I reserved a U-Haul at this location, but on the day before my pick-up, upon contacting this location, I was told to go to the U-Haul location on Jurupa Ave in Riverside. On the day of my pick-up, the U-Haul I reserved wasn't at the Jurupa U-Haul, but the this one! When I finally did get there, the line was long and there was only one worker helping out the customers. I reserved a 15' U-Haul, but ended up with a 10' one.

I am not at all happy with the rental experience I had. A week ago I called U-Haul and reserved a closed trailer for 2 days. This week when I showed up at the corona U-Haul to pick up my trailer they first said that I did not confirm my pick up time so there was no trailer there for me. Then after a 20-minute wait while the representative walked around the lot I was told that my reservation was changed because a customer did not return their trailer on time and when the reservation was changed the representative did not put in a pick up time. They found me an open trailer all the way up in Riverside. So I had to drive 18 miles in traffic to Riverside then stand in line again for another 15 minutes, and then drive in traffic all the way back down to Corona just to move 5 pieces of furniture. I then had to drive all the way back up to Riverside in traffic to return the trailer. I asked the assistant manager at the corona U-Haul how I can avoid this problem in the future. She advised me that I need to make my reservations at least two weeks in advance and I needed to call back again a day before the reservation to reconfirm that my trailer is still available. Full disclosure this is the first and only time so far that I have had a problem with the corona U-Haul, but it was definitely not a great experience. U-Haul did compensate me for the inconvenience and I appreciate that gesture. Now I know I have to call twice to make sure they have my equipment .

We drove the truck 11 miles home to load our own dolly but the door was stuck. It took about 45 minutes to get the location to answer the phone- we were told to go to the website or call roadside assistance. My husband had already tried what they suggested. My husband finally used a crowbar to get it open. He is 81 years old. Location personnel as well as mgt were not very concerned. I am still waiting to hear back.

Improve staffing since there’s not enough people to accommodate the customer. Also, please improve your “guide gauge” in filling up the gas since it’s very inaccurate and made me fill the car up more than what is needed. It is very misleading and disappointing. Also, some people are not knowledgeable of their job.

Slow service and bad customer service

This was the worst experience with Uhaul I've ever had. My family and I were stranded 400 miles from home and needed a tow dolly to get our car back home. Locating a tow dolly was almost impossible. Later I found out it's because toward the end of the many locations do not allow one-way rentals. That's why there was nothing within 50 miles of me or more. After finding a tow dolly 400 miles away that someone could bring to us, the Uhaul location (Fontana, Ca on Foothill Ave) manager said he did not have time to attach the tow wiring because it was an hour before closing and to come back the next day. When my brother-in-law went back the next morning at 7 a.m. when they opened, the manager flat out told him he was not going to attach the wiring harness because he didn't have time/did not want to do the extra work. When my brother-in-law became visibly upset the manager finally called another location which was willing to do the work. Then he let my brother-in-law know that he had not held my reservation even though he told him to come back the next morning. Somehow between closing and opening the next morning the had rented out he tow dolly to someone else. My brother-in-law then had to drive to two different locations in two different cities in order the have the wiring harness installed and pick up the tow dolly. When I complained to customer service about the run around she said my only option was to rent a truck (which again was not available anywhere near me unless I drove it 400 miles back). She said they assume if you have a hitch you also have the wiring installed, that's why they don't ask. When she started to raise her voice at me I hung up because obviously I was going to get no where. I would rather buy my own tow dolly than have to use Uhaul again.

Customer parking was inadequate, when informed about this issue both employees and management were clueless on how to resolve this issue. Secondly I informed the employee checking the vehicle over after I returned it that i had knocked the overhead lenses cap off and damaged it. UHaul charged me $231.00 for a piece of plastic you can obtain at any auto parts store. If i where not honest the employees would have never known. I don’t plan to use UHaul ever again.

Every employee I dealt with both when I came in to the location to pick up the vehicle, and when I came back to return it was extremely rude and uncommunicative. They provided no assistance and my presence seemed to be a huge issue for them. Not a single smile, not a single greeting, or thank you.
