They called us over and over in the middle of our move to ask if we were going to be back by 130 to return the truck when it was on a quarter to and I had just spoken to someone less than 2 hours previously who asked us the same question. Then I had requested a 17 foot truck and they only gave my husband a 15" truck. He didn't know what I had requested so he took it unknowingly.

I was unable to rent the larger size truck that I needed because too many people are leaving the San Jose area. They won't rent a large size one way because it's harder for the uhaul location to get it back. So now it's going to cost me twice as much to try and get another truck. Plus more of my time is wasted now, when I should have been able to move in one trip with the appropriate size truck.

I'm dissatisfied with the service I received. I was told I would be able to rent my box truck and tow dolly from the same location. That was what I agreed to. That was the contract I was to sign. However I wanted to pick up the box truck on Thursday, and the tow dolly and my personal vehicle that I left at the Mountain View office on Friday. When i arrived on Friday, there was no tow dolly for me, nor did I receive any phone call about the change of plans. I had tried to call the Mountain View office at least three times, nobody answered the phone. I was diverted to the main office who had different information than the Mountain View office did.I was told I would receive a call back at least three times and never received a callback. My only option was to pick up a tow dolly in San Jose 40 minutes away from Mountain View during rush hour traffic. By the time all of this was sort of out by U-Haul my plans had already been delayed by at least 2 to 3 hours. When I finally picked up my tow dolly, and returned with it to Mountain View, bay area traffic delayed me another two hours on my way south. The general manager, Alfons, at Mountain View apologized and promised he would refund my cost for the tow dolly. When I try to call him from Durango, again there was no answer and I was told I would receive a call back, which I still have not received. The disconnect and the lack of communication between the main office and the individual u-haul sites is apalling. There is misinformation and there is very little means for me to contact you directly at the site to speak with the person at that site. When I discussed this issue with the local site employees, I found they agreed and were challenged by this lack of communication. I was told that by filling out this customer review and customer objection the Alfons at Mountain View would refund my cost for the tow dolly. I would appreciate an email and a phone call confirming this is happening. When I called U-Haul and was put on hold, which was every single time I called, the recording mentioned you are trying to do your best to make amends for situations like this. I truly hope you do take this matter to heart because I would have chosen another company if I knew what I was getting myself into. I expect and look forward to hearing that you have resolved this refund for me. Thank you for taking the time to consider this comment.
