They had to delay the hitch by a few hours to accommodate a more time consuming job. No big deal, but I did have to adjust my schedule a little. Other than that everything was great!

Andreas O.Personnel did not assist in removing trailer nor did they check me in upon arrival despite there being no other customers present and multiple uhaul personnel. Rather, they asked if an emailed receipt was okay and said they would get to it in about 10 minutes. I called after about 30-40 minutes because I had still not received it and was informed they would be getting to it soon. I did receive the email receipt over 5 hours after I called.

It was a pleasure dealing with someone who actually cares about the service to her customers. Also JR was always ready to assist in any way that would make my visits as easy as possible. Once the UHaul boxes were transferred to the new facility, the warehouse manager was on point with having my box down when I needed to get into it. Great location and great staff!

When I talked to the company (on Sweeten Creek rd), they didn't offer to refund me for renting me an “older model that [they] are probably going to take out of rotation now.†And for having to unload a 15ft U-Haul now in the dark by myself in Asheville which is sketchy as hell. This company sucks. My experience with U-Haul's roadside assistance operator Cassauandra was a very calming and reassuring experience however, so kudos to the U-Haul team for that. I had trouble with the app though so I called her directly. The app wouldn't let me upload photos without freezing. I took a screenshot of everything. Multiple screenshots - bc I didn't want to be charged for any mechanical failures that occurred.

Alan B.Morgan in Asheville was great. The overall Uhaul experience was quite messy with me having to fix issues and spend a couple hours on the phone. There were multiple errors in how various Uhaul employees worked on my order. The Uhaul electronic system sounds complicated and not terribly efficient. Multiple Uhaul employees said they would do something and then didn't. Chris at the Waco Uhaul was great. Nikki Bas never returned my call. Overall, I'd caution others that the whole process is messy but there were pockets of good, the transport/delivery went ok, and it's a reasonable cost (vs a moving company). Also, only 1 broken item.
Lisa R.The tire pressures on both back tires were very low when we picked up the vehicle. Cold tire pressure on this particular van (for the back tires) is recommended at 75psi. They were 51 and 54. When asked if someone could help us before we took the van off the lot, they said there was nothing they could do. "Their air pressure machine had been vandalized". There was zero customer service to help resolve this issue. Also, just FYI....The after hours link to check the vehicle back in upon return did not work. I left a note on the dashboard.

Needless to say it was a nightmare and then when I called for help roadside assistance was going to be 90 minutes. I had a 9 hr drive ahead of me, so I got into trailer and pulled the door down ,it took every ounce of my strength. I was frustrated and exhausted! Then when I made it to my destination and opened door to unload it did the same thing so I had to return it with door up. I had no other option.

(Who the heck starts working at 3pm in the afternoon anyway)

Robert A.Had two issues. First, I was charged for too much mileage - so obviously staff did not record accurate mileage. Second - I left a key in the van I rented by mistake (my key); and I could not reach the location. The phone would ring and then pass on to the central customer service. I tried numerous times all day - they literally never answer the phone. So I had to drive down there to see if my key was there. When I walked in, two employees were sitting around, feet up, talking. When I said I was missing a key, the young guy said, oh - is it on a blue thing? Yes. Then he had to run, I guess to wherever the van was, and get it out of there. So, clearly, he had seen it. Why didn't anyone from the location contact me to see if I had lost a key??! Was that guy just going to leave it in the van? Seems like it. Then I told the manager (female) that I had been calling all day, she said to me, kind of rudely, dismissively, "I've been outside all day". Well, I was in there 3 separate times myself, and she was never outside. Clearly a lie. But no apology - nothing. Literally, the worst customer service ever. I will not be back. I noticed yesterday that Home Depot rents vans. I'll go to them.

They tried to tell me I wouldnt be charged for Miles as the makeup for the windshield wipers not working, but I didnt go over on miles so there was no charge and they tried to lie to us and act like they were doing something nice when they werent.
RYAN S.There was a major issue with the original delivery of my containers in Arden, NC. The containers Were not delivered on the day I was promised and had been confirmed by uhaul. Then I could not get in touch with anyone who would help with setting up a delivery for the next day. One representative kept telling me that the containers would still be delivered that evening but that didn't happen. I actually made no less than 6 phone calls when the containers were not delivered by 7pm. I was hung up on and at one point I was on hold for over 30 minutes! It was a serious problem because I had uhaul movers scheduled to load the containers at 9am the next day which was Friday. The movers were great to work with since they put everything on hold until I could confirm what time the containers would actually be delivered. Luckily I got in touch with the manager at Arden Friday morning. She was very apologetic and had the driver deliver the containers early enough for the movers to load by 11am. Then the Arden manager arrived for a special Saturday morning pick up which they normally don't do. The Saturday pick up was critical because the apartment manager said they couldn't sit in the parking lot over the weekend and I had to leave for Florida Saturday afternoon to start a new job Monday morning. The delivery to the new apartment in Florida was fine and went as scheduled thank goodness. I feel that I should receive some compensation for the stress, aggravation and hours of phone calls needed to accomplish this move. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

It's very hard to get hold of the people at this U-Haul and I would love to go back at a time when Ben is there and let them look at it and tell me what happened.

It was a terrible experience. We ultimately had to rent a truck and fill the container at the U-haul facility in Asheville, which cost me extra money and time. Our move was delayed by a full day when we were on a tight schedule. The experience on the Oregon side was lovely. No complaints.

We were never informed during the online reservation that the units are basically a wait list. We we told this by the GM on the phone as we were waiting. This in our opinion is poor business practice. On a positive note, your employee, Jeff, was outstanding! He helped in every way he possibly could to accommodate our needs. He went above and beyond. He is the type of employee that we don't see much of these days and should be commended for his hard work and positive demeanor.

The storage facility itself is not very well climate maintained, there are rat traps in them and one in my unit which was not very desirable but it was only option at the time. I would recommend this U-Haul location to anyone looking to rent equipment but not for self storage.

Sweeten Creek had a unit for more money. The man at Swannanoa River Road could not have cared less about the inconvenience this made for me. I chose Swannanoa River location because that is closest to my apartment. I had to drive another 45 minutes BACK FROM WHERE I WAS to get to Sweeten Creek because of traffic. My bad experience was at Swannanoa River location. However, I had to give Dion at Sweeten Creek all my information over again as if I was not in the UHaul system. Dion was helpful and understood how frustrated, tired and angry I was at being turned away after I had a reservation. BAD EXPERIENCE.

She shared with me she was leaving the company and complained about her co-workers. She asked me for my phone number but told me it wasn’t in the system but then found it. She asked me for a photo of my ID and texted me the link but it was already in the system. She took me to my unit but it was filled with stuff. She again complained about her coworkers. She found me a vacant unit thru an app on her phone and when she went to open it, a loud alarm went off. I’m sure that she knew that would happen so a heads up would have been appropriate as it was loud and I was startled and a little annoyed at the amount of mis-steps I was experiencing. She did not tell me the hours of access which are also not listed online so I had to call to find out. Upon leaving, I stopped into the storage areas restroom to wash my hands and the soap dispenser was missing the part where you push to get soap out. That means people have to fumble around to make it work, contaminating the soap dispensers inner workings with their dirty hands. Come on Uhaul, you can do better. Not sure if this is standard, but an employee had hosed off his car in the front of the building. The gal helping me whined to the guy that she wanted her car washed bec/ it had been 4 years which made me wonder what the inside of her car must be like. I also learned that I can’t get another month free of storage after I rent another truck in the coming weeks. She tried to explain it to me but she started talking about a nearby Uhaul location but referred to it as Sweeten Creek which I thought was the location I was at which made me question if I was at the location I initially wanted to store things at. I was at Sweeten Creek so I’m not sure what she was talking about but I’m disappointed to hear that if I rent one way trucks two different times, I only get one month free of storage and that you offer to first month free to people who don’t rent trucks. Most places do but if I knew that with what I know now, I would have searched other storage company options. I usually don’t leave reviews but since I received both and email and text message from Uhaul, I thought I should. Not trying to sound like a Karen but Uhaul asked…TWICE so here you go

We waited for the police to arrive (while being told we were trespassing as we waited by the two staff members). We appreciate the Asheville Police Officers service and seeing the silliness of the incident. With increased crime in this area such an inappropriate use of the Officers service. When dealing with staff at my pick up location, it was a horrible experience and if I hadn't needed to use their service, I would have walked out and I have rented from uhual SEVERAL times in the past. The truck had issues and had a gas issue. It cost me over $1,100 in gas to drive 3200 miles in a 20ft truck which is completely unheard of. I have made this trip several times and NEVER had the issues I had this time. Pick up staff didn't care about the truck and it's gas (and break) issues and hung up on me. The staff here, though they couldn't do anything to change what happened on the west coast, were very sincere and very kind. Their storage units are clean and climate controlled and VERY secure. I would definitely recommend this location for both storage and moving. Thank you for making the end of my trip stress free!
