They closed early for lunch and Rental Agent was extremely rude.

I was charged for an extra day even though I returned the vehicle on time. I was also charged a cleaning fee even though I returned the truck in the same condition that I rented it. It was raining the day I was unloading and returned the truck, so there might have been a little bit of moisture in the storage box portion, but the truck was very clean and swept out.

SANDRA MI am posting this here because when I attempt to post this in the "Concerns" it will not allow me to submit unless I upload a file! I don't have a file to upload! So here it is - Howdy! This van is the most sketchy vehicle I have ever driven on public roads! The drive between Grants Pass, OR and Spokane, WA was raining or rain-wet roads the entire way. This van is absolutely terrifying to drive in the rain! The biggest problem is there appears to be no brake controller installed or activated! My trailer brakes never applied. The next biggest problem is a close second place, with the van under load a moderate application of the brakes caused both front tires to slide and then the anti-lock function took over. The result of this is the rear axle was performing the vast majority of the braking. I think every time I parked and got out I was smelling the rear brakes cooking. The windshield wipers decomposed and left rubber streaks on the glass! So to review, I phone U-Haul and explain I have my own vehicle hauler with electric brakes and need a tow vehicle large enough for the job. After a few questions we conclude this van with a 10,000 lb tow rating will be sufficient. I have a 1,600 lb trailer, a 7,000 lb truck with 800 lbs of cargo for a total of 9,400 lbs towed weight - 600 lbs below the maximum tow rating. Inside the van we load the remaining cargo from the truck, about 1,500 lbs which we placed at the front of the box. It was after we are fully loaded and on our way that I figure out the trailer brakes are not working - they worked fine a couple hours before hitching up to the U-Haul van and they are working now - so the reason they did not work with the U-Haul van must be in the van. With the van loaded the front axle brakes lock up so easy they are practically unusable leaving the van rear axle to do all the braking for both the loaded van and loaded trailer! And I can't see because the wipers melted into the windshield during a rain storm in 40F temperatures! I am 58 years old, hold a CDL with several endorsements, and have limped home a few damaged trucks in my time. But driving this U-Haul van is by far the most sketchy drive I have ever done!
