Great service in the morning. I checked in with my phone but also got some help from the tech. He was super helpful and answered my questions. This was my first time renting a U-Haul. My only complaint is the actual cost compared to the quote. It was $50 more than I was quoted. I was a little shocked by the total amount plus, refilling the tank. I was not expecting it to be so much. :(

I had a reservation to pick up a cargo van at 10:00 am. I arrived 15 minutes early and waited in line for an hour. They had two people behind the counter. One would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. Suggestion: have one line for people with reservations and another for those who don’t. I heard one of the staff say it’s like this every Saturday. If that’s the case, staff up on that day! Moving day is stressful enough... having to endure an inefficient rental process doesn’t help. I’d never rent from this location, or maybe even UHaul again.

Break down the reservation and the receipt to the customer. Next time don't charge a customer for a dolley and not give the customer a dolley. Help the customer pick a drop off location instead of continuously saying "call and choose a place before you drop off." Seriously who can do that driving. Unsafe.

I requested an appliance dolly with the truck. The guy that brought the truck looked in the back and said there was one already in the back. I got back to my house and opened up the back and there was no appliance dolly, only a utility dolly that comes in every truck. I had to drive back to the store, go in and tell them that I didn't get an appliance dolly. The girl at the counter told me to go ahead and get one that was sitting outside. She also said that she would take the cost of the appliance dolly off of my invoice for my trouble. Later I got a call from her because she thought I had left a coffee cup on the counter and she reiterated that she would remove the dolly charge. The next day I got my invoice by email and had been charged for the appliance dolly. Also, as a side note, we noticed the utility dolly was not zip tied and we were afraid that they would try to charge us for that even though we didn't use it. Luckily we didn't get charged for that but it obviously had not been checked from the previous use.

I bought some styrofoam picture frame corners for a moving project and they did not fit what I was packing... so I asked to return them and was told NO, even though I was coming in to spend nearly $300. on a truck rental. This is simply ridiculous that your store will NOT accept a return of something in perfectly good resellable condition- especially when you are spending another $300!! I still want to get a refund for this, call me at 913.915.0233 and we can discuss. Everyone else accepts returns- why not Uhaul?

Be consistent about returning after hours. From one week to the next it was different. Plus my rental was not on my app and it took some searching of emails to launch the return process. Very frustrating after you’ve finished your move.

Having rented from this location numerous times, there is always a very long wait at the counter, no improvement over the years; very slow and antiquated processes to pick up. Given today's technology designed to improve process. Although I "checked in" online; that does not reduce the time it takes ("by half" as you site claims). UHaul really needs to leverage technology to improve the pick up process. I am over 20 years in corporate management and clearly recognize a need by UHaul for some significant process improvement.

My reservation got changed 3 different times 15ft truck at gardner, to 20 ft truck at gardner, then 20 ft truck in overland park and not on the day I originally booked. Not very happy. They credited my credit card 50.00 added miles. I paid 194.00, seems like I got overcharged.

Make sure customers are aware that some trucks do not have a ramp. Be sure trucks are already clean when customer is picking up. Since this is a requirement upon return, a customer picking up should not have to wait for a trailer to be cleaned out.

The brick and mortar was fine, the online check in is an absolute joke. And I was charged $42 for a SafeMove?? that I didn't even ask for. Telephone rep I spoke with on Thursday - I will admit that I was out of line and shouldn't have gotten heated so fast but I felt I was being accused of something and her lack of customer service soft skills (empathy/active listening/non-argumentative) - not to mention the fact that she got so hot she had to let me go and said someone from the store will call (which didn't happen). I have a feeling she added the SafeMove just to tick me off.

Insane lines because only one person at checkout, even on a Saturday! Never answer phones (obviously due to above). Staff seem to work hard - give them what they need to do their jobs ffs! Like credit card terminals that work.

The gal that checked us out was fabulous! Truck pulled to the right. Made it work to drive. After 150 + miles, driver was tired! We had a question after we left. We felt we needed more miles. Called the location. Got someone other than who had checked us out. She stated I should speak with "scheduling". She provided a telephone number in case we got disconnected. After 14 minutes and 37 seconds on hold, someone answered. Tammy from Customer Service answered. She listened to my issue. I referenced the number I had been given. It wasn't scheduling. But thankfully she got me to Becky with the 800 group. She was awesome!!! She helped immensely! Thought we were good. Until I forgot to call back to confirm the drop off location. Got a call from someone who continued to challenge me that the drop off location we wanted was no longer available. I felt like she didn't believe what I was telling her. Finally, she was able to determine I was correct. What an ordeal!!
