My overall experience with the staff and the facility was good. The staff were very helpful and accommodating in resolving my issues with the storage unit I rented. However the unit I had rented, I am not pleased with. The framing and the drywall are coming apart. With minimum effort, I would be able to enter the adjacent storage unit. The door to the unit I had rented was difficult to open and close. I had to exert a high level of effort just to get into the unit and to close the the unit. The instructions for picking up the van were not clear using the self check in. The compound was locked so I was unable to find the truck without having to go in and talk to someone to check in and waited anyways. Trying to get out of the compound was confusing, I was given keys, why did I have to check out that I was leaving. Why offer the no contact check in but then make me interact with someone to get into the compound to pick up the truck. I can understand needing to see someone to get the keys, but the whole check in process sucked and wasn't logical and left me frustrated all morning trying to check the truck out. Drove around the property for 10 minutes trying to figure it out before going in and giving up on trying to use the self check in.Shawn P.

The trailer needed repair to the door which was completed on site and quickly but still, it should have been detected earlier. Also, I had rented the trailer from the Colby Rd. U haul and when I arrived at Colby I was told it was located on Fairway Rd. I was told they tried to contact me but the phone was busy? My phone never is busy, it goes to voice mail if I'm on the phone. Bullshit! Vehicle was not cleaned from snow, there was no snow brush in the vehicle. It was parked in the yard away from the office and there was a truck parked in front of it. Had to walk back to the office and ask someone to remove the front truck. Also i was charged 20$ for after office hour drop off for which i was not informed upfront. I was very disappointed to see that my reserved truck was blocked on the driver side by another truck. It was also completely covered in snow and ice all over the windshield and hood. I actually took pictures. I had nothing to clean it with except my bare hands. I have used uHaul on several occasions in the past, particularly in winter weather, but my reservation has always been ready, warmed up, and clean. The cargo area had not been fully inspected as there was damage on the bunk head rail as well as something left from the previous renter. I will not be using uhaul again.Jeffery H.

I thought you rented your vehicles on a 24 hour basis which counts as 1 day rental. I picked up my moving van at the end of the day 4:15pm on Dec. 18th and returned it 3:30pn on Dec. 19th and invoiced for 2 days instead of 1 day. At first , I had a reservation at the Esso / U haul in Preston, when I got there , she said that someone just took it for a week ! She sends me to the Fairway Rd Kitchener U haul to get a truck , who doesn't accept anything but credit cards , but they made an acception for me , and then I find out I could have got the same vehicle at the U haul on Barbara crt , instead of going all the way to Kitchener, what a pain in the ass day it was for me , especially since time was a matter ! ðŸ˜¡CLAYTONB K.
This location is full of in professional staff and have no respect for customer I rented a truck and the guy was so fast and didn't explain any policy I asked him specifically about returned and he never explain full part I told him if I m renting at 4 pm and wanted to return around 9 pm can I do that he said no problem but never told me about after hrs charges and I told him to keep my contract for 24 hrs but he made it for 10 pm This is how they rip off their client I returned it at the same day at 9 pm then got $20 charges When I called in I spoke to Victoria she said manage will call back but no call I went to the location spoke to another unprofessional guy name Alex and all he was yelling that it's in ur contract if I dnt ready ur fault no one can do any thing u can review it or do whatever and yes when I was leaving he was like my name is Alex u can write what ever review It's just $20 but they way these guys work just be careful cuz that's how they are happy to make extra $20 $ Never going back thereFAROOQ H.

there were some issues getting going. we booked a week in advance, we were told we would receive an email confirming the reservation and pick up location - we never did get this call or email. when we had not heard anything we called Waterloo (the place we originally booked the reservation) to confirm - we were told to pick it up in Waterloo. the day of the rental we went to Waterloo, at first they couldn't find our reservation, then they told us that we needed to go to Victoria and Charles in Kitchener. we went there, at first they couldn't find our reservation, then they sent us to Fairway Road to pick up the trailer. when we arrived there they at first couldn't find our reservation, then when they did they didn't want to rent us the blankets even though we had rented blankets three weeks earlier. we found out why nobody could initially find our reservation was because the first person (in Waterloo) had put our first name is as our last name. once we got though all this the rest of the rental went well including the drop off.Paul W.

Absolute worst experience I have EVER had with a rental company. Customer service at the location itself was rude and argumentative and did absolutely nothing to help resolve the issue. Rented a moving truck to pick up a large purchase however due to snowy roads and the truck having bald tires ended up stuck on the side of the road. As per the Uhaul website i attempted to call the roadside assistance that I had paid for with my rental however due to high call volume after waiting on hold "for the next available attendant" for 20 min at a time was greeted with another msg saying "all our representatives are currently on another call, please call back later" the line then disconnected. Attempted that another 5 times before trying the office where I made the rental, after explaining the situation to them I was told my only option was to keep trying the roadside assistance number that continuously disconnected me. Again tried to explain that I had done that multiple times with no answer. I asked that they attempt to contact assistance for me but was met with more rude and sarcastic remarks without the slightest bit of compassion or responsibility. Four hours later, alone on the side of the road without the slightest bit of assistance or responsibility on part from the company itself, I was finally pulled out by a passer by who happened to have a wench. If you are looking for a company that will charge you for a rental but then literally leave you and the rental stranded on the side of the road then you have come to the right place. If you are looking for a company that will charge you for a truck with bald tires in the snow and customer service reps with attitude and no sense of responsibility, Uhaul Kitchener on Fairway Rd is the place for you. The in cab heater didn't work at all so it was very cold driving the truck, not to mention dangerous at times when the windshield would frost up as I was driving. I left this message with the contact person when dropping the truck off and think I should be compensated in some way for the inconvenience. We had booked a pick up in Cambridge about 3 weeks in advance. We picked this location because is was convenient for us and we wanted to get packing ASAP on moving day. Around 4 pm the night before we got a call telling us we would have to pick up in Elmira about 50mins away. In the morning my husband drove to Elmira where he was informed that late the night before or early morning or something there must have been a text telling him to go to Kitchener to pickup. (So not getting this in time wasted our gas money, time etc) meaning we were 2 hours late getting the moving truck and thus putting out all the people we asked to help and making us later getting things done. while retruning the truck, i showed the fuel receipt to the employee and ask her to check the fuel level. He confirmed everything and said you will only get charged for the mileage and we will send you the final receipt over the email. Next day they charged me for the fuel and said the tank was not full. I used the storage locker for short-term storage of my late father's household goods until I could get the auction house to come pick them up. The check-in process was very slow due to computer issues, but the person who checked me in provided the contract and lock to me for pick-up later in the day. The check-out process was very quick. Both people I dealt with were very polite and efficient. At a difficult time of dealing with the death of a close family member, patronizing U-Haul simplified things for me. This was the worst experience and an utter waste of time. The locker was supposed to be 5'x5' and turned out to be significantly smaller at roughly 3.5'x4'. I immediately raised the issue with the staff only to be told the dimensions were only approximate. I'm willing to accept the space being off by a few inches, but it's simply insulting to claim a few feet as approximate. The counter staff person that I booked my storage unit with was having problems with slow computer processing of my reservation. Rather than have me wait, he gave me my access card and provided the storage lock free of charge. This location actually cancelled a reservation I had made earlier in the month because of confusion regarding the date. I also rented 3 trucks within a month and half... My only complaint is that the last truck I rented, couldn't pick it up until 9 am as that's when you opened. With a 9am pickup time (instead of 7am) you end up.moving late into the day and nobody likes that. Earlier you start, the earlier you finish. Should open 7am .7 days/week. I appreciated the service. Pros- Easy account set up, friendly staff, and great prices. Cons- Need more camera surveillance throughout the compound, extended and 24hr access only for registered business owners/contractors. Either chosen access type should be available to ALL customers, at least extended access to all with contractors/business owners continuing to receive 24hr access but as a type of business ownership bonus for choosing to store with UHaul. The access issue is kind of a big deal to me as my wife and I started a family owned business venture specializing in Lawn care/Winter Maintenance. It's off to a rough start but our operating hrs are an 'On Call 24Hrs', 'You Make The Call and We'll Be There!'.. Unfortunately the business is unregistered with BBB...but policy is policy. I rented a unit for 6 months at U-Haul, from November to May. My belongings were stored safely in a clean and safe environment. Staff was very accommodating and friendly especially the store manager Brandee.
