This is a very good location, and they have a very good on hand supply of moving supplies to purchase. The truck we leased was in good working order but was not clean at all. There was a piece of furniture and some trash in the back of the truck and the cup holders in the cab of the truck had water in them.

The overall experience in Atlanta was quite poor. I showed up to the location approximately one hour after the target time for the reservation to hear the reservation was cancelled and no trucks were available for my out of state move. After waiting around and asking questions, a truck that matched my reservation was "miraculously" located at the same location causing an unnecessary delay and plenty of distress. The truck cabin was very basic and the door seal was later discovered to be quite loose. The cost of the service was also a fair bit higher than Penske. The experience in Niles, IL was quite easy and positive. Another point I didn't appreciate was all of the text outreaches to consider hauling a trailer and I received a notice that made it sound like my drop-off location had changed. The contact at the "new" location reached out to me and I stated that the drop-off location on the reservation is Niles and was told that I could return to Niles which is what I did. I will not be using U-Haul again and not recommending I the company to friends or colleagues.

The staff was completely rude and unwilling to help. I also requested a furniture dolly in my reservation and was told that it was unavailable and I could "purchase a dolly" instead. Also, the van had almost no gas in it, the tire pressure was extremely low on one side, and it needed an oil change. There was nothing about this experience that was pleasant

That manager was the most rude disgusting women to me, shut the door in my face at 6:55pm as I rushed back after a long day of moving and told me we close 5 min early. They made a mistake and wrote the wrong number on my contract so I couldn't return the truck mobile so I tried to grab her attention as she was driving away and rolled up her window in my face as this is my first time doing this. That store manager is rude and awful representation of the company mission. Zero empathy or consideration for anything was taken but she wanted to go home because she clearly doesn't enjoy her job. There is a young kid there with amazing customer service that was there in the AM and I give him 5 stars for everything but clearly his manager doesn't feel the same about her job. She doesn't deserve that job or any with her disgusting attitude towards patrons of the business and I will never ever, ever return to this location off of Piedmont after what I had to deal with today. I hope this not taken lightly and investigated for retraining purposes or just flat out termination. I'm thankful this wasn't a young a adult moving for the first time or someone a little older like my mother who just is new to the process of moving. Awful job U-Haul with this hire.

Do not use this company or location, even if you're desperate. It was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The general manager, Jamika, is rude, curt, unhelpful, inefficient and unfriendly. She clearly hates her job and should definitely not be in a front facing customer service position for any company. The only bright spot of my experience was Keegan, who is amazing and went above and beyond to help us and correct the mistakes Jamika made (while she ate lunch). I arrived for my van return 15 minutes before closing, which was earlier than the time Keegan told us to return. I was standing at the door. The door was locked by 2 representatives as my hand was on the handle and I was not let in to complete my return. It was insane - I've never experienced such wildly rude customer service. 3 more people showed up to the door to be helped and complete returns and were turned away as well, forcing them to pay for an extra day. I will never use U-Haul again - Home Depot here I come.

Had reservation and upon arrival no trailer. Sent to second location- upon arrival had to search for someone to help- 2 other customers couldnt find anyone either- all looking for attendant. After leaving learned trailer had only 1 functioning rear light.

I was asked about the rented moving pads (12) at drop off. I replied that they were in the trailer, which I had been instructed to drop in a rear parking area. The Uhaul employee said that was fine. The next day, I received a call from the location saying the pads were not in the trailer. I replied that I had personally folded and left them in the trailer. The employee said OK, and I was not charged for the pads. The drop off was very quick, but I would have preferred an inspection/inventory to avoid any issues.

When I arrived at the store at 12:15 for my 12:30 reservation. The staff member at the store informed me that she does not have a van for me. I asked if there is anything she could do to help resolve this. She did not give me a clear response and started helping other customers leaving hanging on the side for 30 minutes straight. Finally, I begged her to please help find a vehicle for me. She made a call and then a van magically is available again. I feel being played and treated very poorly.

From renting a truck to move in, identifying best storage unit based on personal needs up to moving out and renting another truck, the team at this U-Haul location goes above and beyond to ensure costumers needs are met. Smooth experience overall. Things in storage where kept in optimal conditions. Highly recommend using this store for renting trucks, temporary and long-term storage needs, and any other service related to moving.

At the beginning of our storage rental, there was a strong putrid smell in the facility. We later learned someone had stored a suitcase full of perishable food which had rotted and stuck up the whole place. Clearly against the rules.

My "above average" rating is due to the automated ease of renting. I have rented from U-Haul for prior moves and it has often been a long process. This was relatively quick and painless. The equipment was very clean and drove well, however, the front fender was literally hanging off on one side. Overall, it was simple enough.

Vehicle had a few dents prior to me picking it up, which was ok. However app check in was not possible which led to me be unable to check in online. I had to go into the store to get the keys. At this point the online check in was completed without me verifying the amount of gas (almost 7/8, yes I took a photo before I left). Upon returning with just over 7/8 tank of gas I was wrongly charged for an additional 3 gallons of gas I never used/ received. The van also smelled inside and seemed like it wasn't cleaned.

The pricing policy is absurd. We reserved a truck for a 10 am pick up. We webt to pick our truck up at 10 am, but because the store was busy we did not get the truck until 10:15. At check out we were asked how long we needed it, we estimated 4 hours. We returned at 2:15 pm (exactly 4 hours later). When we arrived, again the store was very busy. After waiting a while to speak with someone, the employee on duty simply took our keys and told us we could leave. I then received an email with a receipt about half an hour later. It showed a return time of 2:53 pm…well after we had left the store. The employee was clearly backed up and it must have taken her a while to process the return after she told us to leave. But because she put a return time of 2:53 pm, we were charged for a 2nd rental period, thus doubling the cost. I went back the next day to see if we could be credited the duplicate cost, but the employee on duty was incredibly rude and dismissive and refused to even speak with me. We had another reservation for a Uhaul truck this weekend, which I have now cancelled. I will also need to rent a truck twice in August. But for these, and all future rentals, I will be using a different rental company. One that will rent the truck for the entire day rather than an arbitrary time period. And that won't price gouge me.

The truck was dirty in the back where my personal items had to go and the location didn't put the utility dolly I paid for in the truck. I called the next day to see how can they help me because I wasn't able to finish the task I originally got the truck to do and was giving attitude poor service and bad experience

I have complained multiple times with the front office and 800 number that the wine storage cooling unit was not working. 78 degreees is too hot and spoils wine. It has not been working for the past month and I contracted to keep my wine stored at a n appropriate wine temp not room temp. I moved out my wine because of this. The local person Jamila was argumentative when I asked to be refunded the last month $100 since they did not provide the contracted service . I have pictures since June of the temperature. She also would not give me any manager or contact number other than 800 number. I've stored my wine for about 5 years and the wine unit has not worked several times. I Couldn't depend that it was working and very bad customer service regarding this last time so I left. The staff doesn't care to understand the issue with wine and solve problems. Jemika also told me they were going to close down the wine area since it didn't make money. That was news to me and I still should be provided the service I was paying for. The service was fine, however there was a hole on the top of my Uhaul so upon my moving it began to rain. Due to the whole several of my belongings were soaked. Automated system assigned me a vehicle that was already dispatched. Not sure how that happened, but the employee didn't know what to do either. Initially, she told me to come back in an hour to which I replied, "no." After talking on the phone with her manager I think she ended up just giving me keys to another truck. Terrible experience at this location. Credit card systems were down, which happens. Totally understandable. But why did none of the staff let everyone at the store know that? Waited around for no reason for about an hour trying to go through the app to rent the vehicle. 3 hours later when I returned everything worked fine. When I was done with the vehicle the automated check-in system didn't work so I just left and they charged me for another day. Sorry I can't just wait around for your systems to work. Next time I'll go elsewhere

As uHaul dealers go, most (if not all city dealers) have horrible customer service skills. At this particular locale, I got the same feelings as though the staff / manager was doing me the favor of them being there to give them my business. I frequent this locale only bc it's convenient, but my patience is growing thin. Ignored when you show up to get your product to having to unhook my own trailer. Come on, folks. It cannot be that difficult to find decent caring help these days, or is it? The only reason I rated it "average" is because as uHaul dealers go, "poor" is their average.

So I was visiting ATLANTA with family & the immediate need for a storage facility became urgent. So I looked up the closest uhaul and proceeded to go along with you doing my due diligence on pre-booking one and then the next day I went and paid for it. The checkout service experience was horrible, let me start off by saying that... I sat there for well over 3 hours trying to get my accommodations fulfilled regarding the storage unit they kept saying that I owed money and at the end of everything it came to pass that there wasn't true when I called the U-Haul corporate number. Nevertheless after getting checked in, I move my bulk of merchandise into the storage unit and left. When I got back home to Virginia I realized that I did not have a copy of the paperwork that they had given me and and I immediately start reaching out to all of the U-Haul properties that were listed in Atlanta and I got the same response from the majority of them that I did not have a storage unit with them they searched by my email by my name by my number and all of that led to no avail. So I waited and waited to see if the U-Haul facility would hit me up once the payment was due. They never did. So I'm just now getting a call that my stuff was auctioned off when they never tried to reach out to me. Crazy. I do not like this whatsoever and I will be contacting corporate in reference to this matter

The receiving clerk check out the trailer and said he would send me a receipt in a few minutes. I waited for the rest of the evening and half of the next. I call customer service and was told that they would all the sight and have a receipt sent to me that day. I received the receipt on Sunday.

The manager is HORRIBLE she's very cocky and arrogant. I was wrongfully locked out of my unit then nobody knew why. I taught to rent a tool from Home Depot to cut it off. After cleaning the unit and letting the staff know. I was still getting late fees and email. Why I do not know, now all of a sudden I get this email asking me to rate this location… that's crazy Jamika should not be running a business like that. I would not rent at or from this location. I'm sorry smh

This is probably the worst location in Atlanta the manager has a very nasty attitude and the staff aren't trained properly on what needs to be done. There was an unknown charge on my account and I had to call customer service in order for them to remove it because the Manager was not helpful regarding this matter. They mixed up my unit numbers then tried to blame me. I had to contact the president who so kindly handled all matters respectfully for me. I would not recommend this location. I moved my things out after the first month.

This storage unit was closed out more than a year ago. Uhaul continued to charge my card for more than a year to a unit that we no longer had the keys for. No one at the storage unit was able to help with these charges and would only "re close" out the unit, requiring us to make additional payments. This was not acceptable and we cancelled the card instead to avoid additional charges. They then continued to follow up saying they will sell off the unit. Unfortunately, this did not change anything for us as whatever was in the unit was not ours. I do feel bad for whoever's stuff was sold without being contacted but again we turned over that storage unit more than a year ago. This saga was an absolute nightmare and I would think twice before ever continuing to use Uhaul in any capacity (particularly this location).

The individual who assisted me during the check-in process was friendly, but it became evident that there were issues with management or a lack thereof. I had made a reservation for a storage unit through the app, and I had a free month credited to my account, which I was informed was valid for 2 years by customer service. However, when I attempted to redeem this offer, I was informed that only a manager could authorize it, and unfortunately, the manager was unavailable. I arrived at the facility at 11:00 am on Sunday, October 21st. To my dismay, I discovered that none of the units listed as available on the young man's list were actually vacant. We had to visit buildings A, B, and C, inspecting various units, which significantly prolonged the process of securing a unit. The management at this location should be more proficient in maintaining an updated list of unit availability to avoid such inconveniences. It took us two hours just to secure a unit. Finally, when I obtained the unit, I encountered another problem: the air conditioning in the hallway where my unit was located was not functioning. This made packing our belongings in the sweltering heat an overwhelming and stressful experience. Moving is inherently stressful, and the issues I encountered at this U-Haul facility only exacerbated the situation. In summary, my overall experience with U-Haul's management at this location was far from satisfactory. I will be filing a formal complaint and expecting some type of refund.

When I moved in my stuff to storage and upgraded to a bigger unit, I was given two different prices. The unit on the first floor price was higher than the unit on the throes floor, C304 for $246.00. After making the payment and transferred to the bigger unit, payment cleared by the bank, the previous store manager increased the price to be the same as the one in the first floor. In person discussions with the store manager, he requested documentation for the $246.00 payment. And even promised a free month with the documentation. I submitted my bank statement with the $246 payment. Rescinded on the offer. Put my unit on a lien, added additional fees and charges for late payment. I submitted my documentation to the Uhaul top management. All the extra fees I had paid were returned. Moving out of the C304 storage unit after escaping from a toxic, hostile living situation, I found a safe house. I got financial assistance from the Church of transfiguration, At Vincent the Paul to pay for my August 2023 unit rental. They sent a check. After 20 days, the Uhaul Piedmont store never found the check. I used my last money to pay for the rental and vacated by September 12,2023 to avoid another month rental. I kept the store manager aware of the vacated unit to no avail. Per conversation with the store manager, she wanted to charge me for an extra month. On September 26,2023 I agreed to closed the account due to the missing check. And the same day the uhaul Piedmont store tried to charge the additional month to my card without my authorization or knowledge. I have documented my previous comments and sent them via email ti the top UHaul management and the store manager. As a loyal UHaul customer since 1977, you have some bad actors within your organization that are affecting your brand loyalty. Thanks. Juan

My only concern was that my New storage units locking apparatus did not feel secure. It moved when I secured it with my lock and I'm a little concerned about that. There wasn't another unit that size to move into on 6/24/23 so I'm hopeful Management addresses that discrepancy ASAP so that I feel secure in knowing my gear is safe. Otherwise, the move was effortless ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Manager on staff Saturday 6/24/23 was excellent. Her ability to multitask was Amazing and effortless. She took care of every customer as if it were her first and I was completely amazed at how calm she stayed even under the pressure of 7 people waiting while she took care of me and another customer. Wowwwww totally Awesome is an understatement. When I brought to her attention that my storage units locking system looked tampered with she immediately gave me reassurance that she would call someone to address the issue and, notify me as well. Parking at this location can be tricky especially when there is a lot of rental equipment in storage. I've had a few issues with that causing me to avoid this location when I bough moving supplies even though I had a rental unit there. Other than that relatively clean and secure, had a few minor issues with the gate but nothing that couldn't be solved with another card swipe.

It is not a great location for the storage facility as it is a super tight space with not a lot of room to move and my main complaint, well really only complaint, is that the door to the area where my storage unit was, was pretty much always blocked by a truck or trailer making it difficult to navigate with boxes or items in hand. Also, it made it impossible to use a dolly so had to carry everything in and out by hand. If I had not only been using the facility for a short time while my floors were being redone, I would have moved to a different unit. Burt I would not go back to this facility mainly because it was a poor location, really too small to maneuver around in especially when multiple people where there at the same time. Service and staff were good. Just the location was poor.

I had bought insurance but when I moved my stuff out, the manager said I'm not gonna close out your unit just to make sure they know it was yours and you won't get charged for it. I have used U-Haul services many other times, from various other locations. They have all been very good. This experience, however, was by far, the worst I could have imagined. My storage reservation specifically stated a climate-controlled unit, but I was given a non-climate control unit. I was never informed before hand or even during the check-in. I called back several times wanting to speak to the manager, Trell, but was given excuses that she was not available and rudely dismissed. That reservation with a Rent-Now promotion would have provided me a free lock, but told I needed to pay, and so I was charged unnecessarily. By the way, I rented a cargo van in the process. The worst part was yet to come, one month later, when I came to pull my contents out. Again, I reserved a cargo van. Pick up was noon on Saturday. I flew into Atlanta, and was running late due to an issue with the rental vehicle at the airport. I arrived at the Piedmont location at 12:45, and told that my reservation had been cancelled. There should have been a courtesy call asking, but nothing, not even considering that I had an active storage unit rented there. Staff was rude, and pushed me off to the Peachtree location where that reservation was close to not being honored, if not for my pleading. When I came back with a truck rented elsewhere, I asked to rent a hand truck dolly, and again not allowed, even though there were 6 of them available and the store was going to close in 3 hours. Again, I asked to speak to Trell, again I was denied. Staft and management were just so unprofessional. This was the absolute worst experience.

I got locked in on one instance because I wasn't told any time limitations. When I cleared my storage unit, the employee on duty was made aware before she hurriedly left for the day and told me she would deactivate my access that day. But never made a note in the system. This date was before my free 30 days was up, I called to schedule the walk through the day before my 30 days and was told I couldn't proceed with the walk through until I paid mY outstanding balance. I explained the situation and the so called manager on duty (not Trell) said that even though the employee neglected to note that I was moving out on a date prior to my 30 days I still had to pay.

I was blatantly ignored when I walked in and had to ask multiple times to get answers to questions or to get help. I have never seen worse customer service at a Uhaul than at this location. When I was trying to rent a truck to move out of the storage facility, the staff was nowhere to be found for more than 2 hours after opening time (maybe longer). I was forced to go to another Uhaul location to rent a truck because they didn't weren't there when they were supposed to be.
