You rent for 19.95 a day and threaten to charge more after 5 hours. Totally bad business.

Both employees were outside with a client for at least 30 minutes when I came to pickup my truck, reserved with the app so I could get in and out quickly. The guy was hooking up a trailer, but the woman employee was just chit chatting while a line of customers waited inside not knowing if anybody even worked there. I went outside to see what was up and she didn’t even acknowledge me. Everyone inside was really upset. No regard for customer’s time. No communication. Really a bad experience. I loaded up the truck, found the guy in the console and told the guy I was leaving. He quickly checked me out, but I have no idea how long I would’ve been there if I didn’t do that.

I felt like I was a nuisance. They had better things to do. I dragged myself and my oxygen tank to the counter in the back and the guy tells me to take it around to the back. like I work for him. I never will use them or possibly U Haul.

Better way to get keys when using app. There were multiple people using the app, waiting to get there key because the front desk was helping other people.

I made a reservation online for a truck at 8:30 a.m., arrived at 8:30 sharp, waited in line for 45 minutes (just two people ahead of me) and then was told my reservation didn't exist. I was eventually able to re-book, but the whole ordeal wasted almost two hours. Then my card was charged twice for service - the re-booked trip and the original reservation (the one that didn't exist). I'm all up for second chances, but having one person working on college moving weekend did not seem logical.

The lady that helped me rent a truck was friendly, but it seems like she wasn’t very well trained and I spent about 45 minutes waiting to rent a truck.

The location we picked up with came with several issues. I ordered a hitch to be installed two weeks prior to needing it and I get a call the day we are to get it installed stating that they didn’t have a part for it. Called them back to see what’s going on and the guy said they did actually have the part but the girl who normally installs them called out. We were leaving the state two days from that day and we needed the hitch. We were picking up a 4x8 trailer the next day. He said he would install it saying he thinks he can do it. We get there to the uhaul place and he says they don’t have the actual hitch part but we can buy it down the road. Okay fine, he could still install everything else though. We leave the place so he can do the installing and get a call 15 minutes later saying they didn’t have another part and they won’t be able to do it. This is frustrating. He fixes the issue by giving us a huge uhaul and car transporter with enough miles to make it to Alabama. We had no choice but to agree with this. Saying it would be the same price etc etc. except it’s not. It’s 120 more than we would pay for the hitch by itself that we get to keep forever and a uhaul is a gas guzzler. So in the end the cost is a lot more, the uhaul is uncomfortable to drive across country especially with a car transporter on the back and we don’t have a hitch to be able to use for future trips. I don’t understand why they didn’t have all of the parts when we ordered the thing two weeks in advance and why we are finding out any issues on the day of and why we were lied to about it in the first place. The location did not have their stuff together and honestly I don’t think we will ever use uhaul again. This was a terrible experience. The only reason I’m not giving it a worse rating is because there was an effort to fix the situation, but we did not feel satisfied with the fix. We feel we got jipped.

long wait times to pick up car I had done online checkin for, seemed understaffed

Only adding additional help during weekends and end of the month as 1-2 employees at a full service center is a bit low.

One person working, felt bad for him he seemed overwhelmed. Our reservation that we made 3 weeks in advance was double booked to the same vehicle somehow, took us over an hour to leave the store with a line of people waiting just as long. The guy working was very kind, but seemed like he was struggling because of the constraints of a terrible UPS rental system. The two other people on the premises didn’t know how to help anyone whether it was their job or not, and didn’t seem to care either way.

I waited in line for 45 mins just to drop off a trailer. The service I needed took like 1 minute to complete. I suggest putting more people on staff to help with these long wait times and absent employees.

Customer service. Employees seemed to be miserable, seemed annoyed when questions were asked, and didn’t even really answer questions well.

There was only 1 worker at the desk and the wait was over 45 minutes. There are no chairs to sit on while waiting. For example, at County Line Rd location you could put some chairs and a TV monitor in the show case spaces for storage to be used as a waiting area. The Alameda location is grossly understaffed. Why did I need to drive past 4 U haul locations that are closer to my house to go to one that is understaffed. Your goal is a great customer experience. You have a great product. My drop off was quick. My pick up was terrible due to the wait. Either get more staff or close some of these understaffed locations and move the staff to serve customers at other locations. My trailer hitch install - no chairs to sit on while I waited. Great product.
