occurred Thursday July 28th between 5:30 -6pm est. I don't know if you can identify the two women working during this time at this location, but I hope so. They were terrible and very rude. I will not be back here and hope these ladies are corrected on treating people this way.Jordan J.

I had to wait around to get my key because the store was locked. The hours said it opened at 7am. I arrived at 7:30am because that was the time on my reservation. I finally saw an employee in the back around the storage and signaled for her to come help me get a key. She was pretty rude. She did not speak or acknowledge me and when I asked her if I could get my key, her response was â€œyou'll have to waitâ€. Trell was awesome. The only problem I had is the parking area to leave your car so you can use the uhaul. As a single female, I was nervous walking up the alley as there were men hanging around. Not sure if they were homeless or on drugs but one was rolling around on the ground. It didn't feel safe for me to walk up there. I know you have no control over who hangs around but maybe if the cars were able to park in the gated parking area for a certain amount of time.Teresa B.
Overall - My experience at this location was very poor as follows: 1. When I arrived at 7 am to pick up my vehicle (as per my reservation), the door was locked and no one showed up until 7:40 am). When they arrived they did not apologize for being late. 2. I picked up the vehicle close to 8 am but she still wanted me to bring it back at 11 am even though I had a 4 hour reservation! We compromised at 11:30 but I felt that I should not be charged the full amount if I did not have the vehicle for 4 hours. 3. When I had pre-reserved the vehicle online, I also reserved 2 furniture dollies. However, at pickup they said they only could provide me 1 dolly. 4. Overall, this location just appears to be a poorly managed location and I will not be returning nor recommending this location to prospective customers.Ludlow W.
My issue was simple. I was getting calls after I dropped off the vehicle hours afterwards, accusing me of not bringing the vehicle back. Finally, the next morning after receiving another call saying they had that vehicle reserved for someone else, I called and wanted to talk with the manager. I was explaining to her that I did, and to check the cameras. I returned the vehicle before 2pm. She said, don't worry about it, we figured it our. But I never should of had that issue before, when I actually went inside and handed the girl behind the counter the keys. The whole day was a wreck anyways leading up and afterwards, but I will say this. They were polite and never made a threat, just told me to bring it back, even though I already did. Maybe, if I would of answered my phone the first time, this would of been a non issue, but I didn't recognize the phone, so I was shocked when I was told they didn't have the vehicle. Anyways, I would not recommend this place, as they don't have good accountability in place. I never should have been called.Rodney W.

I was blatantly ignored when I walked in and had to ask multiple times to get answers to questions or to get help. I have never seen worse customer service at a Uhaul than at this location. When I was trying to rent a truck to move out of the storage facility, the staff was nowhere to be found for more than 2 hours after opening time (maybe longer). I made the mistake of trying to rent a cargo van using the self-service process. I had to visit the counter no fewer than three times on one of their busiest days: once to figure out where to get the van assigned to me because most of them are locked up behind the gate, once to get the keys, and another time I was stopped and asked to sign the rental agreement even though I had completed it online. You can actually open the store at the time that you have advertised, not more than an hour late. People use Uhaul for moving and other logistics/operations that are on a schedule. When you're not on time, you can completely disrupt a whole day of plans. Especially when people make reservations for the first hour of the morning, but that hour is spent waiting around for a rude employee to actually open the doors.Raul H.

Also, a man tried to tell me that I had his storage unit (I told him he had to take it up with the office) even though he already had access to another storage unit and a mini office. When I arrived for rental pickup, the lot was so jammed In with trucks and trailers, I had to park in another lot and walk back to UHAUL location for my reservation. The Atlanta location manager Trell Benjamin, was extraordinarily rude, disrespectful, slow and unhelpful. I have rented many UHAUL trucks and trailers over the years and from this location with good experience. Apparently, this UHAUL location now provides their vehicles with nearly a empty gas tank â€¦ this location requires you to pay for gasoline in advance in order to rent a truck - in addition to the advertised rental rate! My experience today was abominable. The truck was dirty with a check engine light; brake pad light and low tire pressure warnings lit up on the dash. I alerted this manager to these issues â€¦. and was instructed to call â€œ Roadside Assistanceâ€ if the truck broke down!!!! Absolutely ridiculous. No way to run a business.JAMES M.

I had rented a furniture dolly online with my truck. After I picked up the truck, I discovered no furniture dolly was included. I was then told that this location hasn't had furniture dollies for the last year, and that my online order was simply a "request". I believe it's outrageous not to be alerted to the fact your requested furniture dolly is not provided when you pick up the truck, and for a location to have no furniture dollies at all. My move was made a lot harder because of this. Not to mention the complete disinterest at assisting me when picking up the truck. Overall, super crappy customer service!Stefanos O.
The equipment I reserved ahead of time and had calls with Uhaul representatives ahead of time to ensure it was available was, in fact, not available for me when I showed up at the appointed time. Don't take reservations for equipment if you can't guarantee it will be there! The woman in line in front of me had the same problem too. I did the online checkout so I wouldn't have to stand in line to deal with your SLOW employees but at the end when I have to go in to get the keys and I could "skip the line and get your keys" this was a lie! You literally had 2 girls at the front 1 on the phone dealing with a customer that kept going in circles and the 2nd girl: Bianca Pollard just standing there on her phone and she says she couldn't help me by handing me the keys and I had to wait on the one on the phone. I stood there for over 10 mins while the one on the phone with a customer kept going in circles about not being able to waiver fees she finally put them on hold so she could hand me the keys. Why couldn't the other girl (Bianca Pollard) do that? You're literally paying somone to stand around doing NOTHING while she plays on her phone. Get better help! Also why am I paying a cleaning fee when the truck was dirty when I picked it up? I put in the check out that it was dirty and have photos to prove it!Jason K.

The gas was not half when I received the truck, the truck was dirty, I was missing a dolly that I ordered. Sadly I was in a time crunch and had to take the truck so I could meet scheduled aggressive upon engagement. I then was also prayed upon by an employee who tried to swindle money out of me by lieing and saying if I didn't turn the truck in by a certain time I would be charged an additional almost 200.00. Lastly I called and was approached very rudely by the office attendant who literally uttered so you are just going to keep calling this office huh. The office staff is very rude and unprofessional FaceTiming in the middle of speaking to you very short and abrupt. I've used this location for years and it seems management must have changed for the worst! I'm completely disgusted and flabbergasted of the schemes, unprofessional environment.Andrew B.

The storage areas were easily accessible and clean. The carts were useful , but some had bad wheels and did not work well. When I arrived she couldn’t find my reservation and I asked her did she need my reservation number she said she couldn’t look that so eventually she found it only to tell me they had nothing available I threatened to call customer service because I drove all the way from Cumming then she made a phone call and I sat and until she did every move out just to find me a unit that was somewhat comparable but I ended up with a non climate controlled unit on the fifth floor very dissatisfied with my experience because it set me back I was in the location at least an hour with a line of customers behind and it also resulted in me having to extend my truck rental an additional day because both places where I reserved through uhaul dropped the ball putting my day off schedule and incurring extra costMolly B. | First Impressions
Advertised as 24-hour storage but was not the case upon arrival. Representative in the phone was not helpful and coerced me into getting a unit that she insinuated was the same as the one I had reserved, turns out it was a wine unit. The gate code did not work so when I came back the next day and discovered the situation with the wine unit I tried to explain to the manager that I already had a drive up unit reserved and he stated that because it was a few minutes after 6 he couldn't help me so I'm on day 3 of sorting this out. Trell really helped me in this inflation being a single human with no kids i have been forced to do the unthinkable... I couldn't not renew my lease because I don't make 3 times the rent and I needed a place to store my things while I stay in airbnb till I find a better living arrangement... when I got in 10 minutes before close and I know workers want to go home but that was the only available Reservation I could find.. Trell had no attitude, she helped 3ppl and me all at the same time, never once was she overwhelmed she worked well under the pressure... and again very informative on the company!PADEN W. | First Impressions
I was given the wrong address online and it wasn't open when I arrived during the hours of operation, then they gave me the correct address but the first unit they gave me a unit too small after I told them I needed a bigger size. They then gave me a bigger unit but it had stuff in it so I had to wait for it to be cleaned before we can put our stuff in....When asked for compensation i was looked at as if I was crazy! No dollies available at the storage facility. Staff claims they are on "back order", implying that there has been an extended period of time during which they were unavailable (due to being stolen). I moved to Atlanta,GA from New York City/tri-state area. I booked my storage unit in March and arrived to ATL in July. When scheduling my truck and storage unit in March, the automated e-Mail from the U-Haul company did not contain any move in information, only truck return by date. Because I did not move in by a specific date expected by the company, my storage unit was canceled by the company. Kiera came to my rescue and corrected the company mistake. Kierra found my requested storage unit and I moved in on the day I requested. Kierra was very understanding of my traveling situation and accommodated my needs and expectations. The company of U-Haul is below satisfactory but Kierra fixed an issue that should not have been existent. Beware with using the U-Haul company. My reservation for a 10x20 unit was not honored I had called repeatedly and visited in person week prior to confirm all- yet I arrived w movers and was told not available. There was one 10x15 available. After exploring I took it. I did not have any choice at that point. It's ceiling has a rip w insulation hanging and no lightbulb. I was told no more lightbulbs in units and they would put in work order for ceiling- but now we have all our items stacked in the unit so don't see how they can repair. It should have been fully repaired before move in allowed. My customer service contacts were very nice and very helpful but their capacity to deliver service seemed compromised by your system. There was only one service person there as well. You really need to better support your employees to deliver better customer service Also the back gate broken.Sheila M. | First Impressions

There were 5 other people moving in and out of the same building my storage unit was in which made the process take much longer. I originally was supposed to be at a different storage unit and it was not until I arrived at the storage unit I reserved that I was told there were no units available. There is not enough driving room at this storage place. I've had multiple conversations with Kierra Arnold about my unit being closed, with me being in another state, I have to do over the phone/online. I closed it online on March 1, 2021 and she continued to send letters, emails, and phone calls when I stated the unit was closed and she also had possession of my keys for the unit. It is now May 6, 2021 and I'm just now received from her end my unit is fully closed out when it should have already been done. I'm sure other U-Haul storages are not this bad or difficult to deal with but I will always let everyone know never to use this storage place in Buckhead as it's been a huge headache.Elizabeth G. | Overall Experience
