I only chose "average" because of limited experience with U-Haul, especially considering this location is also a self-storage business. The staff was perfectly pleasant, the store was neat and organized. The location wasn't super convenient, but that's more to do with how 8 Mile has grown up around what is clearly a very old building. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
DAVID LThe uhaul smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. As someone who is very sensitive to smells, it made the long drive in the truck a very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience. The customer service was great, and the truck ran well. But the internal cleanliness made for a subpar experience. Additionally, while returning the truck there were police cars and officers responding to some event at the office, which did bring into question the safety of the location.
