I was very satisfied with the equipment and the people with whom I dealt. The only weak point is that even if I fully registered online ahead of time to expedite the picking up of the van (incl. photo of driver's license, key contacts, credit card info and all), I had to go through the whole process again once I got to the counter. The service attendant asked me the same questions again, entered the same info and all. I understand verifying if the person who registered online is the person picking up the vehicle, but there was no time saving by checking in online... Other than that, would use again, no problem.

I reserved a pickup and told my econoline was ready. The Manager asked another worker how to complete a rental. The return instructions on the window should be inEnglish also.It cost me $20 because I could not follow the French instructions.Very poor administration.I have rented several yeas .the clerk asked me for myMedicare card.Myinfo is in the computer Train your employees.

I booked a 20ft truck on the 24-7 share app for a 9pm pickup. When I arrived to pick up my truck, the keys left for me in the lock box were for a 15ft truck. Being after office hours, there was no way for me ask for the correct truck. This was a guaranteed rental. I was NEVER contacted and told that I would not be receiving the truck that I booked. I was left using a truck that was 2 small for my needs. This caused we an extra trip and therefore having to pay more fuel and mileage costs.

The workers were super stressed because of the unnecessary stress they are put under by their higher-ups. With moving being an already stressful event by default, I wish U-Haul employees would be able to provide a relaxed and supportive environment to their customers. That being said, it is not their fault directly but that of the managers /higher-ups who are applying so much pressure which trickles down the chain of commands.

Nous n'avons pas eu le bon camion a la réservation. Nous avons demander un 15pieds mais il l'avait donner a quelqu'un d'autre qui avait demander un 10pieds. Nous avons du faire plusieurs voyagement plutôt qu'un. Lors du retour, nous nous étions stationner devant le temps de redonner les clés, ne sachant pas que nous n'avions pas le droit. Celui qui s'occupait des retours est venu crier sur mon frère pour qu'il bouge l'auto ( il n'a même pas de permis ). Tout ça pour une histoire de 5 minutes même pas. Habituellement je n'est jamais de problème avec vous, mais la, ça faisait dure.

1. App is unusable: I used the app to reserve and choose self-pickup. Upon arriving at the location the app was always saying Failed to send OTP during login. 2. Severely understaffed location: Even with the reservation I have to wait 20 minutes to get my keys even though we arrive 15 minutes earlier. After that when I got my vehicle to back up some stupid driver put their truck and block our only way out. We had to wait another 20 minutes for the same U-HAUL worker to finish servicing her customers and then move the stupid driver's van. 3. Door QR code does not work for after-hours drop off: The QR shows the page is not available.'? Seriously? The VAN that I drove was spacious and well suited to our needs and reasonable for the price and distance. I would go with turo next time though.

This is more of a complaint: While taking the pictures of the van before heading out, we got locked out with the keys inside. I understand it was a mistake on our end, and we are not blaming UHAUL for it. However, when we went to the staff for help, he straight up said NO. The closing time was at 7:00 PM and it was somewhere between 6:20 - 6:40 PM at that time. He said to come back the next day and book another one. He didn’t want to help because that might require him to stay longer than closing time. He said he has a family to go back to and I respect that. But, he shouldn’t have handled it the way he did. We didn’t argue with him, but it felt terrible to be treated that way. Luckily, he told us about the taxi services that unlocks the vehicle for you. And we were able to do it ourselves. It cost us an extra $40. I am not asking to get refunded or anything. I just wanted to share this experience so that UHAUL can improve their customer interaction for situations like this. I am sure there must have been a spare key. Only if the staff was tiny bit more empathetic, it could have saved us some money lol Thank you

The actual price was double the estimation and the employees could not explain why. When we came back, the employee that closed our contract told us our total was the total of the deposit. If we didn’t say anything we woudn’t have gotten our deposit back. I spoke to the manager about it and again communication was very hard. Overall terrible experience, would not recommend to anyone.

The truck was well maintained and the rental went well overall. My only note is that the staff delivered information in a dismissive manner. At pickup, the clerk was rushed and inattentive, speaking with a colleague while completing my order request. When I returned the truck, the clerk took the keys and walked away without explaining the check-out procedure to me. I left the transaction unsure if I would be charged extra for anything as the staff did not communicate with me.

Les employés du U-Haul St-Jacques font preuve d’un manque de professionnalisme extrême. L’employé qui s’occupait de ma réservation était clairement nouveau, et plutôt que de l’aider, la gérante parlait haut et fort de maladies transmises sexuellement avec un autre employé, en même temps qu’elle était sur un appel FaceTime personnel. Lorsqu’elle s’est finalement déplacée, elle était impolie et agressive. A notre retour, la gérante a barré les portes plus tôt que l’heure de fermeture annoncée à l’entrée et sur le site web. Ma pire expérience chez U-Haul.

Locker was secure and clean and the hallway outside the locker was well lit. However, lighting inside the locker was too low. Also, it was easy for the moving company to move my furniture in and out of the locker. The office staff were friendly and helpful. I would certainly use that facility again.

Was surprised to be told I needed to go sweep and mop the van when I returned it, never had this been the case with any rental I’ve had. Despite only using it for 40kms over the duration of rental I didn’t see the price adjusted to the best rate based on the mileage, I was just charged as originally estimated, which isn’t as per statement in contract which states best price will be provided once vehicle returned and mileage calculated.

I really did not like being charge 13$ for returning the truck 90% full, like the picture that I have as proof, and not 100% full like you claimed it was. Plus I was there at 18:05. But since the gentleman was busy with another client, he wrote my returning time 10 minutes later. Beside thise 2 issues, the service was excellent. Cheers

The fuel and mileage was not accurate. I received the final bill with the wrong starting mileage and the fuel marked on the receipt doesn't reflect what I left it with. I wasn't charged for fuel so that is fine but I did less mileage than what was billed. I submitted a photo before leaving U-haul with mileage and fuel gauge on your app and have pictures after returning the vehicule(the mileage on return is accurate on my bill. Most of the staff friendly, vehicule very clean.

The employee said we had 150km included at the price and would be deducted from total when we got back they told us nothing was included and price went up another 49$ Paid a truck rental 400$ for 6 hours plus gaz. Spoke to the facility manager Julie and told me that she understood that her employee made a mistake and will let him know but there is nothing she can do and i need to pay Thieves will never deal with you guys again!! Just reserved a 16 foot with Enterprise for 99$ including 50 km and the 0,20 addiones for next week

Every single time I use uhaul I get an over charge even when I put in extra gas , uhaul needs to adjust the way the charge people after they drop off truck . I have proof that I put in more gas then I should of and still got charge . I will be using a different company for now on .

Horrible experiences to have after 2 year and half renting a smaller storage at 253 per month in the U-Haul (De Saint-Jacques - Déménagement Et Entreposage 7350 Boul Sainte Anne-De-Belle Montreal, QC H4B1T4) location. Horrible experience. The manager who is a psychopath. The manager who is a woman asks the client to out three or third times. Abusive language and act like a woman mafia. The manager was etremely rude to deal with client. The small 10 square foot storage costs 253 per month x 29 month and The U haul truck rental for 5500 and The clients pay 12,800 CAD dollars in total to have to deal with a woman psychopath. It is insane. Horrible experience. I never think U Haul has been degradation like this. Moral degradation....

The Van looked new and clean, but extremely noisy. Something was loose and even without high speed (around 20 to 30 km/h) it was super loud the noise. Maintenance is needed, not only cleaning.

I was at the location to make a reservation. Different people gave me different rates, which was confusing. Finally, they gave me the rate of 309.28. However, today I found out that the receipt has been changed and they charged me an additional 159.04. The guy there, named Mehdi, had told me there wouldn't be any extra charges. Now, it's been taken from my credit card without my consent.

Was given a frozen truck : had to remove the ice and snow, no help or tools provided. While doing so, I was rudely asked to move my vehicle from where it was (no indication anywhere where to park). The truck was unaligned, which made it hard to drive. I was charged for 230km when I have proofs that I did less than 150 (99+27, to confirm, google tracking i on and follows me everywhere). When I told the manager it was impossible, she did not even want to listen or answer my question: who inspects the odometers? I did touch a button close to the wheel when trying to regulate the very low lights on the truck. I explained to the manager that we couldn’t declare anything in the app (at the question “is there anything wrong with the truck”), and it was like that for more than 3 years. Once again she rejected any responsibility over the website or the app, but was speaking about “her trucks” and reminding me she was the owner of the branch. I personally treat people with respect, whoever they are, but this lady made me feel as UHaul tought I was no one and my words were not even worth listening. She was making comments and eye contacts with her employees, including the rude one from the pick up that said they had no time for this, one of them making a hand sign meaning I was crazy. This person refused to listen to me or look at the proofs i had showing her it was impossible that I made 230km, and asked her again who checks the odometers. She said she did not believe me since the client before (who did something like 20-30 miles, the amount of money is way different) after I told her that the invoices were often mistaken and no follow up was done. Please tell me who does inspect the odometers and when was this particular truck inspected. I was given a shaky truck, was charged double of km I did, rudely spoken to and then yelled and laughed at by a very unprofessional looking and sounding women, who couldn’t even speak proper english with on the phone, but found a way to be rude at and made sure we all hear it. I asked her not to charge the credit card on file as I was not agreeing at all with all the overcharges and amount of km, she nargued me and say ah youre not lucky it passed, do your complaint and I ll reject it. How unwilling is this person to give good customer service actually help people with their requests, always answering she does not program the website and apps and that its her branch’s.

I was not guided through the process required ‘move out’ my locker and signed up to an autopay (without my knowledge or consent) and as a result I was charged additionally without my knowledge. This amounted to approximately 900 dollars. I feel cheated and angry- especially given the hostile and confrontational manner in which I was treated. Simply put this was the worst consumer experience of my life. I will crawl through broken glass to not deal with U-Haul again.

The 2nd person I dealt with, Emile Marciano, was efficient, respectful, and professional. But before him, I had a terrible experience with the manager, Julie Lescard, @ St. Jacques St. in Montreal, Quebec. This is not the first time I have had to deal with this woman. She is rude, inefficient, and cares nothing about the disabled. Her only concern is slapping on fees, with no interest in listening to a customer’s situation. I was charged a ridiculous late fee of $15.00 for being 5 days late….in ONE month ($30.00) even after I explained a mixup with my bank. If she is representing U-Haul, then they are nothing but greedy, dishonest and money grabbing. They show no respect for their customers.

The staff was variable, some super helpful and more a bit surly & not interested in being helpful. The day I closed out, the woman was barely tolerant of my needs ( I was the only one there) and seemed distracted and more interested in a smoke.

Well situated, it was a good place years ago..., when it was reasonably priced and had access 24/7 for the same reasonable price. New paint every 2nd year and new lights is not going to keep me there for more than $1,500 per year with limited access unless I pay even more. Over the years I paid more than $25,000 - enough to buy a brand new car, but I am still driving my '97 car... It was time to leave and start saving. It's supposed to be the last place to cut..., has become lately the first to cut.

The experience was wonderful from A to Y, as concluding the contract with U-Haul was poor and I don't intend to recommend nor do business again with them. The facility is wonderful, service great, very clean and all. I finished the contract on the 13th of December and I payed for the whole month the 9th of December. I understood that the payment is full and final for the whole month and they don't reimburse the difference. It's understandable to put such policy in place to avoid many transactions of reimbursement. Although, when a client calls or make a request, the simplest thing is to listen and make a decision based on the facts and potential business in the future. The manager told me he had absolutely no power to reimburse a portion of the monthly rent. Basically I paid 200$ for 4 days of storage... Any business client oriented would have made something to keep the relationship. I am taking my personnal time to make sure U-Haul listens to my comments and understand I won't be recommending them (quite the contrary) and will make sure to do business with competitors in the future just because of 200$... It's all about customer service and I felt left out for a simple request like this.

Terrible management, The girls in front when I am physically there - are very helpful and know their stuff, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to resolve ANY issue, on the phone - which never answered and transferred to main UHAUL line, where they have no idea how to help. I work extensive hours and it was a perpetual mess to ask for help or solve anything online / in the phone. PLUS : they were bothering everyone for late payments. I AM OK to pay extra fee if I am late, since I travel a lot for work and pay bills only during dedicated hours, but 10 phone calls to my members of family, and my work stuff for 350$/month - is is a true over exaggerating. The owner of this specific facility should get a grip on his management.

Overall, my experience as a customer of what I believed was a reputable business was terrible. I was falsely reassured over the phone twice by local employees (when requesting information about fees associated with 1 additional day of locker occupancy), and harassed to complete a payment afterwards, feeling cornered. I have felt hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hoodwinked, and led astray by the numerous UHaul employees I have spoken to. I contacted the GM, as well as the 1-800 phone number and emailed the district manager, none of which were of help.
