I was sent to 14th street to pickup a trailer. Waited an hour ultimately to get told I couldn't pick it up there and had to go to another location.LELAND G.
Terrible experience picking up the Van. Likely will not use U-haul again in the future. I went with the truck share 24/7 option to avoid waiting in line and minimize person-to-person contact. What's the last step I'm presented with before I can gain access to the truck? That I need to go inside to get the key! I did so, stepped to the side counter as the website instructed, and the gentleman behind the counter physically pointed at me in front of other customers and snapped at me to get in line. So, I ended up inside, waiting through the entire line anyway, after having already gone through the entire process of submitting pictures etc via the web application. And on top of that, I was made by staff to feel as though I had done something wrong. Never again, U-haul.Jordan D.

The Uhaul process in general was stressful. Not by any fault of the location. Just simply how it is setup. I put in requests for truck and equipment but I don't know until 24hrs before if I can actually have that size truck or if it will be at the location I request. I went to this place to rent a truck. First the representatives were not friendly at all. Second the truck was smelling terribly. The steering wheel was very dirty and not clean. The overall experience was horrible. The van was beat up and dirty. I chose to do the self checkin. I still had to go inside and wait for a rep to assist. This cut into my rental time. When I originally booked the van, I put all of my information in and somehow, the name on the rental had nothing to do with me. I scheduled a delivery for my U-Box container about a week in advance. The U-Box arrived to the location early, and there was confusion around if it was actually there. When I was finally able to confirm that it was there, I set the date for delivery. On the day of the delivery, I got an email and phone call confirming it would be delivered. Then, 2 hours before the end of the delivery window, they canceled on me because they couldn't find a driver. We had planned our entire move in around this date, and this was very frustrating and inconvenient. Do not confirm the delivery if you don't actually have a driver! I ended up booking a van at the location and picking it up myself. No one offered me a discount or reimbursement for this inconvenience. It was an awful and stressful experience.Jenna B.

Overall, using U-Box containers was a huge disappointment! The only option to schedule pick-up and/or delivery is by calling the 1-800 number which means you are on hold for extremely long periods of time. The day of delivery, there were not enough multi-box trailers so it took three, 40 minute each, trips to get all the boxes delivered...a complete waste of time.Lora B.

I truly could not have imagined a worse experience than my U-box experience. To keep a very long and emotionally distressing story somewhat short- After a variety of issues with timeliness, one of the U-boxes arrived broken (my moving help provider had to screw on a new attachment in order for it to close). Then, one of my boxes was mixed up with another customer's. Despite knowing this was likely the case for over a week, U-haul did not inform me until 3 days before my guaranteed arrival date (more than 2 weeks after I'd originally packed the box). In fact, they were only able to confirm which box was mine by sending me photos of the locks - thank goodness I remembered what they were! No idea how this isn't something more easily tracked in the system. I was then told my box would be shipping within 2 days to arrive at the end of the week (several days past guaranteed arrival), but that turned out to be incorrect. As I tried to confirm what was happening and get more information, U-Haul simply stopped returning my direct calls, and no one in the customer service department (which usually has a ~60 minute hold time) was able to help me. They'd typically say someone would call me back, but no one ever did. Ultimately, I finally received my box a week later, but only after several in-person visits to the U-Haul location to beg for information. My original contacts just simply stopped communicating with me. The only person who ever even tried to help was the location manager in Chicago, so I appreciate his responsiveness. Altogether, though, this was a disaster, and I would implore anyone considering using the service to go with literally any other option.Katie W.

This was the 3rd location I was switched to in one day so none of the locations did a good job. I was suppose to pick my truck at 4540 Washington Rd, Atlanta, GA 30349. It was switched to 2479 Sullivan Rd the day before because they said the previous location didn't have the right type of truck. When I got to this location I sat on the phone with your customer service for over an hour because no one gave me the lock box combination to get the key for the truck. During that time someone else pulled up and took the truck that was assigned to me. I then drove over to the Washington rd location that my original reservation was at to only be switched again to another location downtown on Peter St. This whole process of getting the run around took almost 4hours and I had paid movers waiting on me to arrive with the truck entire time. This singlehandedly messed up my whole day because I had a 11hr drive to Ohio that day. The last location I went to had a wait of over 30mins and they didn't have any of the dollys I reserved as well. This type of service is completely unacceptable.CALVIN H.

At Peter's street There's one in a million people that actually care about your time or comfort. But no one answers the phone ever, but once they do if your request is something they don't want to do, to hold music you go until You hang up or they pick up and hang up. Meanwhile my storage unit has seem to flooded or the sprinkler went off and I wasn't notified, I noticed while there 10 minutes to closing time and the office was already closed and no worker was in sight! They were not organized and not very courteous-they weren't rude, but made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by picking up my truck. Wait was longer then needed to be because of chit chatting amongst workers which is quite annoying to be honest. I reserved a dolly and it wasn't available-moving without one would be much harder. I was not informed I could buy one for $20 until I said â€œhey can I have one of those dollysâ€ that were in the office-salesperson didn't suggest it and didn't care that my Dolly wasn't available. But it was fine. Truck ran great which I was thankful for but the cab was filthy-like GROSS. It's one thing to look a bit dirty, it's another for the console to have peanut pieces, gunk all over from coffee and drinks. The floor in between the seats caked in muck. It was gross. We cleaned up the console and threw some newspaper on top of the floor and drove off. When I dropped off the truck, the attendant was nice enough but didn't give me a receipt which I asked for and he said the receipt would be emailed to me-which it wasn't. The GM Ibrahim is a disgusting reflection of UHaul management. He is not only confrontational, but also lacks very basic customer service skills. He thoroughly enjoys making customers upset and inconveniencing them wherever possible. His venom has even begun to seep into some of the lower employees. Instead of being kind and accommodating, they follow his lead with nasty attitudes and argumentative natures. The facility is disgusting. If I had known I would have daily visits from rats and roaches I would've never chosen to store my items here. My experience with this Uhaul was one-star at best. This place is absolutely absurd. First I scheduled a mobile pick up for Tuesday, July 27 and when I got there they were no mobile pick ups available so I had to wait for the place to open and wait to get my truck. Then I decided to get a storage unit in which the map the young lady gave me was not helpful I could barely find the storage unit I had to go through a maze. I've been had to walk up stairs to get to the unit. Now I read online that it was 24 x 7 but today when I got there to take some things at almost 7 o'clock the employee said they close at 7 o'clock. Every time I came to enter my storage unit I would check in and then be denied access to my unit. After every visit I had to have a customer service representative assist in the access to my unit. I was given a card after a third attempt that still denied me access. Also Alyssa and Felicia were unaware of what storage units were actually available so I had to go back between them and the storage people. Horrible service I know why this place has a 2.0 on Google. I switched to a bigger unit and received a receipt of new unit. Two months after getting the unit I het a call about the old unit and learn the new unit was auctioned off and Uhaul has me down for the old unit and not the new. My things were auctioned off and I am being harrassed for the balance on a unit that I moved from. The staff is not attentive nor can you get anyone to answer the phone. I scheduled a van on Wednesday to move my stuff out. I had an email confirmation for pick up on Saturday the 1st of may. I get there at my scheduled pick up time only to be told that a van isn't available. The worker stated they left a voice mail but my voicemail is not set up for anyone to leave one so she was lying on top of that. Thank you Abraham who has been the ONLY helpful worker there during my whole STORAGE time. I will not recommend this facility to ANYONE. I couldn't wait to be done with this location. You know what they say about first impressions? Well If I went by that I would NOT be going back, BUT I know it can be better. The details of my 1st visit are very long so I'll just hit the highlights. 1.: The e-mail I received said that I could AVOID the desk & go right to my storage using my "Access Code", WRONG. 2.: I find my storage room & there is a lock on it. 3.: The door to my storage room is opened and low & behold someones stuff is in there, so the room is NOT even ready for me to use, I have to wait for it to be cleared out. 4.: The e-mail I received said that a lock would be in my storage room, well of course there was no lock in the room. 5.: The "check-in" & "check-out" process was NOT explained to me when I was given my key card. The very nice young lady that cleared out the storage room explained all that to me, if she hadn't I wouldn't have known that I had to check-out before I left the building or I wouldn't be able to get in on my next visit. That young lady was the reason I didn't take my business elsewhere, she was very nice & sweet & kept apologizing for all this "stuff" that wasn't even her fault.Robert L. | Online Move In

Charged a $112.90 to rent a 10x10x6 only to learn this unit was too small. I then asked to move to a larger unit (on size up), but it appears as though I've been charged for both. The staff at this location is HORRIBLE. Maria in specific needs to be retrained on customer service because she lacks professionalism in the workplace. They legitimately are on their personal phone as they are assisting customers, which shows how much they care for my business. If it wasn't for my pod being sent to this location I would have my storage somewhere else. I got there 30 minutes prior to opening and wasn't able to fully access my unit until quarter till 10 (this location opens at 9) because though I had made an appointment to come the following morning to empty my pod and move my things into storage I still had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get the previous lock taken off. The store opens on the weekend with ONE person and a line backed up with over 10 people waiting. There's employees that spend more time flirting with you then relaying information. I came back the following Day ready to move my things out of the pod into my permanent storage ñ only to find out that the storage unit required a specific lock, one that I did not possess. Thankfully for Abraham and Tony I was able to move my things in to the storage after having numerous incidents that were affecting my entry all which were on the fault of the staff members, miscommunication, and lack of professionalism. Again thank you to TONY and ABRAHAM they were the ONLY TWO there that were genuinely concerned and wanted to assure that I had everything in order.Adina S. | First Impressions

Got assaulted by an employee that goes by 'Q' Harassed to the point of fearing for my life, called the police and had to reload my truck and get my money back for the storage unit and leave. The employee grabbed my personal belongings and started taking them off my dolly that I had chosen to use and then took the dolly because he wanted to use the one I had. He got inside my truck, bucking up on me telling me he was going to beat me up 4 against 1 because i was alone and he was with 3 other girls. NEVER WOULD RECOMMEND THAT LOCATION TO A SINGLE SOUL. Many, many equipment issues with the Elevator system throughout the facility. Access cards don't work, the elevators don't work, the gates don't work. People were nice, but had to bug them to help with equipment issues not their fault. Not worth the hassle. Your system seems to be top notch but there are a few glaring problems. I had a lot of questions and it seemed like i was alway on hold in Phoenix for a long time. I tried to get a hitch installed and the hitch did not arrive in time even though I had ordered it 2 weeks in advance. The local usual dealer did not seem aware or concerned that i was renting a trailer the next day. It sometime seemed like the local people on the ground didn't really know what was going on. When closing our unit, the staff had locked us out saying our payment was overdue, when in fact our balance was zero as we were on autopay. When we notified office staff, they were apologetic and asked a team member to unlock the unit. No one had the lock for the key that Uhaul placed on our unit, and we sat for two hours outside of our locked storage unit waiting to empty it's contents, until someone finally found the right key. No one accepted responsibility and everyone blamed one another. No sense of urgency to fix the problem that was caused by Uhaul was in place by the employees, and we had to keep coming down every 20 minutes to ask for an update. I moved into a unit for no more than a month, a week or two to be exact. I told the person on staff at the moment that I was vacating the unit and called back to reconfirm and that everything was taken care of, that was August 2019. Here we are in 2020 they are send emails, letters and phone calls about a storage until that I left a year ago. Even calling to the property directly and speaking with whoever the acting anything is for the day is, I get no luck. In the past in other cities I have used U-Haul but after dealing with this and not being able to get this matter taken care of, I will no longer patronage a business who communication skills is anything less than professional and accessible.Derek W. | Overall Experience

I wish it was explained on the website that my unit was going to be above a level but not on the second floor which made it difficult to move some items and I would have changed my unit given the option. I was very disappointed in how many people helped. It was a very stressful time having to move out and this made it even more stressful. I know many people that did not get in on time from having to hours just to get served. Many people could not have anticipated to wait hours just to get their storage registration done.
