Maybe try to have the size truck you booked for pickup? Delayed move because of truck not being available as reserved. Caused a 30 mile trip to be made for nothing and moving helpers has to be paid for that day when no move could be made. Also, if you are going to charge a $25 cleaning fee, you would think the inside of truck would be clean when you rent it??? Seems logical, but was not so,

The local team working for Ms. Barnes, and including Ms. Barnes, were very efficient. The supplies at the store were plentiful and serves many needs. They were open Sunday as well which was a major plus.

the unit was not properly inspected before I left with the tow dolly and as a result it came loose from my vehicle wile on the interstate. Thank God no one was behind me.

I was broke down on the side of the road on a motorcycle. I called to rent a truck and a trailer to transport my bike back to Texas. After confirming the rental agreement I get a call from the location telling me that they didn’t have the requested equipment. I had to get a larger truck. Was told I could get the larger truck for the price of the smaller truck. The agent didn’t know how to apply the discounted rate. It took about an hour to get the truck and trailer so that I could be on my way. The agent who hepl d me said she would pass on my inconveniences to her manager. If the agents who make the reservations when you call don’t know what’s at the location they shouldn’t be allowed to make and confirm something that’s not available.

Wrong equipment.. Overcharged.. Poor customer service.. No return call in timely manner. Took 5 days to try to resolve.. Due to being charged wrong amount, bank account was overdrawn and no compensation by company made.

Uhaul was not cleaned at pickup. Shattered glass was in the back of the truck and cut my feet when loading initially. I opted out of the insurance, but was charged for it. I drove the truck 22 miles total, put 4 gallons of gas in the vehicle immediately before returning and was still charged a gas surcharge. Very disappointing overall.

The trailer was not fully compatible with my truck, which is why the trailer didn't pull smoothly. I did not mind because I needed the extra space, but I was later informed that I should not have been issued the trailer.

The booking process was HORRIBLE. I called the location who took my reservation and then referred me to an 800 number. I called the number I was given, and I was told my reservation was complete. As soon as I got off the phone with the 800 number, I received a text message that my appointment was set for another time. Then, I received a voicemail from the 800 number that my reservation was set to be canceled. I called the 800 number back to confirm and was hung up on. I called the 800 number back again and was told that they would not have left such a voicemail and that I had never called to confirm. I, completely frustrated, went into the store to pickup my appliance dolly and the reservation clerk could not have been less interested. The other store employee was busy yelling with the other customer in the store to be bothered with my presence. However, I must say that the employee who accepted my return was polite and courteous.

The van had not been swept spotless when I picked up and I was told to just bring it back as was when I picked up. It looked no worse when I returned it but I was charged a $25.00 cleaning fee. Seems a little unfair when it was returned as picked up. The van also smelled bad.

I called the local U-Haul to rent a truck to haul a dining set. I told the customer service rep that I needed a truck large enough to haul a china cabinet, upright. She assured me that a truck would be available the next day, when I needed it. Upon arrival, the person in the store was extremely dry, and obviously not happy that a customer had appeared. At first she said I had no reservation, then she said it was for a small van. She said that she hadn't had a small truck in weeks. Having an impending appointment to pick up the furniture, I agreed to rent a much larger truck. Instead of paying a base rate of $19.95, I now had to pay $34.95. No offer of adjustment was made. The truck sputtered, and used quite a lot of fuel. I calculated my trip with Google Maps, and the distance was measured at 51.2 miles. The trucks odometer registered 69 miles. Why the discrepancy? Perhaps something is done purposely to make their odometers read more miles. It is quite easily done, with smaller wheels, or a change of speedometer gearing. At $.69 per mile, the extra miles add up quickly. Upon arrival at the place where i was to load the furniture on the truck, I noticed that there were no seals on the pathetic little dolly, nor on the blanket container in the back of the truck. I had brought my own blankets, and did not use the dolly. When I returned the truck, the worker told me I could just leave it if I did not need a receipt. That sounded like an open invitation for them to charge me for, cleaning, fuel, or for the use of the blankets and dolly, so I told the worker that I needed one. Only then did she inspect the truck. I had refueled and cleaned the truck, so the only thing she could find wrong was the broken seals on the blankets and dolly, and she proceeded to question me about them. I feel that this was just a trap that they set for everyone, and had I departed without a receipt, they would surely have charged my card for them. It has been some years since I last rented from U-Haul, and I had forgotten about how terrible they were. Should I need to rent an enclosed truck again in the near future, I pray I don't forget again, and I will try Budget, or ANYONE ELSE BUT U-HAUL!!
