I moved to Atlanta,GA from New York City/tri-state area. I booked my storage unit in March and arrived to ATL in July. When scheduling my truck and storage unit in March, the automated e-Mail from the U-Haul company did not contain any move in information, only truck return by date. Because I did not move in by a specific date expected by the company, my storage unit was canceled by the company. Kiera came to my rescue and corrected the company mistake. Kierra found my requested storage unit and I moved in on the day I requested. Kierra was very understanding of my traveling situation and accommodated my needs and expectations. The company of U-Haul is below satisfactory but Kierra fixed an issue that should not have been existent. Beware with using the U-Haul company. My reservation for a 10x20 unit was not honored I had called repeatedly and visited in person week prior to confirm all- yet I arrived w movers and was told not available. There was one 10x15 available. After exploring I took it. I did not have any choice at that point. It's ceiling has a rip w insulation hanging and no lightbulb. I was told no more lightbulbs in units and they would put in work order for ceiling- but now we have all our items stacked in the unit so don't see how they can repair. It should have been fully repaired before move in allowed. My customer service contacts were very nice and very helpful but their capacity to deliver service seemed compromised by your system. There was only one service person there as well. You really need to better support your employees to deliver better customer service Also the back gate broken.Sheila M. | First Impressions

The service at this location was terrible. The two women at the front desk seemed pleasant, but were holding their own conversation the entire time they were checking me in. No one provided return procedures or made me aware of the process to verify the condition of the vehicle prior to me driving off. I made a very straight forward in town move of a few boxes to my relatives to later find that I was charged a cleanup fee and accused of leaving the truck filled with debris and dirt. I called to get clarity on the situation and the associate who answered the phone was extremely rude and condescending. She accused me of leaving the truck filthy and seemed annoyed that I â€œparked the truck in the wrong drop off locationâ€ even though no one actually provided drop off instructions. I shared with her that I did see some minor debris prior to leaving the facility, but nothing that seemed alarming. Rather than listening, she proceeded to tell me over and over that I should have responded to the text message (that I was not looking out for or expecting to receive) to verify the condition of the vehicle. I shared with her that I would have happily done so if someone had made me aware of the process. She then proceeded to say that â€œshe knows that the other associate told me about the verification process because she always doesâ€ even though she was not present to witness if the other associate did in fact describe the process. I then asked to speak with a manager and to receive the photos she stated she had of the alleged debris that I left behind and she put me on hold a couple of times then ultimately left me on hold and never returned to our call. Even though the initial associates I spoke with seemed a little distracted by their own conversation, I still felt like my initial experience was smooth and pleasant only to find that because they were distracted, I didn't have relevant procedures described to me that could have ultimately improved my customer experience. My primary issue is with the rude individual who answered the phone when I called back to inquire about the charge and I will never be a customer of this location again as a result of her lack of customer service.Donald W.

I have contacted UHaul customer service regarding an absolutely ridiculous $20 "outside hours" fee. Apparently it's a "new policy" that has started, conveniently, after the pandemic affected your company. I was NOT told of this new policy (I wonder why) when I rented. I was also NOT given the option of returning the equipment during business hours. I was told I had to have it back by 6AM, again, conveniently outside of business hours just so you can make $20 off of me when you had literally at least 7 identical trucks available. There were 5 other people moving in and out of the same building my storage unit was in which made the process take much longer. I originally was supposed to be at a different storage unit and it was not until I arrived at the storage unit I reserved that I was told there were no units available. Again, this was not the location I wanted. Uhaul made my pick up and drop-off experience absolutely miserable. I reserved a storage unit at a different location, once I got there and was ready to move in my stuff, I was told they only had a 5x5 available...I reserved a 10X13. I then had to be on hold with Uhaul for over 30 minutes before driving 20 minutes to a different storage unit. There is not enough driving room at this storage place. I've had multiple conversations with Kierra Arnold about my unit being closed, with me being in another state, I have to do over the phone/online. I closed it online on March 1, 2021 and she continued to send letters, emails, and phone calls when I stated the unit was closed and she also had possession of my keys for the unit. It is now May 6, 2021 and I'm just now received from her end my unit is fully closed out when it should have already been done. I'm sure other U-Haul storages are not this bad or difficult to deal with but I will always let everyone know never to use this storage place in Buckhead as it's been a huge headache.Elizabeth G. | Overall Experience

The store that I went to opened at 9 am. The woman that worked in the location I went to did not open the office until 9:20am. She did not say good morning. Had a clear attitude. When I did get the keys to my vehicle and was told where it was, I found out that that vehicle was not mine. We then had to locate my vehicle. By the time I was out of the facility with my van it was 9:40. I lost 40 minutes of the time that I paid for and received terrible service. I will not work with U-Haul again.JAZMINE D.
The extra $20 service charge when returning after hours was not explained. The requirement to use the same cell phone with the registered phone number when returning after hours was not explained. The frustrating time trying multiple times to check in the truck at 1am after a tiring day of moving could have been avoided. I rented a truck for 34 hours and was charged for 3 days. I was also charged a $20 fee for drop off. I asked the clerk what I needed to do when I dropped it off and did exactly as I was told! I called this location yesterday and explained that I was overcharged for the rental and Jesse greed with that but said I could not get my $20 back for the drop off fee - he said I did not complete the check in and I explained that I did exactly what I was told to do. He said he would have the manager - Trail - call me and she never did and I still have not received my refund! I had a reservation for Sunday, April 18. Apparently the Uhaul servers went down and I could not rent my reserved equipment. This was a super inconvenience because I had to be out of my apartment by monday and I still had to go to work monday. I was able to get a van on monday and very desperately move out before I was kicked out. I was surprised I still had to pay full price despite all of the unnecessary stress it took to make sure I had my stuff out. I also never got the furniture dolly I reserved. I had paid a team to also help move and lost money there. Overall I am very displeased with amount of stress I had to deal with. The icing on the cake was when i went to return the van after hours, the app didnt work and wouldnt let me set the location, so I couldnt officially return it and had to drive back to Uhaul the next morning.CHRISTOPHER Z.

The first U-haul we got had a hole in the roof which I sent a picture to u-haul's roadside assistance service. It was pouring rain so our furniture got wet because the rain was pouring into the truck through the hole (3 inches). It started raining after we put our furniture into the truck. We were told roadside assistance would bring another truck. Then after 1 hr they told us we had to go pick up another u-haul truck which was smaller. We had to unload our furniture off of the 1st truck back into our apartment and reload it on to the 2nd truck after we got it and because we were behind we missed the utility people and couldn't get our gas turned on, then leasing at the apartments we were moving into spent another hr trying to talk the gas company to come back because they weren't suppose to let us take the apartment without the utilities being turned on the same day. Then u-haul charged us for another day because we couldn't get the truck back in time. This was the worst U-haul experience I have ever had. I don't feel like we should have been charged for another day due to the inadequacy of the u-haul branch we dealt with. The truck that was damaged shouldn't have even been in service for anyone to use. I use to be a truck driver, aren't these trucks suppose to be inspected and serviced? The handle to change gears was so loose it was ridiculous. I feel like I should not have been charged for another day. We only had to move our furniture 4.3 miles from where we lived. It should have costed us half of what we paid. It was u-hauls fault I was late because this certain branch had a truck they issued to me with a hole in the roof which backed up my other appointments I already had set up. I was suppose to sign my new lease at 9:00 a.m. which was backed up because I was waiting for another u-haul truck and then the leasing company wasn't suppose to let us have the apartment because utilities have to be turned on the same day, so leasing spent time on the phone trying to get the gas company to come back but they didn't. I was late bringing the truck back but I feel it was U-haul's fault not mine because they gave me a truck that shouldn't even have been in service. The Self check in Feature on the App GAVE ME PURE HELL that day!! As well as the drop off!! Your vehicle have been around the block and have very high mileage. Mine had 86000 and when I rented the truck I was given one with a broken passenger mirror, it would not stay in place, which I cannot emphasize how dangerous that is particularly if you do not have a passenger who can look out that side but even then they could not possibly keep adjusting it. Way to easy to have an accident and to go out into Atlanfa traffice and to have to bring it back and exchange it was ridiculous. Why do I feel that it is Uhaul fault, is because after I parked the vehicle and examined the mirror, I could see that an allen wrench had been used so frequently to tighten it, that the allen wrench slot was stripped. To rent a vehicle like that is unacceptable. I also tried to rate Uhaul after my rental was complete and it would not allow me to rate it and this made me suspicious that your rating system may have been tinkered with by the IT people because it would not allow me to submit. It kept saying my nickname was not unique but then when I used a very unusual concocted nickname after several attempts, it still said that was was already in use, this did not smell right and it made me feel as a customer that it would not allow a 3 star ratingMichael J.

We went through 3 units before I was able to get the right size. Customer service needs better training on what sizes are appropriate because it caused a hassle and it's confusing to the customer. Also, the unit I confirmed online (and went in a week before my move in day to reconfirm in person) was already booked and unavailable when I got there with basically a shrug from the person working. One size up was available but she wouldn't even consider a discount for the inconvenience though I confirmed that unit twice. Why should i pay more when the unit you promised me is gone? Didn't matter because even that unit was too small. The whole move in process was a nightmare and the handful of times we had to go to the unit before we could move it out, it felt unsafe. Signing up for the storage unit was easy and the staff that helped on the day I first arrived was helpful. I was moving out of town, so I didn't stop back by until ready to move my things out 3 months later. When I arrived back in town and stopped by on 12/3, it was 58 degrees inside the temperature controlled area I rented. There was a sign that said it should be below 65, but I was in a hurry and forgot to call the desk to inform them. When I arrived on 12/4, it was 47 degrees inside and I called to ask that the heat be turned on. I was told that someone "might get to it today," which was an unprofessional, and frankly unacceptable answer, but I had movers arriving so we got started. The movers started unloading my unit and bringing items to the Uhaul truck I rented, parked outside building C. They started with bringing small items (couple of light boxes, my desk chair, some outdoor folding chairs, etc). On the way down the elevator, one of the long light bulbs fell from the ceiling without being hit with anything (we didn't have anything tall enough to hit it loaded in the elevator yet), and hit one of the movers on the head. It shattered, leaving glass all over the elevator. I called the front desk to inform them of the incident and the person at the desk literally said "what would you like me to do?" in a harsh tone. I asked if someone could clean up the glass and asked if an incident report needed to be completed on their end. She said she'd send someone to clean up the glass, and never acknowledged an incident report or asked if the gentleman that was hit by the bulb was ok. She asked what we hit the light with, and I shared that we hadn't moved any large items and it wasn't hit, and that she was welcome to come see what we had moved so far (and I took pictures). Minutes later, two people arrived at the building. Neither of them ever acknowledged any of us, myself or the movers. No hello, how are you, nothing. I complimented one of them on their shoes and she said thank you then walked away. The customer service this day was incredibly disappointing and I definitely would not recommend someone use this location given the chance they may have to interact with rude staff.Kellianne M. | Overall Experience

We moved to another place bc key cards stopped working allllllll the time. Then you'd have to wait in line for 15-45 minutes when it didn't work. There is NOT enough people working, they don't acknowledge when you enter 80% of time although most recent manager (African American woman) was great and helpful... but still couldn't fix the key issues and give us back lost time and frustration. I contacted a customer service number to uhaul and no response. My advice... GO BACK TO PIN NUMBERS. It's crazy to charge 300+ abd not have access availableLara C. | Overall Experience
