1. Wash & clean vehicles inside and/or out when needed. The vehicle I got this time was clean. However, the last time I rented from this location, the outside was filthy. When I asked the rental agent to give me a clean/cleaner one, she stated that none of the vehicles are washed... I wasn't successful in getting a different vehicle. 2. Make sure, at minimum, windshields & windows are clean for the next customer. The windows were okay this time but the last time I rented from this location the windshiel was so filthy & full of bugs, I couldn't see to drive off the lot. This is the same vehicle noted above as very dirty, but the windshield deserves special mention since it becomes a safety issue when you're unable to see through it. Since I wasn't able to get switched to another vehicle, I asked the rental agent to have someone at least wash the windshield. She went out immediately & cleaned it herself but copped just enough attitude to convey her irritation. 3. Thoroughly inspect moving parts (such as doors) & make repairs before renting vehicle. There was a problem with the passenger door this time. Half the time, it wouldn't open or unlock from either the inside or outside. Had to keep trying until it would finally open or we would give up and enter through the driver's side. 4. Ensure the radio is turned off before renting the vehicle. When I turned the ignition on, the radio volume was so high, I nearly had a heart attack and my drums blown out. 5. Document damage inside the cab. I found a cigarette burn on the driver's seat, and the visor on the passenger side was entirely missing (broken off). Before leaving the lot, I reported the damage and was told "We don't keep track of anything inside the cab." In all fairness, the Candler location doesn't seem to be sufficiently staffed. Being under-staffed can obviously negatively impact existing staff, provision of services, & customers. In conclusion. I will weigh convenience against customer service in deciding whether to return to the Candler location. I may opt to use the U-Haul on Memorial at Columbia next time. I've rented there twice & think they do a better job maintaining their vehicles. It's better staffed so they're able to do more & have less stress.

Don't scam your customers. I am absolutely livid about my experience. I was double charged, and have spent 7+ hours on hold and being bounced around. I have been promised return calls from the manager to resolve my issue, but I have yet to get a call back. I was actually told by someone at the location that double charging happens about 10 times per day. This is a scam. I don't know is this is specific to this location, or a U-Haul issue. I have called the 1.800 number several times, and again, only get bounced around and broken promises. I expect resolution asap. My phone number is 404.401.5059. Reservation # 22629559. I demand a credit and someone to assure me that the issue has been resolved. I find it odd that I can quickly get through to talk to a representative when I want to place an order, but to speak to customer service is impossible.

This is the worse location I ever rented from. I will not return to this location ever. The employees are rude and nasty and don’t wanna help with nothing. I only rented from this one because Covington highway was sold out

Have more people working the register/computer. There was only one lady who was the Manager who worked the line, while 8 people wait in line. As well make sure that all employees are trained to do equipment returns. I was advised by an employee to come back on the next business day to process return with manager if I wanted to process a return for supplies.(after waiting in line for an hour) When I came back the next day to return items I advised the manager of what I was told on the previous day, she then advised me that the girl was lying and she just didn't know how to process returns. Doesn't that fall on management in regards to training employees who work the register/computer?

The service manager was nice. However, it took forever to be helped. This location is to big to have only one person working the front desk. Waited to ling to be helped. I will not use this location again.

We arrived between 12:45 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Thurs, May 24th to pick up a 10 ft U-Haul. No employee was present inside the store. We waited and waited. Two other potential customers arrived after us and left due to non-service. Two female employees were standing between the two truck return lanes, arguing. I was waiting outside the store while my husband waited inside for someone to help us. I listened to the two women argue for over 30-40 min, while customers were neglected. When the women FINALLY finished with their disagreement, one of the female employees came inside to complete the paperwork for our rental. She gave my husband a key to a truck, told him it was in the lot, and was finished with him. He walked to the lot, attempted to open every truck we could have pulled off the lot and the key didn't work for any vehicle. He went inside, and she came outside with the key, visibly irritated. She attempted to open a few trucks and then told my husband our vehicle was the truck parked behind and in between other trucks. My husband told her there was no way he could pull that truck out. There was less than two feet clearance in front of the truck and between the truck and the ones parked next to it. She replied, sarcastically, “You want me to do it for you?” My husband told her, “Go ahead.” She couldn’t and went inside the store to obtain a key for the truck parked in front of the one she rented to us. She came back outside and moved the truck blocking the one we rented and went inside. Never did she apologize for the wait, the inconvenience or her rudeness. The process took over an hour to get a rental truck. We returned the vehicle Sunday, May 27th at 4:30 p.m. Again, no one was in the store. After 15 or so minutes, a female employee (the other of the arguing females from Thursday) came out of the garage area and started telling customers who had arrived after us (at least six other customers) that the store was closed. They needed to go park their trucks and they would get checked in the next morning. A local sheriff was parked in front of us, returning his rental, and kept rolling his eyes and commenting that this process was “ridiculous.” Again, we waited until after 5:00 p.m. before a male employee checked us in while the rude female checked in the sheriff. We were at the store over 45 minutes to return the truck. We chose this location due to its convenience, but we will NOT be back. This experience was the worst.

Please have your associates know all facts before accusing anyone of anything. My experience was great until the next morning. I dropped truck off at 10 PM as contract stated. At 8:00 AM Donald from the Candler store called my phone 2-3 times and left me a voicemail stating I never returned my truck and I needed to contact him “like now” as he stated. When I woke up (I had been moving all night) and heard this voicemail I was very mad! I called the store to speak with Donald and no one could get me to Donald and someone said they would talk to him about he approached/left messages on my voicemail. The store was able to see that I did infact returned the truck and had correct gas. I don’t know what was going on with Donald but that easy would have me steer a friend from renting from there. No one wants to feel accused of something they know they did not do.
