Donald RWe truly enjoyed the experience with the U-Haul Du Centre-Ville De Montréal Cité 2000 - Entreposage (on 2000 Notre Dame E) the facility was clean, and any questions we had about accessing storage were answered promptly. But the highlight of our experience was definitely our interactions with Leticia, a staff member. We lost a necklace that was incredibly sentimentally valuable - it was my grandmothers, who recently passed. We were distraught, but when we called the U-Haul, Leticia helped us on her free time. She not only found the necklace, but she also fielded multiple correspondences from us to make sure that and kept it safe until we were able to send a trusted friend to pick it up (as we didn't live in the area.) When the necklace handoff happened, Leticia personally oversaw the affair and made sure that our friends' ID was checked. Overall, we are extremely thankful to her for returning us this invaluably sentimental item.
Deepashika S | Overall ExperienceI came 30 minutes before closing. They asked me to put the key in the drop box, they'll do the check-out the next day and I'll received my bill next day. They charged me extra fee for the gaz, but I put more gaz than what they give me at the check-in. I'm sure if they did the check-out with me they'll never charge me extra for gaz because I could be there to contest ! I spent 20 dollars for gaz for 55km...I'm pretty sure it's more than what I really spent...anyway I felt robbed ! Be careful and make sure to do the check-out in person with the agent...

CAROLL SAll went well, and the Cite 2000 location were Excellent A+ but We had to drive a total of 250 km to Montreal and back to get the truck because there were apparently non in the Magog and Sherbrooke area , and the the dealers did not respond to phone or text messages to tell us that until the day before.

Serge AStaff had a hard time giving us the dimensions of the truck and even understanding what a foot and inches were. We were eventually helped by a more competent and patient staff which we appreciated.

RICHARD Veverything was nice except the appilcation to take the truck. it was impossible to take the picture of me. i had to wait 45 min that the store open to have my truck.
MAGALI HI did the reservation online with the app. But it gave me a truck in a second row, behind other trucks. So I had to get inside for being helped. The employee à the desk gave me another truck.

Nous avons demandé un dépannage que nous avons annulé 15 minutes plus tard car quelqu'un nous a aidé mais uHaul Nous charge quand même le dépannage. Nous sommes pourtant des clients réguliers et fidèles. Rien n'était de notre faute la camionnette louée ne valait rien. Très décevant
DANIEL DI had 2 issues with my rental this weekend. I had made a reservation for a van but was told on site that there wasn't any and that I would get a 10 feet truck instead. I was not comfortable driving a bigger truck and was never notified of this change before hand. Secondly, there was some hard-packed ice/snow on the steets in Montreal and I could not get out of my parking spot. The tires were just spining and spinning. 4 season tires do not work in Montreal climat!!! I had to go around and look for «traction aids» to get out of my jam. this caused a one hour delay! Traction aides should be provided in all trucks. I must say that I did however got good service from the staff at the location.
BRIGITTE BVery poor experience based on the accountability of the manager over the elevators being shut down for weeks with no correspondence as to functional operation being restored. Notification over access to my belongings was limited to a single, unprofessional French text message. I was given a month's rent as compensation, but it wasn't nearly enough to cover the inconveniences I faced. Additionally, the delays caused by UHauls general service for truck rental forced me to travel far to another facility to pick up a truck move with. The staff was generally friendly while dealing with management but some desk clerks showed high levels of incompetence and disregard for quality service or any professional demeanor.
William P | Overall ExperienceI rent a truck for 1hour U-haul charged 2 times, I had a bill of 240$ The transmission was broke When I came inside to give the key, I told the guy the gas line at the beginning wasn't the same as they told. I sho the beginning and the return how they were the same and finally they still charged me more for the gas. They called me 2 days later because they thought I still have the truck when an hour later the same day they had the key and truck back. I needed to pass an hour on the phone explaining that they charged me double and an false amount. Really bad experience
MAGGY FBe clear on the mileage. I was told that I have 200 miles and not kilometers before I start being charged for the extra mileage. I was charged $6 extra, good thing for me I didn't use the full 200 miles. I only used 150 something I think I remember

Ciaran KU-Haul changed my location originally to a place very far from me. I had to call back multiple times to change that. And received no compensation for a change in location

ELIE KMy biggest problem with using U-Haul trucks is the amount of gas they use. I had a 15-foot truck today and drove about 50 kilometers, without carrying any cargo, and I used about 40 liters of gas. That's 80 liters per 100 kilometers. That's a lot.
MOHAMMAD HI've been very satisfied with your facility over the many years that we have rented a storage locker with you. But when you recently removed your employee from the front desk, it became much more inconvenient to access our locker, and it led to me to decide to move out. Your location isn't set up as a self service space and you make us do more work than we used to have to to access our locker. I understand the decision to do this was from your head office in the USA and not a local decision. They should know that they lost at least one customer because of it. I will add that we didn't even get an email telling us of this change. Anyway, thank you for your service over the years.

The day of they removed it and let me hanging. I have to leave the car in mtl while I drive the truck to Ottawa. And they left me hanging. Do not use them

HUGO LSame comment as last time- stop renting vehicles without a full tank of gas. I ended up overpaying for gas again. It is too difficult and annoying with modern digital fuel gauges. It is lazy on your part.

alejandro tProviding a rental vehicle without a full tank of gas is completely ridiculous. I was told the truck at 3/8 of a tank when the gas gauge only had marking at 1/4 tank intervals. Who is to say if it was 3/8. Maybe it was 5/16 or 11/32 of a tank. Either way when I went to the gas station to carefully try and get the tank back to 3/8 I kept turning the key to check how much gas I was putting. When I thought I had put enough I started the van but the needle wasn't exactly at 3/8 so I pumped more gas. Then when I started the van the second time I had put nearly half a tank. I feel like the gas gauge wasn't accurate until the van had been started, turned off and then started again. Lesson learned but in any case giving a rental vehicle without a full tank of gas is lazy and stupid.
Christopher BJ'ai rempli d'essence exactement là ou le gage était au départ. sur votre fiche de retour vous l'avez mis à 1/2, et m'avez chargé 22$ pour 11 litres. J'ai une facture d'essence comme quoi je l'ai rempli. Et la denière fois, j'avais mis trop d'essence, on m'a dit qu'on me créditerais l'équivalent d'une coche de gaz sur ma prochaine location, ce qui aurait dû annuler ce supplément d'essence si jamais s'avait été le cas que je l'avais ramené moins plein. Vous devriez remplir les véhicules à 100% comme n'importe ou, (sauvageau, kiroule, légaré...) et que les gens les ramenent plein. Ça serait moins compliquer pour que de gosser à la pompe pour arriver à peu près au niveau qu'il était et des surprises d'une surcharge de 20$ comme le scam que vous me faites présentement.

MICHAEL MWhen I reserved I asked to pick up the trunk at 2000 Notre Dame. They gave me a pick up point far from there. It was very complicated to change it. Nobody at 2000 Notre Dame were helpful. Until I insisted and finally they change it.

Lachine, à pied, avec vous idée comment c'esr faire ça avec du stock? J ai donc loué cette unité pour ca, et parce que rendu la, ca coute moin cher. Lachine m ont demandé de splitter le contenu de Mon ubox dans un nouveau. 1 mois gratuit, et apres ca, le 2e coute PLUS CHER que le premier, de genre 5$.. Je voens d'adresser la demande de transfert des 2 ubox pour transférer ca dans le storage. Pas possible avamt la semaine prochaine. He bin, lors de ma location de ubox précédente, ca a pris autour de 3 semaines avant de les recevoir. Si je lai ai la semaine prochaine, ce sera une tres grande amélioration ! Il me reste 50$ en credit ubpx a recevoir. J ai recu deja 50$. J ai un document qui mentionne la date de la livraison initiale, donc 2 jours = 2X 50$ .... Depuis ma location du storage, j'ai eu droit a un cadenas vert, pour m informer l obligation du cadenas-disque. Un accès suspendu pour je sais pas quoi, ils ont changer mon codeet ça fonctionnait. Maintenant, j ai droit a un "code inconnu" car vous avez supprimé celui-ci du système d'acces car vous voulez me parler, qu'ils m'ont dit. Vous serai presente dans 2 jours. Lors de mon contact initial pourla prise de possession de l unité, on m as dit qu ils pouvait pas m aider, tout ce fait en ligne. J ai donc niaiser 45 minutes afin que l application accepte les photos de mes ID. Pourquoi maintenant je dois constamment me présenter au comptoir. Il y a une section communication dans l'application, je vous invite à l'utiliser. Si ce n'est pas possible, vous pouvez tentez de me joindre par téléphone. Vous me faite perdre beaucoup de temps dans ce dossier. Si il y a un quelconque problème, je veux que vous m'en faite pars rapidement car je ferai shipper les ubox ailleurs et mettera fin a tout mes services chez u-haul. Ceci etant SOUS TOUTES RESERVES ET SANS PREJUDICES. Je vous demande à vous et votre equipe d'agir avec serieux et professionnalisme.... Les employés qui ont ete le plus professionnel dans votre equipe, c'est les 2 plus jeunes! Honte a vous! Merci, Philippe Darsigny
Philippe D | Online Move InFlood damage on August 9. Elevators inaccessible for at least 5 weeks following flood. I was unable to move out on my scheduled date. This caused me additional expenses. Lady manager surly, unresponsive and borderline hostile. I had noticed before the events but it didn't really matter as I did not need to interact with her too much before the flood. I accessed the facilities numerous times in the weeks following the floods without having to swipe my card or speak to anyone. Security was inexistant. The hallways are still lit by temporary generator provided power and the restrooms are dark. No refund or partial refund even offered. Other than that, the regular employees are nice enough and the units are as expected. This was the third time I had rented a unit a this location.

Claude D | Overall ExperienceFollowing the flooding, i didnt have access to my locker for 3 weeks, no crisis communication from U-Haul (cité 2000 was managing the crisis but nothing from the headquarter neither). I spent hours to phone without getting proper answer. Finally, after three weeks, i was able to move in the dark (still no électricity). Everything was open without any security, no staff on the Ground. My objects could have been stolen. So i understand the crisis due to the flood but this is a very poor management of the crisis. Headquarter should have put more effort and staff to help local team to handle better.

J'aurais donné 5 étoiles avant de vivre le drame de l'évacuation précipitée mensongère. Victime du bris d'aqueduc, mon unité du 2e sous-sol a été inondée sous 12 pieds d'eau. Bien que ce soit la ville de Montréal qui soit responsable et non U-Haul, je n'ai pas apprécié la manière dont on nous a fait évacuer les lieux par surprise, sans préavis. Le jour même de la visite de constat des dommages, qui selon les textos devait être une relocalisation dans une unité sèche, on nous a demandé de vider notre unité, en mettant à notre disposition une autre unité, mais en précisant que "rien de mouillé ne pouvait y entrer" et que tout devait être sortit avant 5 pm !!!!!!!!! Dans la précipitation, impossible de trouver une solution pour faire sécher ce que j'espèrais essayer sauver. Même pas le temps de comprendre ce que je jette, tout est détruit on distingue plus grand chose. J'ai été forcée de tout jetter à mon plus grand désarroi, une deuil terrible, tellement cruel auquel je n'ai pas pu me préparer, alors qu'ils savaient ce qu'ils allaient nous imposer depuis quelques jours. Quand on paye un entrepôt, c'est bien évident qu'on a pas la place pour son contenu chez sois, donc non je ne peux pas prendre le camion gentilement prêté pour amener chez moi la boue dégoulinate de tas poubelles tristes. Désespérée j'ai pris quelques tableaux tordus, pourrit et délavés pour m'accrocher à quelque chose. 10 ans à payer un entrepôt pour garder en sécurité l'héritage familial, pour perdre la totalité de son contenu. Ils auraient pu au moins être honnête et dire la vérité dans les communications pour nous permettre d'avoir le temps d'essayer de trouver une solution pour faire sécher les biens. Je suis dévastée, en colère. Rien de ce que j'ai perdu n'est remplaçable, c'était des collections d'oeuvres d'arts, tableaux, créations, cinématographiques et théâtrales, scénarios, oeuvres professionelles historiques, fait par la famille. Des archives ancestrales de 5 générations. 10 ans à payer pour La Sécurité d'un entrepôt pour tout perdre. Les gens sur place ont été gentils, et re.plis de compassion... mais la direction a clairement fait une erreur en cachant la vérité les jours précédent la "Visite d'inspection de dommages et relocalisation", qui s'est avérée être : "Venez jeter vos biens, tout est perdu".

First of all I ordered 2 uhaul containers, I sent all the photos and necessary information for the delivery and then I've been advised less than 24h before delivery that it won't be possible. I had to find another option last minute, rent a truck and a storage. When I arrived the day after with my truck full I realised that we had stairs to access the storage!!!! nobody Informed me. Also the woman at reception was not friendly at all, really bah attitude and service. On top of that nothing has been offered to me, no discount for all the trouble! I didn't have other option at this time so I didn't have other choice than to stay but It's the last time I'm using Uhaul. It cost me more than it was supposed to do and lot of trouble on top of that.

The reason was that it was not open until 7 though on your website, the contract, and the store print clearly stated access hour is 5 am - 10 pm. He asked me to talk to his boss and cursed at me. It was unbelievable. I called the customer service and was told the manager would call me back. Today is April 5th, I have yet receiving any response from anyone. Overall, I found most employee at UHauls were friendly. But, that particular guy's behaviour at this location and the unresponsiveness from the management are just simply unbelievable.

Needless to say, during a very stressful and difficult time in my personal life, waking up to believe that all of my life's possessions and almost $20k worth of musical equipment and instruments was gone put me at the threshold of having a heart attack. I was disturbed by the lack of accountability or offering to make things right. The person who I called confirmed my locker was still locked and in my name and offered me a free month, although no email to confirm that offer came through and no one was willing to honour or even contact the manager for a reasonable conversation about a gesture towards my inconvenience when I finally did empty my locker one week later. I got out of there as fast as I could because you may just rent empty spaces but people fill them with their lives. Really expected some form of a gesture as the person I spoke to on the phone that morning said the email was sent to the wrong person and he profusely apologized to me. I have screenshots of the email date vs the date I actually checked out if anyone is interested in corroborating this complaint. The staff at the desk during check in and check out, although unable to help me with my complaint, were kind polite and professional.

DANNY M | Overall ExperienceI was initially (and repeatedly) informed that there was a problem with my storage unit payment by email and advising me to log into my account. Since I do not have an online account with U-Haul Du Centre-Ville De Montréal Cité 2000 - Entreposage (my payment details were set-up in person), these daily emails very stress provoking. They also did not indicate what the problem was and/or provide an alternative means of contact. After following up with my bank on August 11th, I managed to contact the U-Haul office to advise them that the problem was at their end (phone call/conversation also on August 11th). I was then informed that this information would be passed along to the Manager, who would text (preferably) or phone if further follow-up was indicated (no text/phone message was received). Unfortunately, the emails persisted until I then received a notice of late payment, but with specific contact information. I immediately followed up by phone (August 16th) and explained the situation, after which, the issue was rectified very quickly and easily. However, this entire situation caused me unnecessary worry, stress, and time, which could have been avoided by providing: - direct contact information (phone/email/webmail) for U-Haul Du Centre-Ville De Montréal Cité 2000 - Entreposage to facilitate rapid resolution/clarification of any issues; - additional information about the respective problem to avoid the email recipient regarding it as spam; - messages in both official languages (many 'movers' to Québec will not be completely fluent in French); - and avoid 'harassing' long-term reliable clients with vaguely worded 'quasi-threatening' messages.

What made the difference in the end was that there were no hidden fees and they did not require us to purchase their insurance (our home insurance already covers our property while in storage). The facility is clean and we are happy with our choice.

Votre competition est beaucoup supérieure en terme de qualité. The floors are full of holes. That makes the storage experience much less positive. Washrooms are in poor condition. Other locations are by far superior.

Barbara S | Overall ExperienceThe system doesn't allow you to be independent. You always need to phone the Intercom when you get in and out of the storage. The issue is mainly the parking. In order to park the car you have to ask them to open the garage. To load the car there is a huge difference of level so that if you have very heavy things it's impossible to transport them on the cart provided. You might need 2 people to lift any heavy object and place it on the cart. No assistance at all to understand where my door is, what is the entire process of registration, what they need. I had to go back and forth 3 times cause nobody told what was the entire process and they gave me 1 indication at time. The first Time I waited the agent to have assistance about the registration and I was addressed to another reception. They have me indications about where the office was but nobody moved to show me the way. Of course by being a place where I've never been there were different doors and o wasn't sure the reception one was down the corridor. I had to come Back and ask again. Once there I had to wait few minutes and once avails they asked me a document I didn't have and had to come back to the car to take the right one. I had already done the payment of the storage online and tought it was done. Lomg story short, also to find the door it's been a nightmare as I was rushing and from 12.30 I arrived I got out at 3pm only to deposit 2 bags and little things. It's a big no.

I was able to reserve and use a storage space and the access is very secure and everyone was very nice in helping me in English regarding making my reservation and using the storage space itself. Renting the trailer was the oppostie experience as it was a total nightmare. I would rent a storage unit again at this location because it is so secure but renting the trailer was just short of disaster.

The yearly increase should be within the Québec Rental Board rules and clients should be notified by email of the "automatic " yearly increase. There was a time I couldn't reach anybody by phone so I had to call the head office in the USA.

terry m | First ImpressionsI reserved for move in date online, was provided a storage room...we get there and there was already a lock on it ( someone using it) so then im told there are no others free. Am given a temporary smaller unit on 3rd floor...we open it..the floor stained brown from drips from the upstairs unit and then we find USED NEEDLES in the crack at the top ( dropped from top unit) i can just imagine what those brown stains were from...was given no other solution. We cancelled and returned home. I will never use uhaul storage they have poor service and allow drug use in their facilities. They obviously do not follow protocol and customer service is horrible.
