I went to this location after running around Alabama for 6 hours for a reservation that was set a month ago. This should have not happened. Overall I will probably never rent from uhaul again.Mary W.

Employees were not helpful at all. We had to wait a long time in line, then when we finally got to the desk the guy started helping us then walked outside to talk to a friend who had just pulled up.ERIN B.
We were supposed to pick up in Columbiana Alabama. I got the text message the night before for the truck and the car hauler. We got to Columbiana they're closed I guess permanently. So they were redirected to another location. What the hell the guy when we got there wouldn't be there till two hours. And we could only get the truck there we have to go somewhere else for that vehicle hauler. So he did finally show up about 30 minutes laterAnd my husband got the truck and then had to drive all the way to Vestavia Hills to get the car hauler with the truck and bring it back to the other location to get them to hook up the car hauler and put the car on the hauler. They really didn't know what they were doing by hooking up a car hauler. My husband was scared the whole trip that he was going to have his car fall off the car hauler. And for all our inconvenience all you gave us was a $50 credit or refund and a few extra miles. This was the worst experience I've ever felt or ever received from U-Haul and I've always used you on to three different moves. We won't use you again. If this is the kind of company that you turned into then you need to just shut your doors. You had us go to Columbiana to a store that's closed, then to Montevallo to pick up the truck but we had to go all way back to Vestavia Hills to pick up the car hauler, then we had to drive all the way back to Montevallo to get his vehicle so that they can hook the car hauler up and get the vehicle on it. It was a disaster. And I'm sorry it was Vestavia Hills and hooked up the car hauler without the vehicle on it and they really didn't know what they were doing my husband said. Then he drove the U-Haul truck and the car hauler empty back to Montevallo to get his vehicle on it. He wasted $50 in gas before he ever got out of town because you had him running everywhere. Don't use Covid as an excuse. I'm tired of hearing that. Your service sucks how do you do reservations sucks, because you can't even send us to a location that's even open. I updated my reservation to a different date due to us hiring men to load the truck and we decided to leave later in the month and the additional days was not needed. I was told I had to keep the additional days and I could not change them, reservation allowed me to change it and I did this way ahead of time. I think this is wrong. If I needed to cancel that reservation and start over this should have been told to me. Online or someone should have call. I think I was taken advanage of and it cost me an additional 600 dollars. We kept the trunk even though we didn't need it. The trunk was great and our trip went well. Representative was nice, but I think it was wrong the way we were charged.Stacey S.

Truck was not available at scheduled pick up time due to lack of staging by location. This did not meet the requirement of the reservation, caused major inconvenience as well as additional cost as we had movers scheduled based on when we could have the truck. I would appreciate a manager calling me to discuss additional refunds as the lack on preparation from uhaul cost us over $100 in delays.Wesley D.

I originally called the 1800 ## for UHaul and was made a reservation at the Industrial Park Mini Storage in Fultondale. I informed the lady that that location had been hit by a tornado in January, and I did not think they had U Hauls anymore; my personal unit was damaged. She insisted on giving me the reservation. So , I called the Manager at the mini storage who informed me that they in fact did not have trucks at this time. So, I called UHaul back and was told that I had to go to East Lake as this was the closest location with trucks. She said it was only 5.3 miles from Fultondale; that is still being charged to me. I took the reservation, confirmed with my out of town help. So, that morning I show up as scheduled, walked in the door, and was happy there was only one other customer in the store. I was then told that my they did NOT have a truck. Then the message came through on Messenger on my phone! Really? The only truck in town was in Vestavia which is literally back the EXACT way I had come, past my house. The lady at the counter was very short with me and said that she did not have a teruck and if I wanted one, I had to turn back around. So, I informed my help, who had driven from Auburn, and were on a tight schedule. I was attempting to call the Vestavia location and my battery died. So, back into the store I go, and the lady would NOT call for me. She said she looked it up. I personally feel as though she should have picked up the telephone and called if not for my reassurance, for at least the fact that I was a customer and had asked her to. But, on a time crunch, I left. By the time I drove all the way back to Vestavia, got the truck, then drove to my destination, (Mt. Olive) I was almost an hour late. Not only were these helpers being paid overtime, I had a land lord waiting. Not a good first impression. Now, let me give credit where it is due. The young man at the Vestavia store did upgrade the truck from a 10' to a 15' foot in hopes that we would not have to make and extra trip. He was pleasant, efficient, and truly concerned at the problems I had that morning. The truck was in good working order, and clean, except for the HONEY BUN ON THE DASH! Not sure if that was for me or not!! LOL But, in closing, the stuff got moved. The only people who seemed to care were the guys in Vestavia. They were extremely busy, yet remained calm and peofessional.TERI O.
The reservationists confirmed my one way rental for a 26ft truck and upon pick up, it appeared to be an in town rental and it caused me an hour delay. Thankfully the young man at that location came in early that morning and was able to reserve me a 20 ft truck which was acceptable but not what we needed.Barbara J.
