The truck was clean but smelled musty- maybe from previous loads. Just kept the windows down. Otherwise everything was wonderful, ready at a minutes notice and person at the desk was very helpful and polite. In both coming and going he handled the patrons efficiently and diplomatically.

When I picked up the truck, the man brought it out to the Centre of the parking lot and yelled to me as he walked away, “there’s your truck”. Nobody went over the mechanics of opening and closing the door at the back or how the ramp pulls out etc.. I had to go back into the office to ask how to adjust the mirrors. A gentleman came out and manually adjusted them for me. The truck, however, ran beautifully al the way from Ancaster to Kanata. I would definately recommend U-Haul to friends and I will use them again.

Had requested a closer pick up location. My confirmation said that someone would contact me by 6pm the day prior to the rental. I was not contacted so had to sign in to check my booking. When checking I saw that the pick up location was not the one request so had to then arrange transportation to the location. Other than that the rental process was very easy.

It was frustrating to order a truck for a 12 hour rental, speak to 3 customer service reps and have not a single one tell me they were only open until 7pm so we couldn’t return it at 9pm. We had to adjust our whole day to get the truck back early.

They overcharged on the return for an extra day when vehicle was returned on time ($62), finally settled after 2 months of attempting to contact the manager. There was a gas overcharge for 1/8 tank...only $30 but after several attempts to discuss with branch staff and after several emails to the branch and to customer service, this has never been settled. They refuse to respond to emails or telephone calls.

unit was muddy inside and out

I've used a few different U-Hauls in the past and have found that the Wellington location by far has the best service. Greg

I didn't get the truck I had reserved, costing me additional gas and a ferry expense due to the size. Not sure where the problem lies but again a much bigger unit than I wanted.

I had to call in because I could not return truck on time. Would have been nice to be transferred to a person once situation was explained instead of going back on hold for 5 mins. Or have an option of picking the person you need to talk to too, ei, booking, returns, problems.

This was by far the worst Uhaul experience I have ever had. I appreciate that the price was dropped to make up for it, but I am still very unhappy.

Good solid trailer and easy to deal with. Have used them in the past and will continue to use them. Always my first choice to move stuff.

I had to go to this location because Uhaul sent me an email the previous afternoon that the location I reserved did not have the trailer and sent me to this location 40 minutes away. The fellows at this location were very friendly and helpful. They even hooked the trailer up for me. Usually I have to do this at other locations. The enclosed trailer did smell like the previous user hauled dead fish with it.

U-Haul called by phone two days prior to my pickup and told me that the city of Hamilton had no more trucks left, but that I could pick up a truck at 1 Head Street in Dundas. I agreed and received an email and text message that confirmed pickup in Dundas. When I went to this location for my pickup, they informed me that they had no record of me and had no trucks. I called the store's number, which connected me to a central U-Haul number and they seemed clueless and told me that my truck is at the original location. I finally go to this location (1-hour late, thanks to my time wasted in Dundas) and got my truck. This nonsense costed me over an hour and as a result I was late for my elevator reservation at my apartment building, which caused a bunch more headaches. I understand that first weekend of September is busy, but that is not a valid excuse to send your customers on a wild goose chase. I can only hope that U-Haul will refund me a portion of the money I paid for having wasted my time.

Need to have more than one person working Took over 40 mins, to check in. Employee was polite and did the best he could for being there alone.

The location I chose didn’t have the van. So the website selected a more distant one and I had to pay for the extra mileage? Not fair. Also, the tank was not full because I drove just 55km and spent cad30 to fill it up??!! No way. I felt robbed. U haul never more.

Customer service was great! Friendly and helpful.

All was good fast and efficient But did discover a loose mirror on the road which had to be taped into position.

Amazing from the moment I booked the truck via your call centre to the moment I returned the truck and did the self check in on line. I told my husband that I would and will rent from U-Haul again and again and I will also recommend you to whoever I can. Great job to all and might I say, your company has certainly come a long way. Thank you again.

Good morning, I would like to start by saying that complaining is not generally my style how ever I feel like this is something that is a big enough issue to address. We went to pick up a pick up truck and car trailer and the car trailer was very beat up, fender was bent so far in towards the wheel (there was a hammer sitting on the trailer next to ours) I thought a good bump with the trailer loaded could blow the tire, tires were different sizes on that side and there was a nail in one tire on the right and a screw in the tire on the left. We were then told that the trailer was unsafe....clearly, and we might not be able to get another one today (we were driving to North Bay to tow home a 1969 Chevy Nova). We were told there was a car trailer at the Barton location we could pick up. We opened the door to leave in the pick-up truck and it was filthy, garbage in the door, the seats were covered in dog hair and dirt/food. We were late at this point and I could see my husbands frustration so I didn't say anything about getting another truck, trust me I wanted to. I made him stop so I could get lysol wipes and spray as I was that uncomfortable with it. When we returned the truck the next day I was picking up multiple nails and screws from the ground where we pulled up and where we watched many other customers pull up to as well, when I handed them to the customer service guy he threw them back on the ground and said that another customer had unloaded a trailer there and they would have to walk around with the magnet later. Why throw them back down....maybe this is why your trailer had nails and screws in it. I would use U-Haul again but never the Upper Wellington location. Barton street staff were wonderful and the vehicles all looked very well maintained. I hate to leave bad reviews as I completely understand that shit happens but this was a bit much. Thank you in advance for your time and have a wonderful day. Sincerely, Danika

The check-in line was pretty long. An extra employee would have helped. Other than that, we were very pleased. Thanks!

You could improve by being half-way competent and actually providing bare-minimum customer service. My ordeal with Uhaul this past weekend was the worst experience I've ever had with a rental agency, and though solutions were promised, no one could seem to make good on those promises. At every turn there was another screw-up from Uhaul. It was nothing short of incredible how terrible they were at doing their jobs. Predictably, all went silent after my credit card was charged. I will never rent with Uhaul again, even if that means paying more to rent elsewhere. I will also make sure my friends and family are made aware of this headache so they can steer clear of Uhaul in the future. If I could add the "shit" emoji, it would go here.
