Better back up system for outages of the credit card system. There are seemingly always delays. The friendly staff make the process bearable but when you are delayed it cost money to have movers waiting.

Our truck was parked very far back between two long columns of other trucks, and the back end was so close to another truck I could not enter the back to check for our materials we purchased. I did not receive the furniture dollys or pads I purchased. Finally, when trying to exit the parking lot an employee had parked another truck over the lines so I was unable to pull away without hitting another vehicle, so I had to fold in the mirrors and wait for it to be moved. Ensuring that trucks are parked in straight lines and not on top of each other would have likely improved the experience.

The Pickup experience was FLAWLESS-- easy and efficient, in a friendly, professional atmosphere. Crystal-- my sales rep-- is OUTSTANDING: technically-skilled and highly proficient, cordial, and an excellent problem-solver; a real Pro! 🙂 The only problem I had was at the Return, because the U-Haul App refused to accept my inputs and photos that are part of the Return process. The App also CRASHED repeatedly. 😡 These problems left me non-confident about the proper recording of my after-hours Return TIME (and thus what I'd be charged in the final invoice.) Fortunately, though, the location staff processed the Return the following morning and did NOT add extra charges, so it turned out fine, in the end 😀

I was not fully informed about insurance options, which proved very frustrating when the truck became involved in a collision incident with another vehicle. The app was also unhelpful in this regard.

Unfortunately, my experience at this location was the worse. I frequently use U-Haul and this was the first time a vehicle I was scheduled for was not available. I called on Saturday 4/27 to have the truck picked up at 8am on Sunday 4/28, however, when I arrived at 8:30am to scan the barcode along with using the app, I kept getting a message that stated, "Get Assistance" "Looks like a piece of equipment has not been assigned for this reservation". The staff started to arrive at this point. One of the agents tried to assist me with the check-in, but, even when she tried, she also kept getting an error and ended up changing my pick -up time to 9am. I expressed concern immediately because I also had U-Haul movers meeting me at 9am. This went on for another 45 mins. I ended up finally getting a van somewhere around 9:40 am, which at this point caused me to miss the 2 hours I scheduled with the movers. Fortunately, for me the mover waited for me to help with my move. This by far was the worse experience I've had with U-Haul.

I was working with an employee who had not yet done a storage unit rental so we needed the manager's assistance, there were some technical difficulties uploading my ID , but I had the time to spare and patience for us to work through the process. I thoroughly enjoyed the managers and employees personalities and had an excellent experience!

I was not checked in properly. I had to follow up with a 10 minute call later the same day, then a 25 minute call two days later. Even after all that, I was not refunded the full amount of the overcharge since they couldn't process the taxes as part of the refund. They did provide me with a $25 certificate for my trouble but honestly what a hassle.

I have never understood why U-Haul would require online verification AFTER you check in. While employees stand behind the counter eating lunch or cutting up. Can they not do this?! I can see it as a benefit while the office is busy but if you are the only customer going online is not useful or quicker.

Very helpful, nice, knowledgeable people. I tried to return the trailer to your S. Capitol St. location because, as it turned out, they were MUCH closer, and they were very unhelpful, bordering on rude. Lousy attitude. As a result, I had to drive to MD on a Friday during rush hour. Luckily, the MD people were excellent and polite.

I rented a furniture dolly. It's $12-15 dollars. However, they charge you $40 dollars if you need to keep it an extra day during your rental. So I paid 40 dollars for an extra day, for the U-haul truck. And they charged me $40 dollars for the dolly. Ridiculous. I have submitted a complaint to corporate. The workers themselves were nice but the pricing is completely upside down. If you get a u-haul, NEVER get a dolly. You can get one at Walmart for less than 40.

Requiring all guests to use the online check-in without having proper instructions regardless of the type of pick up selected during the reservation was counterproductive. There was no clear line within the store itself to pick up keys, which created unnecessary confusion and a lengthy process.

The customer service was amazing but the equipment sucked the ratchets were so rusty. They were not functioning properly. I had to call roadside assistance to help get the straps off my tire. Roadside did come with an hour; I was very much appreciative of that.

The proffesionalism and kindness of the staff varied based on their mood. Getting started was a nightmare yet pressed for time I stayed there. The storage units there are the back halves of older 10ft trucks placed side by side. Being kept outside I should have been able to have 24 access. I am sure the manager tried her best but this location was the location for extra trucks. There is no customer parking available yet they managed to fill every inch with a truck. First few times I had to request to have a truck removed from infront of my storage unit. After that, they avoided parking one infront of my unit. I made it a point to have everyting out within my 30 days. I refused to pay close to $200.00 a month with the service and inconvenience I was put thru. My leaving seemed to have made everyone happy including myself. Again, I am sure the manager did her best. The individual that opened my account was the worst. She showed no signs of wanting to help me. But had no issues helping others that came in after me. I wanted to F******** scream. The guys at this location seemed much more accomidating, friendlier, and very helpful I wish I had gotten names. Not that it matters I hope to never have to go back there again.

What should be simple logistical planning was very difficult. First, I wasn't being charged for a 2nd UBox - it required many calls and a few months to get that fixed. Moving out was also a disaster.
