Charge customers the correct amount. I was charged an additional $177 after the full amount was already charged. There is no reason I can fathom as to why this was done. Make sure the trucks have proper and consistent maintenance. I had to request for the windshield wipers to be replaced. I was initially given a truck that was blocked in and I could not move due to the stack parking. I had to request the additional equipment I paid for as it was not in the truck. I would have pulled off without it if I did not check for it.Melika B.

It is the same constant problem because Uhaul has no competitors so none of the customer service is ever fast. I got to the location when it was closed at 8am the time of my rental because of the 24/7 pickup when I got there and clicked the button it said wait until 9am when they open. After that I called your general customer service where I was on hold for about 20 minutes. When I did get through they looked into it and said hey its 840 cant you just wait until 9am. She said she would Transfer me to some dept where I could tell me whole story and a manger would call me sometime. I was not waiting another hour doing that and hung up. That was the solution not sorry we fucked all of this up just too bad. Then I got inside and they were just like oh yeah the same van was rented to two people. Still no apology and nothing to compensate me for wasting my time. Every time I rent from Uhaul whatever pickup time you choose assume you will get the vehicle about an hour or two after that because that has always been my experience.Thomas H.

The truck has superficial damage on the surface but didn't disclose in the pictures when I checked in via mobile. Also, inside the cabin, there were ashes in the door handle by the driver's side and drink stains on the dashboard. The air in the cabin reeked usage of marijuanaROBERTA D.

Customer service was excellent, both on check in and out. Price was fair and the trailer I rented served it's purpose. I do have one small issue with the trailer I rented. I used this trailer to transport a HD Trike, I had plenty of room once I got the Trike on but the entrance to the trailer was very tight for this type of 3 wheel motorcycle. Definitely do able just tight. No fault of UHaul but maybe something to consider when purchasing new 6 by 12's in the future. Overall it was a great experience and will use this great service again and will recommend to others.John D.

Two rental requests were made almost 2 wks before rental dates 17 ft one day/around town truck and 5x8 enclosed trailer (one way). Neither rental order could be correctly filled. Both orders were filled with more expensive substitutes ("take it or leave it"). Moreover, the 6x12' trailer required a heavier duty tongue than what I provided, which of course, I also had to pay for, on the spot. The staff at the Bladensburg Rd. (Wash, D.C.) facility were attempting to fill the order, as revised by D.C. Rental Traffic Control. I fault D.C. Rental Traffic Control for insufficient inventory.CRAIG B.

Arrived at the facility and nobody greeted me. I said good morning with no response in return. The gentleman ask to click a link to download my ID without explaining the process. After I downloaded my I'd, the Uhaul employee walked from behind the desk and walked outside towards a truck. I followed him outside. He turned and said, â€œ I didn't ask you to follow me, you need to go back inside.â€ He did not explain why he was walking outside prior to leaving. I asked if was okay if I parked my car outside with no response. I parked my car outside of the facility and received a phone call 2 hours later by an employee telling me that I need to come back and move my vehicle across the street from the location. This put me behind schedule of my vehicle return and I was charged for this inconvenience. I will never return to that location and I will expedite my experience up the the chain!DYRON C.

We always rent from Bladensburg Road location even though it's not the closest location to us, because the manager is really top notch and that's something we really value. The employees are all nice, personable and polite and really make me feel at ease. Although driving a U-Haul is not the most â€œfunâ€ activity for me, the check in process and the vehicles at this location are always, always better than I imagine beforehand and I'm always pleased with my experience at this location once all is said and done. I really recommend Bladensburg Road location when in the DMV! I think we have used them 4x now. Always happy!TOSKA G.

I rated this an excellent because of the young lady and man who helped me. The young man saw that I wasn't at my best that day (health wise), and I believe that he went above & beyond, to make sure that I had a great experience. First, Marcelle provided excellent customer service when I picked up the trailer. But, when I dropped off the trailer there was anything but customer service. I pulled into the return lane. When asked if I would back the large trailer into a spot, I declined due to my poor trailer parking skills and the tight quarters. One male employee then said he could drive my truck and do it. I declined that as well for liability issues. The three employees then began berating me, telling me I couldn't drop the trailer in the return area. They only stopped when I began disconnecting the trailer myself. But the one male employee continued to insult me as he finished the disconnect. I have never experienced this at any rental company. However because there was only one person working and they were extremely attentive and wanted to make sure I knew how to do everything there were other people waiting. I would recommend another staffer because I really appreciate the man that helped us and would not have wanted him to move quicker to the next customer until we were comfortable driving a trailer.Abigail B.

Start with being more welcoming. When you walk in the environment is unpleasant as if they don't want your business. This is the second time I've felt disrespected at the Bladensburg location. I will use another company for my next move. They do not acknowledge you when you walk in, after my truck us pulled up for me the employee just left me outside he never checked on me again to see if I had any questions. As a matter of fact he went to check on his blue older model clunker that was parked outside. Jermaine Grimes told me I could not rent the truck without a secondary phone number. They use every rule in the book to make the process tedious. Usually when someone is transitioning homes you're already overwhelmed to add insult to injury you have to contend with the unpleasantness of the people serving you. That's entirely too much. The rental wasn't free so I won't pay to be disrespected. Even if you give me a free rental I'm not coming back. I'm going to pay Uhaul back for such POOR customer service by taking my business elsewhere. I thought the first time around maybe they were having a bad day. This is the second time so this is how they operate at this location. I regret not saying something sooner. I could have probably prevented heartache for another consumer. They use every rule in the book to repel you, what can you do when time is of the essence, and you have a deadline. NOW I KNOW BETTER. They do business with a air of arrogance, they don't care to compete with other moving companies. Leave and take your business elsewhere if you want or accept our ridiculous terms. As a Pre- Med student I took a few business classes, but I didn't need those courses to see through this nonsense. I'm so done and fed up with the two APPALLING experiences I had I don't care about an apology. I want payback the best payback for me is to take my business to another company. Oh yeah and I'll tell others to do the same. I'll be doing research sooner for my next move. If someone I know is moving I will recommend another company. I want this location CLOSED FOR GOOD. I will spread the word in my public platform if needed. If I have to pay more money with another company I STILL DON'T CARE. Even the manager is USELESS, you'd assume with that level of authority she'd be better than her employees by being more accommodating WRONG!!!! I'm telling everyone I know. Word gets around fast amongst college students. The minute I got the email for this review I opened the email immediately to detail my detest for this location and narrated the Classlessness of the parties involved. You can't bribe me with an apology or free stuff. I'm going to see to it that business is impeded on my end. OH yeah my experience was THAT BAD!!!! They talk at you NOT to you. The best way to describe it is like a criminal being investigated. All of the people working at this location are a joke, they all act the same. When I rented the truck on the web I was forced to select a location on a Sunday, 3 days after my rental. I knew I would return the next day but could not change the return date, or the return location. When I picked up the truck, I was told I could return to any location. I tried to return to U-Haul Capitol Hill on K St., D.C. After standing in the parking lot trying to return via /share for 15 minutes but couldn't change the return location, I found the place was still open but the door is not visible. I went inside to return but since it was 3 minutes before closing the rude man and woman working there would not help me. They said I had to go to the other location or they would charge me a fee. Didn't care at all, just wanted me to get out, so they could close and leave. Absolutely awful. So I had to go to the other location.Phil M.
The location was great but again, there were issues with UHaul's reservation system. I had originally reserved a location closer to where I am located but once everything got messed up with the original pickup in NH, I ended up not only having a â€˜call when in DC' listed as the location, but had to travel further away from my new location in order to drop off the vehicle and equipment. This is of no fault to the location but rather a major issue on the reservation/corporate side of U-Haul.Emily S.
