They advertised they had 10 foot trucks, whereas closer locations said they could not guarantee that. But when I got there, they gave me a 15 foot, which cost me in gas and was a real problem with my move. I will just ship things next time.Peter C.

U-haul online reservation system leaves much to be improved for ease of customer use. It took a number of attempts for me to get a reservation made and then on the day of pick up, the pickup location was changed. The notice of the change was by text, which I was unaware of because of an airline flight. From the airport, I attempted to pick up the van, but I had to drive an additional 15 miles through heavy traffic to pick up the van at the reassigned pick up location. I had also ordered online, some moving pads, but the reassigned pickup location had no record of the purchase I had made. They were unable to contact the purchase with the 1st U-haul location, so I had to wait a couple days to actually get the pre-purchased pads. All in all U-haul has a very poorly coordinated system of communication between dealer locations. The van itself was very reliable, comfortable and easy to drive, so no complaints about the van.Bruce D.

The vehicle I put in the website to tow on my trip was checked and approved online. When I get to the U-Haul store, they took $1,000 from my bank account and then told me no I cannot pull this vehicle. So after spending another $400 on another trailer and pulling it with the vehicle I didn't want to drive, I have yet to be refunded my money. This has been 6 days ago!JAMES M.
The guy who hooked a 6/12 trailer to my truck was using the thing they moved Trailers around manually to place on my hitch. The man was banging and shaking my truck forcing me to go out and assist him. The man then gave me a faulty light harness. He told me to turn on only my flashers to check my light connection. Don't steal money from customers by miss stating gas gauge reading. Contract said 3/4 tank of gas. I read the gauge and it had 1/2 tank. I did an adjustment test as instructed. I returned the truck with 1/2 tank of gas and was charged $30.40 for gas. After 55 minutes on hold, I received a refund for $30.40, but not for the taxes on the amount. I was told if I did not take $30.40 without taxes, I would get nothing.ISIDORE S.

I was not notified that I would need to arrive within 30 minutes of my scheduled pickup time to get the truck. When I arrived, it was an hour past my scheduled time. I showed the woman working there an email that stated I could pick my truck up any time, 24/7. She stated that I misunderstood the email and there was no longer a truck. She rolled her eyes at me when I asked if there was anything else she could do. She said no. I asked if there was another type of truck or trailer I could rent and she said â€œprobably notâ€, then ignored me and started helping the next customer. Luckily the other woman working overheard my issue, and was able to set me up with another van. If I hadn't been in tears and making a scene enough that the other employee noticed me, I would not have left with a truck. It was incredibly demoralizing and awkward.VICTORIA S.
