Person at the counter was very UN-friendly. Grunted at me most of the time, never said thank you, and made several errors while checking me in. To be fair, I did have a phone conversation with a much more pleasant woman when I called earlier in the day. However, at the counter, both men there were very non-customer oriented.

Make sure that your salespeople go out with the customer even if they tell me that they know what how to hook it up to make sure it's hooked up safely because I told him that I could do it and I didn't do it right and it came off when I hit a bump no damage calls but I was lucky I wasn't going that fast

Speedier response on where to pick up vehicle. I waited 1 hour then called back and a pickup was not even scheduled yet. I had called the Avery road location and they were supposed to tell me where to pickup the truck and trailer since they did not have one.

Rented a van for a one way trip to Portsmouth, Ohio. The employee rented the van to me only to discover that once I made it to Portsmouth they will not take the van because it was not suppose to leave from the Columbus area. Was told by a Uhaul agent from the toll free number that I could return Sunday and not have to pay the extra days fee just pay the mileage. Returned the van on Sunday, back to where I rented it. Was then emailed the receipt for Saturday and Sunday. Good job at not keeping their word. Would never recommend Uhaul ever again!

This comment is for what is likely a corporate issue. After the Georgesville store was closed, I had a need to contact them - what I really wanted to do was leave a message. So, I called the store number, and was routed into corporate customer service. I had to wait a while to access a person, and once I did, I explained that what I wanted was to leave a voicemail message with the specific store I'd been at (I accidentally put a house key on the U-haul key chain). There were many "please hold" moments, then the person came back on the line with a "go ahead" -- and I waited, but didn't hear a voicemail start up, so then queried... are you expecting that I'm leaving my message for the specific store with you, or are you in the process of putting me through to their voicemail? She explained that she could take the message, or that I could go to "customer service" for voicemail. Since nothing about the interaction had left me with the faith that any message I left with this not-related-to-this-store person, not a comment that she could email them directly, or that I could; not that she had a way to leave them a specific message; I opted for the voicemail. At which time, she dumped me back in to the same exact queue I'd been in to get HER. ..... So - if you leave an item on a truck; if you have some need to personally contact a closed store, even if you have their specific store phone number, it isn't possible. There also isn't a "contact us" on the app; nor is there a "contact us" on the website in mobile. It's a black hole. I rent about 24++ trucks a year from y'all - there should be a way to leave a voicemail with the dang store.

The truck had mechanical problems they kept dying and the tow haul light kept coming on when I was driving I would turn it off it would come back on if it drop it down into low gear it was a very dangerous truck to drive I've driven many U-Hauls and that one really sucked

The truck is in need of repairs. The alignment is off and the thing shakes like crazy even on brand new pavement. I had to fight it just to keep it straight.

I originally reserved a 26' truck. I received a call on Thursday that I would not have a 26' truck as there was none available. After discussing with Uhaul Traffic, they were able to get me a 15' truck reserved. The next day, about 90 minutes before closing on my home, I was told that the 15' truck was unavailable. Again, I worked with Uhaul traffic and they did find me a 17' truck, but it was 50 miles from the location that I had planned to pick it up. At this point I was thankful to have a truck, however the one I got was stuck in tow mode. The button on the end of the shifter lever would not work to turn it off. So this truck would never shift into overdrive. I averaged 7.9 miles to a gallon of gas. And more than half of my miles were driven hauling nothing because I had to pickup and return 50 miles from where I needed it. Uhaul did cut the price of the truck in half and charged me half of the miles. But because of the gas mileage issue, it still ended up costing me about $50 more than if I would have gotten the truck I reserved at the location I reserved. I also would like to note that everyone I worked with on the phone in Uhaul traffic in Columbus could not have been nicer. I know it was not their fault, and I appreciate them scrambling to help me find a truck. I have used Uhaul a lot and will continue to....but this time it was a lot of additional stress on top of the stress of moving.

I had a 2 day rental, contract # 89041850, called a few hours before I needed to have trailer returned and said we probably couldn't get the trailer back by the 4pm turn in time. Said that we would be there between 4 and 5pm and asked what the rate would be if we turned in an hour late and maybe we would try and keep longer. He said no worries, he'll mark it as delayed because of traffic and we didn't need to do that. I was at the location around 4:15pm and waiting a while because of the line of people and only one person helping. The guy who checked me said that he was emailing my bill and it was $21.50. I told him it should of been on the $60 range. He said that was just to hold it and the bill was $21.50. Okay, I left and returned to help continue moving my daughter. On way home from Columbus the following day me and wife wife talked about it and were confused as to the charge. I now see in my email after I returned home a day later that they charged me entire extra day charge and failed to mention that when we spoke. The invoice shows it was returned at 4:30pm. In fact I continued to move my daughter with my truck and if I had known they were gonna charge me an entire day and it was 30 mins late I would of kept it and finished using it to move my daughter. Which took me until 9:30pm that same day. I want a refund for the extra day and don't appreciate being lied to by whoever was on the phone and the guy who checked me in who was more interested in smoking his cigarette.
