Only main thing to improve is an easier or simpler summary of any and all charges and if they would become settled charges or are simply pre-auths. Some of the charges are difficult to understand (like the rental rate of $79.00). That's all.Angelique M.
I've rented quite a few times from various U-Haul locations this year and this location, by far, was the worst experience. The person at the front counter greeted me with "Reservation" and was not friendly when going through the rental process. The person he sent out to find the trailer for us sat in an air conditioned truck and let us walk all the way from the office to the back lot because we didn't know where he'd gone, then got out of the truck when we got all the way down there to tell us we needed our vehicle. After I said that we didn't know where he'd gone and had no idea where to pick up the trailer, he didn't apologize for not being more helpful. He was also abrupt about how my husband should back up so he could load the trailer onto the hitch. We had a better experience returning the trailer, however, it was a different employee who assisted. The other problem I had with this experience was that I reserved the trailer from a different location and ended up having to pick it up from a different location. I was sent a text telling me this was happening and that I would be receiving a call a few days before letting me know where to pick up the trailer. I didn't receive the call. If they did call, they didn't leave a message. I ended up having to get online to find out where to pick up the trailer. U-haul shouldn't show trailers available to reserve at locations if you ultimately can't pick the trailer up at the location. If U-haul shows a trailer available at a location, they should make every effort to move trailers around to make sure the trailer is where you reserved it or they should provide a discount on the trailer.JAMES H.

This location in Ft. Myers was great. The gal was efficient and she was professional. The guy that hooked the u haul up was as well. The tires were very good this time too. The last time we rented from this location, a month ago, we had a blow out on I-75. So we were happy to see the trailer was well maintained and had a good set of tires. The whole process was very confusing. I could not call the location and I was told it was "because the lines were forwarded to the national number because of how busy they are on Sundays." I had to go get the dolly after I left because they didn't know in the back I needed it. There did not seem to be any coordination between the person inside and those in the back. When I returned the truck I was checked in by one of the outside staff members on Sunday, but then I was contacted on Tuesday to find out if I returned it. Only to try to contact them via phone and once again I had a long wait time. I was able to contact the location via message and it was acknowledged I returned it. Moving can be pretty crazy even in my situation where I was only moving a chair, but it doesn't help to have chaos with a place who is supposed to be helping you. There needs to be a better process and a way to contact the location even on the weekends. For the price I paid I feel it was certainly lacking, but the location was convenient so it worked.Dianna S.

The desk person sent me to a back area where 2 men told me to get into the truck and move out from the bay. Told me the lights and everything was connected and said they included pads/ Pads were never given, and not only was I charged for them I was again charged on the return for the pads not being there... over $22 i paid for NOTHING. Gave my reserved vehicle to another person because I was not at the facility at the time I suggested in my reservation. I arrived 2 hours later than anticipated. No phone call to see if I was coming. Manager handled this poorly. Ended up with a larger, more expensive truck. Fix your reservation system, either charge something to reserve or call before assuming customer is a no show. The Uhaul @ 2001 Tamiami, Naples, however, was awful. Did not have our reserved transport and seemed to care less that they screwed up our day. Used them for 2.5 years and each time they lacked any sense of customer service. Will now use the Fort Myers location.Charles C.
Used a 4x8 trailer even though there was plenty of this trailer available on their lot they gave us the oldest piece of junk I'm sure they just wanted it off their lot he kept Specifying which trailer he wanted them to give us. When he hooked it up he checked the brake lights and turn signals but never the running lights. We were traveling from Florida to Michigan realizing we had no clearance lights we had to seek out someone to repair this problem in Georgia finding out it wasn't just a simple connection there had been a wire completely cut in half. This is totally unacceptable. In the very beginning I had requested a pick up spot near our home was informed it could be picked up there the day before get a message I have to drive considerably farther to a different location when we arrive there they don't have it sent us to an other location farther yet. I am completely disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience. I feel I should receive some type of reimbursement .JAMESARLOND H.

I chose to pick up online, but when I came to pick up, I had to communicate with two women who behaved awfully, they did not wear masks and came close, they just laughed at requests to leave. The next day I returned the car, and again I had to endure this horror, after following the instructions of the online return service, I had to contact your terrible employee again. I was looking for where to leave the keys, but the employees were rude to me and demanded that I show them the car again. I said that I don't want to, see for yourself, I have all the photos, to which they said that they would receive additional money from me as much as they wanted if I did not follow their personal instructions, I left the truck where I received it, in the same place, but they demanded that I ride the truck about 1000 feet and show the truck to some other employee, although I did everything according to the instructions. The layout of the parking area and storage area are not very friendly for a 26' uhaul. I understand that you cannot change that now but, there are trailers parked in the driving area that could be moved to help with the turning/maneuvering of a 26' uhaul.Leslie A. | Overall Experience

The unit had a zip tie on it when I arrived, which is fine except it was not easy to "pop off" as the office told me and I did not come with scissors. The lock that was supposed to be in my unit was also not there so I had to go back to the office again to retrieve it. Experienced nothing but trouble in Colorado before moving to Florida. First, the bad - reserved getting a hitch installed (in Colorado Springs, an hour away from our home) and then a 4x8 small trailer to take some personal items for our move approx 2 weeks out of our leaving Colorado. Then get a call the day before my hitch installation and they have to reschedule due to no hitch onsite. This happens on a Monday one week before we leave. Then we get a call the next day saying still no hitch and we must reschedule again. This time for Friday. But they agree to install part of the hitch assembly they do have on Wednesday and I drive 2 hours to get that done. Then we get a call saying our trailer is not available and no trailer available for the time we need on the entire front range. Time to panic. I called UHaul myself and find a bigger trailer (5x8) avail in Aurora, Co and reserve it for a Saturday after the rest of the hitch gets installed on Friday. Aurora is a 2-2.5 hour drive one way but at least it's available for Saturday. Thursday get a call from Colorado Springs and the hitch didn't show up scheduled to install now on Friday. Guaranteed it would show up Friday aftn so resked for hitch install at 7AM Saturday and then drive to Aurora to get trailer. Now Aurora calls and says the trailer is not available but they have one for me in Salida, an approx 3 hour drive up in the mtns from Aurora UHaul. Desperate at this point, I agree to go get it. Now for the good parts. The installation person in Colorado Springs installs the rest of the hitch EARLY Saturday morning and discounts the hitch install a little for my inconvenience. Good customer service although imagine my nervousness during the entire experience. The movers will be at my house Monday 8AM promptly and I needed this installation and trailer rental to go smoothly ahead of the moving truck showing up. I then drive up in the mountains to Salida to get the trailer and the people there could not have been nicer along with a TRAILER available for me. No discount or compensation for my inconvenience but I'm not expecting anything from UHaul. I finally get to my home Saturday aftn with a hitch and a trailer despite UHaul's causing me major inconvenience and headaches. The move proceeds smoothly and UHaul's location in Florida goes smoothly and professionally. No, I cannot recommend UHaul for your moving needs as it relates to Colorado locations. They could care less about having the customer change their schedule multiple times and drive untold hundreds of miles to get their services. No letter of apology, minor compensation for my inconvenience and major miles driven and time taken away from my move to get their services. I pride myself in having a good credit rating, so to my surprise, when I got a late payment notice, I was disappointed. But getting the payment done online was easy. My over all experience was great. Moved out June 20th, 1 day before the free month expired. Checked out with Jerry Emanuel, said he would check the unit and send my final receipt. Now I am getting pre-lein notices. I went to the office and had them check out my unit and give me a receipt as Jerry was not there. Now I received yet another lien notice on my unit I have not been in for almost a month. Not a very good experience at all! My storage unit was directly in the way of incoming/outgoing truck traffic and was constantly blocked. I was wrongfully charged $120 for apparently not dropping off one of the 26 ft trucks that I rented in the wrong location...error on U-hauls part. Why in the world would I go to St Francis when my unit is here and I live in Cape Coral? The lines inside the store were horrendous! OMG...you seriously need more staff members. Your facility is GROSSLY UNDERSTAFFED. And to try and contact someone by phone????? Good luck! I moved out of the location on July 2nd, 5 days before my move out was due, and verified it with 2 staff members. Apparently was not closed out in your system and at 1 am in the morning, 10 days later, was charged a late fee and full months rent! Was attempting to load a very heavy item into a 4x8 trailer myself....not a single staff member of your facility offered to help me. A staff member from another facility just happened to arrive and saw me struggling and asked to load it for me. The only good note that I have is that most, but not all, of your staff members were friendly. Alexis was able to resolve my move out issue and corrected the error. Kudos to her! Damages to my property from water and the elements., the unit has day light coming through it and rodents. The Manager tell you one thing. and the assistant another. Only persons who seems to know whats going on is the office girls. The manager ( Jerry ) is rude and is always telling you things that are store policy after the assistant manager tells you something different.
