This location was very disorganized and slow. No manager was available and more service people were needed for the volume of people coming to the location. Moreover we were overcharged for mileage and it isn’t justified we had all mileage laid out and we only put about 8 dollars in gas in the truck. We have receipt showing this yet we were charged for 195 miles.

The 4th or 5th time I've rented from this location, and the staff is always polite and professional. I'm left wondering why more places can't be run as well and as nicely as this one! Kudos whomever is training and overseeing this staff.

First of all, the computers were not working so it took us 45 minutes to get our truck. Second, air had to be put in the tires. Third, the mileage rate is exorbitant.

When I made my reservation, it gave me the option to use the 24/7 mobile pick up so I could pick up the uhaul truck before the customer service desk opened at 9am. But when I got there and clicked on “pick up my reservation” in my uhaul account, it told me that I had to wait until the 9am opening and get the truck from the desk. It’s frustrating to have the 24/7 mobile option but not actually have it. It defeated the point of 24/7 and I wasted time I needed to move out. Also, if that option isn’t available for my reservation, I should’ve been given a heads up BEFORE I clicked that link.

I had several major issues at this location. First, the truck was in the back of the lot behind other trucks and not easily accessible. I had to wander around the facility at 6:00 AM in the cold searching. Secondly, the two utility dollies I requested were not in the truck. I had to wait until an employee arrived at the store to retrieve them. Third, the back of the truck was filthy. No one had cleaned it. I had to sweep it myself when I arrived at my old house to perform my move. Fourth, the truck only had 1/4 tank of gas. I had to fill it up before I performed my move. Fifth, the employee who retrieved my utility dollies for me reeked if marijuana and was clearly under its influence. Overall a terrible experience.

I was told to pay someone else's bill because south capital street messed up my account with someone else's account I was told to pay the bill that isn't mine and then file a police report. What is going on someone please help me

The truck I rented did make some engine noise but otherwise drove well. This location was understaffed when I picked up my truck but the staff I worked with was friendly and knowledgeable. Also, this was not my original pickup location. I had to switch to this location from the one on S Capitol St because the first location said they wouldn’t have a truck for me despite my reservation, which I only discovered when I called to confirm the reservation 24 hours before pickup.

On 12/30/19, this location tried to charge more for the rental than the price on the website where I had reserved and booked the truck. Thankfully, after calling customer service and talking to 3 representatives, it was determined that this location had erased our original reservation so they could double bill us. The representative saw our original reservation and determined that it was manually changed by this location. Big thanks to Laquisha and Michelle at customer service who caught this location in their malfeasance. I don't know if Chris Parker is Manager or franchise owner, but he should know that his employees were being dishonest. If I were U-Haul I would seriously check history and question their integrity. I have rented from U-Haul MANY times and usually everything goes smoothly.

When I dropped the car off. I left a candy wrapper in the car. The agent had the GAUL to say he almost charged me $25.00 To clean the truck. EGREGIOUS!!

Post a sign that tells customers that they should come inside and let the employees know you're returning a truck instead of waiting with your equipment. Don't charge customers for an additional day when your employees don't come out and check your return in and you're on the lot on time.

I got a truck that the bumper was hanging and the tire pressure light was on. When I returned the truck, no one was there to inspect truck. The guy told me to just leave the key. Hopefully I will not be charge anything for the lousy truck I received.

For once at U-Haul, fast service. Guys in the lot work hard and are nice. Manger is so by the book he comes off as impolite and looking for a reason to not rent you equipment. Sort of hostile.

We organized our 15’ U-Haul from the Capitol Hill location one month in advance of our move from DC to SC. U-Haul contacted us earlier in the week to ask us to go to the Bladensburg location instead, as Capitol Hill was out of 15’ trucks. Upon arrival at Bladensburg and after waiting in line for over an hour due to slow service for other customers, we were told that our 15’ truck had just been given away (with what seemed like no care of this incredible inconvenience to us, especially since there was a sign on the screen saying “When you rent in advance we always deliver on time”). We were offered a 10’ truck instead which would not fit all of our belongings. Then we were told we could drive an additional hour to Hyattsville to see if they had a 15’ truck there (U-Haul refused to bring the truck to DC, despite their huge mistake in giving our original 15’ truck away). We then told U-Haul that we were calling Penske to rent a 15’ truck that U-Haul could reimburse us for. While on the phone with Penske, the U-Haul rep told us they had found our truck and it was in the lot. It was frustrating that it took us seeking out a competitor for U-Haul to remedy the mistake and for the truck to miraculously appear. The one U-Haul rep helping us directly tried his best to help us and did seem to care about fixing the situation, but his colleagues who gave our truck away did not care about helping us at all. I don’t know if it was this specific location that caused the poor service and mistakes made, or U-Haul in general, but we do not plan to use U-Haul in the future.

Be consistent in your rental policies. We have used the same credit card to rent trucks and sent several different persons to pick up the vehicle. The card is a company card with an owner on it and sometimes I need to go to the rental facility and sometimes I do not. Do not state that you can do online express check in and just pick up keys when that is not true. We have attempted to get the correct information on the account we had for several years and no one seems to know how we can correct the information. This is just poor service.

I still have not been refunded my $315.00 dollars from my canceled contract.... UHAUL has charged me twice for the same contract. Other than that, the service and the equipment was excellent....

What made this experience excellent was the General Manager Chris. He was very personable, extremely helpful & patient with my inquiries. He demonstrated professionalism & was eager to help me upon my return to keep the line moving. My pick-up experience with the morning staff was a little different, as the employees were having extensive personal conversation amongst themselves while helping customers. However, again Chris is the reason my rating is excellent. He demonstrated exceptional customer service. Per our conversation, I would say his southern hospitality is an added benefit to what makes this location thrive. Thank you for the opportunity to share my feedback.

Scheduling with this facility was very difficult. It's amazing how hard it was just to schedule a time for my u-box to be returned to me. I will not be recommending U-Haul to friends or family.

What should be simple logistical planning was very difficult. First, I wasn't being charged for a 2nd UBox - it required many calls and a few months to get that fixed. Moving out was also a disaster.
