There was a VERY loud alarm going off in the facility that started after we were partially done unloading our things into our unit. Another person was there doing the same when we arrived and he stated that it happens all the time and that he asked that day if the employees could do anything about it. They told him that they couldn't. Honestly, my husband and I discussed purchasing ear plugs for when we have to go to the unit because we're concerned about damage to our hearing with that kind of alarm blaring in a metal and concrete building. It was a horrible and stressful experience, and I've never had that kind of thing happen at an indoor storage facility. My U-box was misplaced for some time. This was a downside, I know, but the upside is so good. I want to compliment Spencer, an employee there. She was determined to find my U-box. I would suggest not forcing people to buy their own tow plug in adapter if you are going to just keep it when your employee unhooks the trailer. I realize I should have looked prior but that's bound to happen when you let someone else put hands on what you're responsible for. I remembered about the adapter half way to my destination and checked first thing and it was gone. Didn't have chance to call till the following day where the manager told me someone stole it. There was no way it could be his employee. All I know is there's no plausible way someone stole it. I'm in the middle of moving out of state. It's expensive. I really can't afford to throw away money. You guys have lost a customer for life. And I Will spread the word.Gwendolyn C.
The person that rented the pickup truck to me, put the keys in a tray in the dashboard when I wasn't looking. You don't need the key in the ignition, so I could start the truck but when I arrived at the destination, I had a hard time finding the key. I tried to call the office but got a general line, and the person was NOT helpful. He wanted to call roadside support. I just needed to talk to someone at the office to find where he put the key. We eventually found it but it was super annoying. On return, I let them know what happened and told them to be sure to hand the key to renters.Lisa C.
Terrible customer service. Nick Davis was very short and although I understand he was counting his drawer he could have acknowledged me. The return after hours failed as the qr code could not be read by my phone. I tried the suggested alternate method of taking a photo but that process didn't recognize the qr code in the photo. Not sure if a bad or low quality qr code displayed or a tech issue with my phone but I do use it with qr codes all the time.Rick O.

Consistently great staff at U-Haul 👌Steve M. | First Impressions
Apparently a dealership for U-Haul. Selected a different city (about 1 hour away) for my drop off even though online I selected my hometown where I planned to drop it off. Signed the contract because didn't have much choice at the time since we were moving stuff in less than an hour. Was told it didn't matter and to just drop it off where I originally planned it online. Did not go well with drop off location U-Haul. They were not taking the truck and told me that I needed to drive it to wherever the contract stated. I told them no and that if their system doesn't work and doesnt allow them to pick my city then it's not the customers problem. Apparently if they can't select a city, that mean no U-Haul is taking equipment from what I was told by the U-Haul employee. So none of the 5 U-Hauls in my city were taking equipment. This is a known problem for U-Haul vs dealership locations giving bad information and doing whatever they want. The only way I was able to get them to take it was to call someone further higher up the chain to change it for me. Was it a pain in the ass, yes... But it was resolved and they need to fix that issue for dealership locations because they represent U-Haul as well.Cha V.
There were only 2 guys working on Sunday 8/14. However, both were busy busting their butts and multi-tasking. Both seemed to be hard workers. I'd rent from this location again.Lacey B.

You delivered someone else's U-Box to to me and sent mine to the wrong state. You only found mine because I was savvy enough to write down the code on the box before you took it away. Your staff was not helpful or reliable in communicating with me. I had to call nearly every day for a month to get updates. When my box finally arrived a month late, no one notified me. The U-Box regional manager went out of town without leaving a note for his staff. I had to call and have staff go out and look for my box at the location. They were not aware of what was going on and did not know where my box came from or whose it was because it was not entered into the system. After my box finally arrived and I unloaded it and returned it, I was charged a storage fee for the original box (not mine) and had to call three times to get refunded. I also think that means that the owner of that box still hasn't received their items. You all need to do better. This was a mess and completely derailed the first month of my life after a difficult cross-country move. I've made every effort to get the word out about how this all went down, and have strongly recommended to my social circle against ever seeking services from U-Haul.Charles M.

This comment is not about the location that stored out Unix but more about the whole experience. It was a complete failure on U-Hauls part that resulted in me driving more than 400 miles and 6 hours round trip. I would encourage you to check the record and you will see that I had arranged to have a box ready for pick up in Moscow Idaho only to find on the day that I was picking up that it was in Spokane WA. With no other options I reluctantly picked it up. The location that I picked up at is also something that Uhaul should look into. I was told that it would be delivered back to Moscow I'd when I wanted to pick it up but again had to drive to Spokane to get it. That trip takes 1.5 hours each way and a lot of fuel. This service should not be offered in that area and the location in Moscow should visited by corporate at some point. I'm despite knowing how much extra work and Money this experience cost me the the company did not offer any remedies. Unfortunately this is now my perception of customer service at Uhaul and I will no longer be using them as my primary choice for moving and storage.vincent M.

I was charged $9 for mileage over. But it wouldn't of happened if we would of been able to pick it where I had scheduled it Marysville (10miles from my house). But the night before the pickup it was changed to Anacortes (an 1 hour away) and THAT caused the overage! I don't believe I should have to pay for something that's not my fault! Returned the truck after extending the rental by 24 hours by contacting the scheduling department. I think its crazy the attitude I got from the guy checking me in. "We've been trying to get ahold of you for a couple days" I replied that we spoke with scheduling and extended the rental by 24 hours. He replied with "well scheduling never told us about it". Seems like a communication issue within the company and the fact they talk to paying customers like that is freaking insane. No where near a good customer experience at all. The truck had 2 issues that made my move more difficult than it should have been. First: The ramp was too short in ratio to the truck size. This resulted in it being more steep than the last 3 uhaul trucks I've rented, which in turn increased the physical excertion necessary to use the dolly on the ramp. Second: The shocks were terrible. A friend rented her own truck the day before and we drove the same exact route. He rental truck took the potholes and broken road as you exist a uhaul truck to perform. However my truck shock, rocked and bounced so badly that one of my stabilizing straps broke and my small shelf light fell over. I informed the employee who checked my truck back in and didn't seem very concerned about it and made no comment on my broken property (negative nor positive).Myra J.

Had originally reserved at 4110 E Sprague location. I did a pre-check-in, but still had to wait in line only to find out while they were serving another customer that they didn't have the equipment I reserved, because they had to send him to another location. I also had to go elsewhere for my equipment. It caused a 1.5-hour delay for me. New location still wanted it back within 6 hours of my reservation time despite the fact that my late receipt of the equipment was not my fault.Craig L.

Only issue we ran into was accessing the unit through a door other than the loading bays. There are no specific instructions at those doors as to how to what you need to enter to gain access using them. When we moved out the loading bays were full and we had to maneuver around another customers items in order to exit the bay door with ours. When I made a reservation for my storage I was never told anything very bad communication and it made my day bad!’I tried calling the number 509 922 4465 that’s what they told me to call if anymore questions!! Well I tried calling 3 times and each time was on hold for over a hour so I never got to ask my questions!! So I wanted to know if a king size mattress would fit in a 10ft truck and the cost and few other things!!I ended up getting a 15ft truck and had to drive all the way to the valley!! All huge access doors were broken and made unhauling very inconvenient. There was only one man operating the front when a huge line of help was needed. My paid for movers (mind you hired through your uhaul services) had to wait 30 mins to do their job that I paid them to do because of the inconvenience of all the large doors being closed off.. When I needed assistance with the doors I was unable to receive help as there was a 30 min wait to get assistance from the 1 man doing everything by himself. Then when asked if he could open up the larger automatic door he left snd never came back. I lost out of 30 mins I paid my movers for due to trying to figure out how I was going to haul things inside with 3 other large trucks trying to haul at the same time as us.Tori S. | First Impressions

I was put next to someone who I guess works out of theirs, or something. Literally lines the walk way with their stuff, cant get a cart through. Why they were not put at the end of the row so they can use the corner and hall with the book end, where there are doors, and its the far corner no one uses it, except me to go around to get access. I don't know. I had to have an employee get me a cart from them as they were using it sit stuff on a record players, and when asked just moved it to a milk crate. Rate this storage facility at U-City POOR. The Staff was nice and tried to be helpful but they were not trained in the U-Haul system to move in customers. It took a lot of phone calls to their Manager Adam to figure out how to admit us. We had to wait 3 hours for our pre-reserved storage unit. When we finally were in the system and signed the contracts and got our access code to the storage facility, the entire system was down and we could not get in. More phone calls to the Manager Adam. It took another hour to get access. By this time we were tired and still had an entire Truck to unload. We did not know the storage units were under ground and have to use an elevator to get to it. This is so messed up. By this time it is after hours. We even tried to see if we could get another storage facility somewhere else, but all of the other places were closed by this time and it is Saturday night. No places are open on Sunday. So we endured the torture of unloading the truck and using a small dolly provide by U-Haul to get all of our stuff moved in. This took way to long. And to top it all off, when we were done which was late into the night, the security system went down again and we could not get out of this facility. Phone calls to U-Haul go unanswered. You cannot get a live person and their emergency call button did not work. Their secure garage doors to get out are 20 feet high. Luckily we had a ladder that we put in storage and was able to use it to climb up and pull the latch release so we could lift the door to get out. I do not see how U-Haul thinks these storage units are going to work with only 2 bays to drive into and then move/haul in an elevator underground. It takes 3 times as long to move in and IF their system goes down you are either locked out and worse, locked in and cannot get out. If I would have known this facility was set up this way we would have paid for storage elsewhere. I can see why they are advertising one month free. We will be moving out ASAP...after we get rested up. This is the worst moving experience we have ever had. And to find out this facility has only been open for a couple days and no training for the employees, plus a poor system with a lot of bugs to work out. This is not how this was advertised on line. when we first got the uhaul, they didn't have one available for us to pick up and the man was not helpful. When they dropped it off it was hours late and they didn't know where it was. Terrible!!!Courtney S.
