I reserved a truck and storage unit for a 2 bedroom duplex. Got there got the perfect truck. Went to unload and storage was size of a closet. Staff was rude and didn't try to resolve the issue. If you knew I was emptying a 2 bedroom duplex why wouldn't you help to make sure I got a storage unit for a 2 bedroom duplex??? Thank God S. Campbell facility came through. Came in and asked about a rental truck and was rudely told no, not until next week would there be one available. I went outside and looked up and reserved a truck online, in the same location within 5 minutes of being told they didn't have a truck to rent out. The truck's electrical system failed. Causing the windshield wipers to fail when driving in the rain. I could not see to drive, I had to pull over and wait for the rain out. When checking in, I was told that I was prepaying for mileage, and that I could get money back if I did not use all the miles. Upon return, there was no reimbursement for unused mileage. The person helping me went to ask a manager for assistance, and the manager did not come out of their office to speak with me.Robert P.

Outside and inside of truck was dirty. I cleaned out 4 water bottles below the seats and other trash. Cup holders were dirty. Windshield was so big covered I had to stop and clean it. Only instructions given was: Here ya go as I was given the keys.Sam O.

I reserved a truck to be picked up .8 miles from my home, ended up having to drive 5-1/2 to get it because it never went to my preferred location. Got there shortly after 6 a.n. to do the self check out, after jumping through 20 hoops, finally got the access code for the box my key was supposed to be in (an hour later) to my dismay, there was NO key in the box. Now I have 11 people at my house waiting to help load. I found someone who could not understand WHY I was extremely angry. Piss poor customer service representative who never once apologized for any of the inconvenience. Handed me the key from behind the counter with a "here ya go.." Then, my drop off location was changed from about a mile, to 11-1/2 miles away! So ended up having an extra 15 miles to be charged for total. Fortunately the people at the drop off point (independant dealer) were able to adjust all of this so I wouldn't be charged. Kudos to the folks at Mt Vernon True Value, shame on the Uhaul District center in Springfield, MO.John B.

Truck had warning lights on smelled of gas â›½ï¸ when I rented the truck they were very short(rude) with me. I asked them if I could bring it back at anytime they said yeah. I brought it back 5 hours later put key in box, then got a bill the next day said I owed $20 more dollars for an after hours fee that they didn't even tell me about.BILLY H.
I reserved a pickup truck when I got to the site to pick up the truck I was told I needed a $300 deposit because of July 1st all of the pickup trucks were much higher deposits I was not financially able to do that I ended up with a 10 ft truck which cost me much more in gas when I called to make my reservation this was not told to me the people working at the store were very nice I chose the pick up truck because of the gas it was going to take me to go 140 MI other than paying a high amount for gas everything was fineConnie G.

I went to move in and my storage building was rented already with a regular lock and a red lock. No one could fix as it was closing time. They refused to honor my online reservation for a pickup truck man said he didn't have any though he had 4 in lot and still were there at closing. I would not recommend this location to ANYONE. First off, U-Haul decided to switch the location I chose for pickup to a location that was 20 minutes away instead of 4 minutes away and I did not get a single phone call or email about it until I showed up to the wrong place. Once I got to the new location they are all frantically looking for a 20' truck key and then told me it was â€œunder maitnenceâ€ and they would have to get me a 26' foot truck. I order the size I did because that was the size I needed, not a 26' which is MUCH larger. I had to move so had no chose but to get the large truck. It didn't fit parked in my apartment parking lot because of the size. When I got to my apartment to load the truck I realized it was missing the dolly and the moving blankets. U-Haul was closed so I couldn't go back to get them and had to have the truck loaded so it was loaded without the equipment I rented. At 8am the next morning I drove another 40 minutes round trip to pick up the dolly and moving blankets that should have been in there when I picked it up. The moving blankets were pointless as the truck was already loaded. When I went to return the truck I made sure to tell them the situation and let them know it was not fair for me to pay full price for them. The worker was arguing using the excuse â€œwell it is not our fault you did not use them. You rented themâ€. It is not our job to double check their work. After some convincing he said he would take off the price of the rental equipment. I verified 3 times the price of that and he continuously said one price. When we get the invoice he did not even take off the full price of the equipment. Not to mention we got fuel before returning and had it at the correct level but he charged us an extra $21 for gas. When we were leaving fed up with the crap we had just received he decides it's appropriate to tell us as were are walking out the door â€œand I won't do it againâ€. HORRIBLE experience, will never be returning to UHaul if this is the type of customer service they give.Mackenzie M.

I had to go to a different location because the truck I wanted wasn't at the original location I booked it at. They at least called ahead and told me however, the website did let me book it at the 1st site which is what I planned all the driving time from. 2nd location day of p/u doesn't have 10ft truck either so I have to drive a 15ft truck which seems fine in it of itself but the place I was going to p/u this appliance from has small streets. More difficult to navigate. Then they charge me and check me out, bring up truck and then tell me they don't have appliance dolly for me. Which, is the whole reason for the pick up was to get an appliance. They gave me a flat dolly because it was all they had. Never used it. They supposedly didn't charge me for the appliance dolly, but I honestly don't care about getting charge for an appliance dolly because I wanted an appliance dolly! This was the worst experience I had at a U-Haul yet. There needs to be some thing that indicates what type of truck and what equipment you have at what location accurately so people can plan. I had to cancel clients due to the fact that I had to make my move begin at a different location and had extra work because I didn't have the appliance dolly.Leah M.

I made a reservation, but the counter attendant still asked me what truck I wanted, if I wanted any extra equipment, and where I was going to drop it off at. All of these things were in my reservation. It was also near impossible to understand anything he said because he wasn't speaking clearly. This is my second time renting from this location, and both times the gas tank wasn't full. That seems strange to me. How am I supposed to figure out how to fill up to 1/4 of a tank? I also had this as my pick up location in my reservation, but 2 other locations called me about picking up my rental.James C.

I was happy with the North Glenstone location. My issue was with the South Campbell location. I had reserved a trailer over a week in advance, when I went to pick it up they told me they didn't have any so they made me a reservation to pick one up at North Glenstone which was fine. But when I went to leave I saw the exact trailer I had rented out in front so I went in to tell them they actually did have the trailer. So the guy started to go out to check it in so I could take it and all of a sudden now that trailer was reserved. I told him yeah it is reserved I have had a reservation for over a week and all he would tell me is that I couldn't take it because it was reserved so I had to drive all the way across town to the North Glenstone location to pick it up. They wouldn't give me a good reason why I could not take that trailer, it was very aggravating because I was on a tight schedule I didn't have time to argue with them so I just left and got the other trailer. Maybe they had a good reason for it but if they did they would have told me. He just kept saying it's reservedâ€¦..so how about a phone call or something to give people a heads up so they can make other plans instead of letting them go in and be told they can't have the item they reserved well in advance that's sitting right outside the front doorJOSHUA S.
I waited on roadside assistance for almost 5 hours on the previous rental and was told I would be given some form of discount for my trouble yet I did not. The staff has always been professional and friendly I felt the oversight regarding compensation for the lost time when the vehicle got a flat.....and had no jack was due to some corporate quota for over booking, the company that showed up for the flat repair were quick and friendly, and only came late because they were the last company uhaul dispatched after repeatedly telling me assistance was on the way, before finally calling the company that was available. The staff at north glenstone are always courteous and helpful. The blame for late dispatch and no compensation for time lost is on corporate.justin E.

Although I do love the U-Haul brand recently I've had some troubles I was on a tight time schedule and unfortunately due to some changes with my reservation I was put into a position to where I'm going to be losing a majority of my things I don't blame uhaul, life happens but , it's frustrating and I wish their customer service team would make more of an effort to compensate or assist with the situation. *My facility recommendations for where I have rented multiple units I would say get that restroom clean and keep it fixed also that drive-in bay. The reservation process is a joke. They will let you make reservations on rooms that aren't available giving you a false sense of security. Homeless sleeping in units management ..... horrible does not care about the safety of clients rude loud . Two occasions my debit card was mishandled. Dirty trash inside an outside buildings . Never answered phone . Had to call one on Campbell street to get help . Glenstone location in Springfield mo needs new management before some one gets hurt it is that bad over there feel free to call me and my husband and three others we meet by being in a bad situation just cause we needed to use are storages . Our unit itself was acceptable, but the needles found outside of it and the sketchy people living in their unit a few doors down from ours made the whole experience super uncomfortable.
