Bad - Check-in sucks. A time management study should be conducted. Check-in wait was too long. Questions asked that were already covered in on-line check-in. Multiple people upfront all servicing one customer. Thereby, causing others to wait. Apparently, "Billy" is the only one who knows how to do things. The truck was excellent and very well maintained but the dolly we paid extra for was terrible to the point we just didn't use it and had to carry everything. The wheels were either worn out or it had been damaged previously. I don't ever make a fuss about anything but I wish I could get a refund. I didn't notice until I took it off the truck and pushed it in my house it felt stiff and just not in good condition and I hadn't put anything on it yet, needless to say it wasn't of any help with once I put it to use. Service was "slow, unfriendly and without a smile" when I picked up the equipment. Too much "chit-chat" going on amongst the employees unrelated to the task at hand - which made service very slow.. General Manager was on-duty, on the phone, and on a mission to make everyone aware she was the General Manager. Over-all culture rating would be a 3 out of 10 (with 0 being worst and 10 being best) for the day crew when I picked up the equipment. Everyone seemed to be in Slow Motion - except for the two workers that received the equipment back at the time I turned it in. They were not at work earlier in the day when I picked up the equipment - but demonstrated energy, enthusiasm and team work.john N.

The truck was old and had very many of the â€œcircle dot stickersâ€ on it, including one on a broken mirror. The truck had a bad vibration at highway speed and the power steering pump whined when turned. Being a retired OTR truck driver, I feel I am qualified to rate this truck as not being road worthy. None of the equipment, I ordered, was on the truck when I arrived for pick up. Even though, I called and verified my reservation the day before. Also, the appliance dolly didn't have stair runners on it. All in all, I was very disappointed in the service I received and am very glad I will not have to use Uhaul again.Bryan S.

Pay better, so as to retain better people. The staffing level was low on what could reasonably be expected to be a busy day. I was in line for twenty minutes before being told that the trailer I had reserved (5x8) was not available. When I said I would use an open trailer, the first one assigned to me was not available, resulting in an additional twenty minute wait while the contract was changed again. Delays at the U-Haul store took up an hour of daylight I could have used seeing what I was doing with my move.THOMAS A.

Good morning, I am very confused on why i was charged for fuel, the fuel was on a quarter of a tank when i left and the exact same when i returned. Then when i get the receipt (which i could not get in store because they said there would be a wait even though there were 3 people working and nobody in office) im charged $30 for them to fuel the vehicle and $25 for fuel. Which is completely outrageous. This has to be a scam to get extra money. The check engine light was on, on the vehicle it was also next cleaned in the cab as well, soda all of the cup holder area, im also posting this as a review as well, because im sure this wont be handled properly.joshua W.

I checked out the truck with 1/8th of a tank of gas, drove 23 miles, and put a little over 3 gallons of gas in it before returning it-it had more than 1/8 of a tank of gas when I dropped it off. The location still charged me $12 for 2 gallons of gas and a $1 environmental fee. I took a picture of the gas gauge when I dropped it off that shows over 1/8 of a tank of gas.Michael M.

I specifically asked if my new bike rack could be installed/attached to my new hitch when I made the reservation. I was assured in three separate conversations that this would be no problem. The man who actually installed the hitch, however, was apparently never informed and (quite rudely) refused to do it. I am an older woman who lives alone, the rack is heavy and big, and I cannot install it myself. The whole reason I got a hitch was for the bike rack, and so is useless to me without the rack. I wish I'd never done business with you. I wish your various employees would communicate with each other so you would give customers accurate information.Dale P.

The face to face experience and the condition of the vehicles I rented was very good, in fact when I returned the van, after closing, there were some employees there working late who came out and checked in the van, which was going above and beyond as far as I was concerned. That said, after returning my van I was missing a notebook that I needed. I tried to call the location and after 45 minutes and two diversions to a call center I hung up and tried again. The second call took about 5 minutes to get to a human, still too long. The determination to steer customers to the web site can get in the way of service.Karen L.

The vehicle was dangerous to drive because it shook and vibrate extremely rough. The brakes were super touchy and caused a drink to spill. This location over charged my card and this experience cost way more than expected!! Will use Budget rentals next time.Ted H.

Customer service is not their expertise. There is no since of urgency. Everyone walks around like they have their heads cut off. Equipment is not held for those whom reserve them weeks in advance. No compensation for your time and inconvenience. I reserved a 17" U-Haul and was given a 15". It took me and hour to get something out the door and once something was found me and an employee went on a search for the keys as I was told they were in the van. Just unorganized and unfriendly. People see you standing in line and continue doing whatever they are doing like they don't have a job to do. The manager is the worst she walks off every 10 minutes in and out of the office and out to her car. She shows no sense of urgency or care to put her customers first. I would much rather rent from a competitor and spend more money and know that I'm going to have a more pleasant experience rather than know I can rent something a little cheaper. I called 30 days prior to my rental date and requested a 26' truck to move furniture to a location 140 miles from our home. The "lady" who I spoke with ensured me we would get at 26 footer. I received their confirmation in my email and it indicated a 20' truck. I called the location and the "lady" told me to disregard that and that a 26 footer would be available and they would handle it when we arrived to pick up the truck. When we got there the only truck available was a 20' truck which was not large enough for what we were hauling. We were stuck. We took the 20' truck and moved what we could but will now have to rent another truckRon F.

As a former GM of a center in Savannah Georgia I know how much Joe Shoen cares about customer service and the service I received was pitiful The staff was rude and it was obvious that there was no Level 1 inspection completed considering the van body wasn't swept out and the windows were filthy. The GM of this center should be terminated immediately along with the entire staff. And considering that the Marketing Company office is located at this center then the MCP's job should be considered for a change if a center can be this poorly managed right under their noseRussell C.

When my father and I walked in, four employees were in there and they just looked at us without saying anything. Finally after at least 10 minutes, a fifth employee helped us. The truck we had reserved was gone and it took about 20 minutes for them to find us a new one. While there, employees were yelling at each other and one was yelling at the phone to stop ringing. One employee looked at me and then whispered to another employee. I'm a manager and I wouldn't have these employees working for me. They were completely unprofessional. You could tell they didn't want to do their job or help customers.Robert S.

Staff was very accommodating and I was in and out in a very short time. I was however charged for a shipping blanket that I was not issued at the initial rental. I assume some fault but I don't think I should be charged for a service I did not receive. Hello , I would like to say I had a bad experience for the first time. I had a reservation for Sunday September 4th at 10:30 pm. Without my permission apparently the manager working that day changed my reservation to 9:30 am. I had to be moved out by end of the 5th. Luckily a few minutes after I got to store that night and couldn't do my mobile check in, the field service manager just so happened to walk by, he was able to help me, his name was Gary McFarland. I appreciate him but not the manager who went in and changed my reservation without my consent. I don't feel as if I owe $114 which I was charged. There's also an additional $20 charge pending. Considering a manager changed reservation without my consent I don't feel like the charge is feasible. Never have had this experience with U-Haul before. I'm so lucky the field manager walked by the store when he did.Christian P.

I went to reserve a truck on Thursday and it took almost an hour with the man claiming to be the manager â€œMr Savageâ€ barely able to do basic operations. When I returned on Saturday, an hour before my reserved time, the two of the three folks at the counter were again unable to conduct basic tasks without assist stance from a lady who now claimed to be the manager despite Mr. Savage sitting next to her. After an hour wait in line and a computer problem when Mr. Savage accidentally kicked the power supply while leaning back on a stool to get the key causing the need to reboot the computer and start the check process over again. At that point Mr. Savage loudly announced this would be his last day on the job because he couldn't stand the work any longer. The manager had to personally find the six mats I had rented as two other employees said they were out of mats, which they weren't. The manager was the only reason anything got done. Every time I went in to make a payment on my storage unit, I waited at least 30 minutes to an hour every time. I waited so long once that the person behind the counter promised he would credit my account $25. But then he had "computer issues" and said that he would credit my card the next day. That credit never came. I mentioned it to someone the next month, and they said they would take care of it, but they didn't. I gave up trying to get it back.
