I was a few minutes late for my appointment. I called several times to let them know I would be late, but no one answered the phone. When I arrived and told them I had an appointment, I was chastised for being late. There where 3 obvious counter workers when I arrived. They chatted for a while with customer waiting. Then 2 left for the day. After waiting for about 10 more minutes, I noticed a counter employee on the other side of a display talking on the phone. After she got of the phone, she took a customer that just walked into the facility. When she finally waited on me, it was hard to understand her because she had a mouth full of piercings and had trouble talking. She was slow, didn't want to be there, and kept referring to me as honey, or sweetheart and love. It was my worst retail experience in years.

Glenn B.The only thing I would consider can be improved is the wheels may need balancing. At 35 and 60 mph it bounces like a horse. This made me worry as I didn't want my furniture to suffer. All else was great.

My van was dirty with stains on seats and sticky pots on the dash and drivers door. The cover for the gas tank was torn off so the hole for the gas to be put in was exposed.

Had a problem running my card for two items I purchased, when I told him forget it the girl at the computer said “ i'm not trying to void this transaction, it's a lot of work for me and then proceeded to charge my card anyway“ I politely told her that that is her job and her answer was “ Yeah, there are a lot of things out of my job†with the manager sitting right there watching. Also, I made the reservation at least a week in advance, I needed an appliance dolly, and when I got there they told me “ sorry, we are all out, nothing we could do“ upon returning the truck, I was rushed out. I asked if they wanted to check to make sure I returned all 12 moving blankets, that they did. however, when I asked them to confirm mileage and gas, they only told me I was golden, would not check and just rushed me out. I have always had a pleasant experience, I never use any other rental company except U-Haul, however, this experience was beyond bad, their attitudes were bad, no customer service skills whatsoever! Whenever I write a review I go out of my way to find the positive, always happy to give a good review, sadly there was nothing good about this experience. I may rent U-Haul again, but I will never return to that location, never!

This store rips people off by lying about fuel levels. Plus truck reeked of cigarettes.

Craig E.the truck was the worst vehicle i have ever driven. the front end shook at times. the steering wheel could turn 90 degrees before the wheels actually started to turn. no cruise control. no usb ports. the truck was so loud inside driving it would give me a headache and was unable to even talk to someone. the trailer lights stopped working half way through the 1100 mile drive. this was a long haul one way move and i was miserable. i have driven many uhauls and this was absolutely the worst one. border line unsafe. had it not been for the tight timeline i would have returned truck and trailer and went with competitor.

john M.What a disaster. I reserved the truck in east Naples, got there at opening and they told me they sent a text changing the location. They did but with the same address in east Naples (check your records). So i had to drive 45 min to fort myers where i waited in line behind 16 people. They will not let the customer put the tow dolly on an empty truck. They said I am not allowed to remove the tow doll, what? How the hell do I load and unload the truck??? Plain STUPID! So i had to come back the next morning to put the dolly on. And there was no one available to help me load the car! I'm a CEO of a $700M company and I promise to share.my experience with everyone! You put me 4 hours behind in 98 D heat. Penskey, budget or ill have the movers do it. Oh and on top of everything your staff in Fort myers has a terrible attitude. One more little tidbit, I can't take the tow dolly off but your staff on both ends of the trip couldn't lift it, but no liability there! You redefine stupid!

I notified another employee who woke him up, but he went back to sleep. The second employee went inside and brought 2 guys out. 1 checked me out and the second checked on your sleeping employee.

Did I mention I filled everything out online two nights before… Why fill out everything online ahead of time because when you come in you have to do everything all over again? Waste of time. Not efficient.

The poor girl working had about 10 people in line to get rentals, and a customer that kept calling, she was so calm to him and told him how busy she was and the only one at the counter, a manager would be calling him back shortly due to the issue he had, and he would call right back, she calmly answered and told him the same thing, he called non stop the hole 35 to 40 minutes I was there. I felt so bad for her!

The computer information did not match the reality of availability. Both times I unloaded and moved many boxes to both occupied spaces, and had to move/reload. 3. The whole experience was bad so I canceled my reservation and asked to be refunded all money and did not rent the space. You really need to have phones in the units to communicate with the staff up front. It was very difficult to exit the gates and navigate around the congested footprint of the facility every time the units were not available. The whole experience was beyond frustrating .

When they arrived, they were greeted by the rudest and most condescending agent ever. She lied that our reservation was not there, so we had to show proof. She insulted my mother and called her names. She then acted like she could not find any other details of our reservation and forced us to produce written proof. She failed to explain anything about how to find our storage facility and was rude again when asked. The moving help ultimately had to guide my parents around the facility and help my parents find the unit. I am extremely disappointed in this customer service and she truly seemed to hate helping customers. Had I not already made these reservations and requested moving help, I would have told my parents to leave immediately. I question that my belongings are safe with staff like her in charge. I wish my mom had caught her name, but she was working on January 11th at 7am. I have never left a bad review but her behavior needs to be addressed.

Also i move out of my storage unit and had to move all my things back to ohio from Florida and they took $200 from me and refused to give it back even tho i was moved out. Which also put me in a bad place in traveling. I was stuck in georgia for like 3 hours. They gave me a flawed truck i had to fix the wipers several times on the truck til eventually it couldnt be fixed anymore and i had to pay to replace it. Which also took from my gas money. On top of all of this the gas tank was not on full at time of pick up and the owner/manager of the location was very rude and very non understanding.

CS told me that everything was changed and we were good to go. They verbally confirmed that the old unit was no-longer on my account and the new unit size was reserved since they only had one left at this location. Zola discovered that CS reserved the new unit size but also activated my other unit. Zola was able to quickly fix the CS error and made moving in easy. The location is super packed with equipment but it is obvious they work hard at keeping the area clear for loading, unloading and maneuvering your vehicle and equipment in and out of the location.

When I first rented two units you had a couple: Manager and his wife who were wonderful and great people and very helpful, same as a very nice Cuban Lady. Then you remodeled and changed management, this time the manager, Jeff was OK, but the guy at the counter, a tall white guy had a very bad atitude, and treated me as if he was above, I don't know his name but most of the people that was at the Colonial Blvd facility under Jeff had that kind of attitude, and also look horrible (white trashy). Then you changed again for a new manager, I was told Jeff was moved to a brand new facility, I hope he has better hiring practice. Under this present management, the air conditioning is kept too high, it must be around mid 80s, very hot and I had lots of clothing and home lingerie there and in rainy season can get mildew. Thus I decided to move it to a different company which is even a little cheaper and have great maintenance. During my moving, I had to rent several times trucks, because I had lot of stuff and wanted to organize it neatly at the new place. Upon returning one of the trucks, stressed & tired as I was, I was received by a black guy outside to receive the truck under a tent, it was a very large truck and I was afraid of hitting one of the tents legs, I was only 6-7 feet from it and I told him my concern. He answered so nastily that the young man who was my moving helper said to me: "that guy sounded like he wanted to eat you alive, like an angry dog barking at you". So I did my best and brought the truck under the tent, and then went to get my own car to load a few things that I had in the truck & wanted to take home, yet...I was so distressed that upon making a turn on the street corner I went over the curb and the side of my right hand side of the car was hit and fell out broken irreparairably. I showed the manager later & he said he couldn't do anything about it because it was just outside of your premises, this accident is going to cost me approx. $500 or more, out of my own pocket because I cannot afford my insurance to go higer. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THAT BLACK GUY RECEIVING THE TRUCK COULD HAVE HAD THE COURTESY OF DRIVING THE CAR A FEW FEET UNDER THE TENT, OUT OF COURTESY FOR A LADY IN DISTRESS, AND AN OLD CUSTOMER, OR BE POLITE AND NICE TALKING SO HE WOULD NOT GET ME SO DISTRESSED. Also, at the counters there is only person assisting customers and prospect customers and sometimes not even one, we have to wait until that person comes from outside, and waste our precious time, specially when we are paying helpers per hour and also renting the truck per hours. Oh, and again, after returning the last truck a white man around (25-32 years of age) in charge of receiving the trucks, had exactly the same attitude yelling/barking at me as I was there waiting to bring the car towards the tent. and to put the icing on the cake: the shock I got when I rented the last time a truck is that I thought I had paid for a whole day (24 hours) and the guy told me it was only for 6 hours, because he had it reserved after those 6 hrs. for someone else, and I had already lost an hour waiting to be assisted and done the paperwork! So you make 2 days truck rental pay out of one truck in 24 hrs? !!! That is not proper and it should be reported to BBB. Which I might do if I do not get a retribution from you. For all the reasons above, I will not recommend your service to any of my connections. My recommendation is that you scan well the people you hire, have enough employees to cover the services you offer, I see the girls at the counter do not last long because is too much work for one person to handle, and the guys are very nasty and do not present themselves with a professional look for the job they perform. Like I said above: the managers are ok, and except for 2 clean cut young boys, one Latin and one American, the rest are frankly gross! I complained to the manager
