We encountered 2 blown tires on trailer and was immobile for 3 hours waiting on roadside assistance. I think just making sure that equipment is in operable condition. I'm not faulting U-Haul, but maybe just check equipment to make sure it is serviceable. Accidents do occur. Although we thought we had completed everything right, I walled in the next day to cross my T's and dot my I's and we learned the following day that we didn't complete the app instructions correctly when we did the after-hours drop-off. The drop-off location checked us in and verified that all was correct and our agreement was closed in good accord. The young man that helped me return the trailer was very conscientious and took care of me right away. It was a Holiday (Labor Day) and he went the extra mile to make sure I was able to get the trailer turned expeditiously. He even made sure I had my receipt before I left even though the system was slow.Robert H.

Originally dropped trailer off at the 1963 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC location. Gentleman at location moved a few things so we could drop it. Only to find out a week later that this location claimed not to take that kind of equipment. Why would someone tell us all okay, move equipment around if they did not accept this type of equipment? I received countless calls and text messages asking me to return the trailer. I think this is very poor customer service and/or training by local dealer to his/her employees.Mason S.

My reservation was changed (location) without notifying me. I requested a rental from a location significantly closer to where I needed to move items but that place was randomly closed. Other people were also not informed and were waiting outside as well. After waiting for a very long time to get ahold of customer service, they tried to send me to another location near by that was also closed. Eventually I was sent to a third location that was all the way on the other side of town which delayed my move over 2 hours. The third location where I actually picked up the vehicle was very helpful and nice. Everything before that was a nightmare. This ended up costing me more money driving all the way across town twice to pick up and return the truck. One side note for the equipment - the furniture dolly had a broken wheel. The rubber part of wheel would fall off every 20 feet. Please consider reimbursing me for the milage of this rental. That milage was not my fault and should have been compensated.Matthew L.

The installation took a long time. The installer needed to find additional information on how to install the hitch on my car type. If this information is readily available it may have helped the situation. But even though my experience wasn't superb, the customer service from the staff, specifically Tonya was excellent. I had to go back to have them check on a wire that seemed out of place and Tonya herself, who is the manager I believe, didn't hesitate to get down on the ground and take care of the issue. Relocating, was a devastating issue due to covid..from my truck rental issues: redoectinging 3 times forcing pick up in 3 distant cities only to result in a VERY DIRTY AND TRUCK WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES to storage security: theft of unit, AND REPWEST NOT ADHERING TO INSURANCE POLICY CONTRACT , with valid proof of break in and losses...I was denied compensation dispite a validation to theft of my unit by the store manager. Improper documentation of policy incin addition, dec 2021, iI paid monthly storage and insurance increase change, dispite reflection of payment to uhaul with a request and payment for insurance policy increase...and the policy did not reflect my request after several request to management to confirm. But Addotion was taken from my bank card receiving the price for the increase from 5000.00 Coverage to 15,000.00. Also, a contractual 24 hour security and surveillance agreement was also broken. The camera did not effectively monitor or record the premise, nor was a security officer assigned to protect my unit which faced a dark street access and ungated access, A bigger issue is faliurure to properly communicatedid the sale of my unit content...when questioned, Management stated all units auctioned as a clear sale after 90 days if no payment is recieved... my payment was made on Dec 2, 2022 and on Jan 30 2023 I received an email thay my entire contents was sold on the 25th for 65.00... I am more than disappointed as a 2 1/2 year custome. I trust uhaul to safeguard my life possessions and family airlooms. Generally the service is kind and enjoyable.. however to avoid the breech of contract and voiding my account out of the system along with treating me like trash was quite hurtful.. I was so upset I went to the bathroom on myself in the store and now experiencing a depression I have never known. Shame on you as a companyomega c. | Overall Experience
The storage unit itself was great! Clean inside and seemed well built and sturdy. No leaks even during Ian the hurricane- However little bits of insulation was falling on my stuff consistently. The biggest problem I had though was accessing my unit. C12. EVERY time I went to use my unit trucks, pods, moving containers, and shipping bins were blocking the access point. When asking the staff they always seemed extremely putout to help move anything. (Michale B) had the most attitude of all. The worst was yesterday when I was told they “didn’t have the keys to those trucks” with no solution. I have even called ahead to let them know I was coming- and nothing was done. After about an hour yesterday, I WAS able to access my unit, however belong made to feel like a problem and not like a paying loyal customer was confusing. I will 100% continue to use Uhaul trucks for my business, as I do large scale balloon installations- but the storage side of things at this location definitely has so issues to be addressed. Yesterday I had the BEST Customer service from Jena over the phone with customer care. My son was unable to help me & I am hard headed enough to unload on my own., Sal was patient with me, explained the workings of the location and devices available to move material from the dock to the unit. I called U-Haul to secure storage. They told me the location I wanted was not available but the 4788 Dorchester facility had a unit available and booked it for me. When I showed up the next day it took over an hour to get the unit ONCE it was my turn in line. Finally received unit, went to unit and took another half hour for them to figure out that the unit was not available and I would have to go to another place. Wasted well over two hours on a day when I was already running a very tight schedule. The attitude of the gentleman helping me with General Manager on his shirt was one of frustration and total lack of compassion. He didn't know how to work the system and kept blaming me for not telling him that I was looking for the first month free storage. I figured since I had already made the reservation and had my contract with me which was up on the counter the whole time, he would recognize this. Had he asked I certainly would have told him. Also once he verified that there were locks on the locker I was supposed to have he went back to computer, spent a few minutes punching some keys and said, "Yep, I was right. I didn't think we had any storage. That's why I asked if you had a reservation" When he asked if I had a reservation, he didn't know I had one for storage. He asked in general. So if he knew way back then he didn't have storage why didn't he tell me then instead of wasting over an hour of my time. And why didn't he believe me when I said there were locks on the storage. Your late fee policy is inconsistent unforgiving and unclear my due date on the 27th I've been charged a late fee as soon as the morning before 6 am of the 28th. I rented a 10x10x8 unit where the door and latch didn’t match up correctly. The round lock I was forced to buy would not work in the lower latch hole so I had use another lock. When I returned a week later I’m locked out. The staff guy refused to unlock the unit so I could unlock my stuff. We finally had to stop all your customers that were waiting so we could force the staff guy to unlock our unit. Upon removing boxes from storage, all stored along the cement wall had mold. The boxes on the floor had water damage. We were on the second floor and unsure how they had water damage. Shelving units - the shelves themselves, also had water damage on the bottom and therefore are no longer useful.
