the local branch had decided to suspend my 24 hour reservation and give the trailer to another reservation booked one hour before my pickup time! Their reasoning was that I had not called them to let them know I was going to be a couple of hours late for pickup. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO CANCEL YOUR CUSTOMER'S CONFIRMED RESERVATION WITHOUT FIRST NOTIFYING THEM!!! You have all my contact information on file and phone/text/email work two-way. Good customer service is for you to contact me to verify if I am on my way to your location for pickup before cancelling the reservation. The local manager said he did not have time to call every customer who is running late. First of all, this day and age I would expect a large corporation like UHaul to invest in the right level of automation so a person does not have to follow up with customers who might be running late for their pickup. It looks like you have created too much overhead and chaos by creating smaller rental intervals (from daily to hourly) without first investing in the necessary automation. The customer service manager on duty (I believe Kelly) was the only person who genuinely was trying her best to help, and the best she could do was able to find another trailer an hour away. The local branch was more interested in slapping me with a "two hour late" penalty the validity of which was discussed above. In the end, check this customer's history over the however many years your system goes back and say good bye to that business and any further referrals I might have generated for UHaul. I need to be able to count on "confirmations" and a company's commitment more than UHaul's practice of burying all that in the fine print and looking for the first opportunity to throw it out the window.

Reserved a trailer for 7AM pick-up. No one showed up to open the facility until after 7:15. Reserved and checked in online the night before pick-up. Computer froze multiple times and information and credit card needed to be entered manually. The employee was very apologetic.

If I could give zero stars I would. I was promised a truck at 9am after reserving it 2 weeks in advance and confirming the reservation the night before then I drive 40 minutes to get the truck, even though there's probably 15 closer locations that claim they don't have trucks just to get there and be told they don't have any trucks. Then I was told to come back at 3pm I go back to again no truck, then they will have one at 6pm at a different location just to go there again for nothing. Then finally I get a truck at 630 at a different location. I paid people to help me move that ended up standing around all day waiting on u haul to deliver on there promises that never happened until 630 at night, totally wasted day and money. Only to move pretty much alone and took 6 days instead of 3 days like I planned had I got my truck on time. They cost me a fortune in paying people to stand around and penalties for not being out on time then they offer to refund me $50. $50!!!! For all that aggravation, no thanks never again. Be smart and rent a truck from someone who will deliver on there promises.

The dolly was in the way so was the bag of furniture blankets. There was a metal plate that was loose inside the cargo area. This experience was not great nor was it poor. It was below average.

I was sent to 3 different U-haul locations before I could receive a truck despite the fact that I had a reservation. Impose higher penalties to renters that disregard others reservations.

Staff was very helpful, polite and professional. We rented a trailer on the busy Labor day weekend. We needed to change the pick up time and they were very understanding. The only trouble we had was with the after hours return website. It couldn't assess our location. We ended up calling the main Uhaul phone number and they were able to put a note on file.

Interface between phone and automatic, after hours pick-up was difficult and in the end did not work. But the office was still open when I arrived, so this did not delay me in the present case. Oil change light was on already when I drove the van off the lot.
