The man who checked the truck in was a liar and he wasted two hours of my life. I’ll be calling about him today.

I got my van at 18:22, and I chose 2hours, but my due hour is 20:00. When I returned my van at 20:30, they charged me two period fee. Not reasonable.

We waited two hours in line for our truck. I would like to suggest customers who reserve on line should have a different line to wait or have express service. Also you need more than two or three staff members assisting customers, especially on the weekends. There was a message on the truck that stated low air pressure in tire. One of your staff members said it was alright. I hope I don't get charged for that. Thank you

Make a point to check the headlights; for the truck I rented, the passenger side headlight was out. Part of my travels were at night and the reduced visibility (especially when it was raining) made the drive more stressful.

Employees are wonderful and helpful, and hopefully that's who you have to deal with. If something goes wrong, and it did this time, local and national management is evasive and slow. I was overcharged by over $100 from this location, found out two days after I returned the van, and spent 2.5 hours on the phone over 7 calls over two weeks to finally receive a $90 refund. I was promised five times that management would contact me regarding the issue, and received zero calls. I didn't even receive notice of the partial refund. If you want a truck, go to the Somerville or Brighton locations, not this one.

NOT a reflection of this location: U-haul is generally a very efficiently run service, and my past experiences have been excellent all around. This time I had a few frustrations dealing with the national center and automated, dumbed down, lowest common denominator systems rather than local people. I made a reservation 9 months in advance anticipating a Memorial Day weekend rush. About a month prior I tried to change my pickup time by 2 hours - couldn't do it online so I called and sat on hold for 20 minutes. Alteration was made and I was told pickup location could be confirmed one week prior and was given a direct number to the "scheduling department". One week prior, scheduling department said they couldn't tell me until 24 hours prior. Four days out I got a confirmation pickup would be at a distant location - very inconvenient. Another phone call, on hold for 30 minutes, and I was able to arrange pickup at a more convenient location. Went to pick up truck and the original rate I was quoted 9 months prior (all records of which had disappeared - strategically not included in email correspondences, only in "my account") had mysteriously doubled. I questioned this and after way too much fussing it was corrected. Truck was great, service at both locations fine. No receipt though, "it'll be emailed to you". So I have no paper trail and I'm trusting that the automated systems will bill me properly. Didn't happen as the amount on my credit card was higher than it should have been. Another call and 30 minute hold...can the operator pull up an itemized billing? Does it exist in my secure u-haul account? No. She has to order it. Are you kidding? This is unacceptable - have we all turned into dupes who don't bother to check or care about what we are billed for things? I for one will never be that ultimate customer for a cheating company. This is unacceptable. And again, this is absolutely NOT a reflection of the fine people on the front lines, it is corporate greed and over simplification which makes for poor service from the company. In an effort to overly automate and streamline processing, there were glitches... and correcting them is a nightmare - should never be so hard. Truly a shame - u-haul used to be one of my favorite consumer experiences but that has been tarnished.

Everything was amazing with the staff/truck/experience. Just need a parking lot so I don't have to drive around looking for a spot to leave my car on street parking.

I called before arriving and was never able to speak to a representative. When I finally arrived no one explained what needed to be done or the steps to process the return. No one gave clear answers and I had to ask multiple times to get an explanation.

Taylor W. en

Grado:

The wait upon arrival was very long and not enough staffers working (esp after I completed the check-in from my phone), the parking lot at time of drop off was packed with random cars parked there who wouldn't move. Would not recommend gas stations in the neighborhood.

Grado:

My wife and I were running late in returning the truck. I called the number supplied on the receipt and was unable to get in touch with anyone, so I was unaware of what time the location closed or what the procedure was for returning the truck. My wife drove to the location as I filled up the gas tank to 1/2. When she arrived it appeared that the location was closing, so she approached two employees and asked if they were closing, they yelled at her and told her to read the sign. She tried to inquire as to what to do with the truck and they just berated her and told her to read the sign. At that point I pulled in with the truck and also tried to inquire what to do with the truck. All the Uhual employee did was yell me to pull it into a lane, which was impossible because turn was blocked by another Uhual truck and a sign. My 8 1/2 month pregnant wife then began to move the sign, which was weighed down by sand, the UHual employee watched her do this. I quickly exited the truck and moved the sign, with no assistance from the Uhual employees. After moving the sign I was able to drop off the truck and drop my keys in a slot that was not well labeled at all. Only after doing all this did the Uhual employee yell at me to ask if I had put the keys in the slot. They offered no assistance, berated my wife, and watched as she attempted manual labor while being pregnant. I used to use this location to get propane, which I will no longer do, I will also never use Uhual as a company again.

Because of the delay in leaving New Orleans, my son opted to shorten his drive time and arrived - returned the trailer on Friday, June 8 instead of Sunday, June 10. Is it possible to get a credit for the 2 unused days? Larry Page
