The steering wheel was out of position and the speedometer could not be viewed as it was being driven straight down the road. it was not clear how much fuel i needed to make it to my destination, so I ended up leaving about 1/2 tank in truck ! an extra cost to me.ANNE C.

I ordered my hitch online from uhaul on October 8th for installation on October 20th. I received a call on the 19th saying the parts werent in. After numerous phone calls I found out the part had been in Vancouver since October 13th. We had to contact Fedex, track down the package. Finally on October 22nd they were able to get it Installed. Chris, the gentleman who did the install stayed late and got the job done.Karen W.

I picked up at 7ish, thought being was 2 day would return at 7. I was there right at 7 guy was outside, walked inside for minute then came back to lock door. I said didn't have phone to check in mobile. And it would take short time to help me or could wave drop fee. Come to find out return was set for 6pm so they also charged extra day. I've used uhaul a lot and spend lots of money to be handled this way. I would never want someone running my business this way!! I request being credited appropriately! KristyKristy G.

Does this contract say that we had 1/4 tank upon pickup? My husband thought that someone syphoned gas from the tank and only left 1/4 tank. He spent $120 to return the truck full. We drove it a couple miles from the pick up a couple miles back. A credit for that gas would be greatSteve P.

It's amazing how a good experience can be destroyed by the smallest thing. I was given the truck with a tank slightly less than 1/2 full. I brought it back with the same amount of gas. (I wish I could attach pictures of the fuel gauge for you to see the two pics). When I got my receipt, I was charged for added fuel. Sticking it to the customer doesn't create loyalty. It does the opposite. When someone feels victimize, they go to lengths to reciprocate.Michael P.

The guy that helped me in the morning when I picked up the truck was great, so this shouldn't reflect poorly on him (though I'd definitely remind customers explicitly, every time to take a picture of the gas gage and mileage before leaving and not leave it up to some obscure text link). Chris, I believe his name is, who helped me in the evening on the second, is why I feel compelled to leave bad feedback. He overcharged me and when I tried to respectfully contest the charges, he blamed me for not taking pictures and was very quick to say â€œI can't do anything for youâ€ and was very rude besides that. Also, the online self-return doesn't work at this location due to internet issues? Or at least that's what Chris said when I tried to get it to work and even went through the steps to â€œallow location sharingâ€ etc, he was equally unhelpful with this issue. I got the feeling that he really didn't like his job, which I tried to be understanding about, but then he was just straight up rude and didn't even consider the possibility that I was overcharged and didn't look into the situation at all. I came back in this morning and thankfully the guy that helped me was sympathetic to my situation, said I was charged for two sessions (which should have been an obvious fix for Chris?) and for gas that I didn't use (tank was below E when I drove it off the lot) and issued a refund for this. The only reason I'm not going to write a scathing review due to terrible evening service and unreliable equipment (sounds like you guys have a siphoning issue that ought to be dealt withâ€¦.or at least don't blame the customers?) is because of the good grace of the long haired gentleman that helped me this morning, apologized for his rude coworker, and gave me a much needed/appreciated refund.KRISTIN NICOLE M.

This location was totally slammed when I arrived. I was told after checking in that someone would be outside with the key to my rental. I waited for probably 15 minutes before seeing someone and when I asked him about a key, he was a little terse while telling me he didn't have any keys and that I would have to go back inside. Then I was told the keys would be in the cup holder. I am sure everyone was feeling the stress of having to quickly turn vehicles around, so I understand some of the brevity and confusion. But it was frustrating to be leaving with my vehicle later than anticipated.Lauren G.

You have a significant theft problem at this site. The first truck we got into the gas had been siphoned off. We observed several other trucks in similar states. The staff were very helpful to us, but you need to do something to ensure your trucks are secure. The lot is completely accessible.Kimberley S.
A little more diligence on the part of the people checking the vehicles in might help. I was charged for 261 miles on my rental when I actually drove only 10 miles. Kudos to the Manager of the place who fixed it quickly and gave me a phone call to confirm it, but it was still a pain to deal with during a time when everything is already hectic enough from moving.Joseph B.

Gave it back to you cleaner than we got it because had to clean mud and dirt out of the back. Also got a call from a not extremely friendly lady questioning us about what day we dropped off , what time, etcâ€¦ because it seems the trailer was misplaced. The pick up process went okay although the employee who checked me out seemed out of it and more concerned about personal conversation with his coworker than assisting me to be able to be on my way. The return of the rental was nothing short of unprofessional and disgusting! I had to sit and wait 25 mins for the 2 employees to return from wherever they took off to. They store was left completely unattended and no one in sight. I yelled out to see if anyone could help me In case they were tucked in the back but not 1 person was around. After 25 mins of waiting, 2 employees returned from off the street- no clue where they went.. probably to get high. I asked what the deal was and they just shrugged. I told them along with the 2 others I was with that we were waiting for over 25mins and they just ignored our comments. You need new employees! Communication about the reservation, the tools necessary for attaching lights, and the appointment to install them was disjointed. We had to make several trips to U-Haul to get everything taken care of including renting a different trailer than we reserved. Drop-off was not possible after hours and the store was closed by 8pm even though it's listed as open till 10pm Sunday. My bill was FAR FAR above what was quoted to me and I will never be using Uhaul again as this is shockingly ridiculous. I was charged 19.95 for the day, as planned, I thought, but then there is an additional 40 charge??? No explanation. I also only checked out 6 blankets, but was charged for a dozen, as well as an additional 20 again without any explanation.Ryann C.

I could never get anyone in the NE Sandy (Portland) office on the phone, even after 15 minutes on hold. Thought that was a U-Haul cost saving thing maybe, but when I called the Oakland Coliseum location to hear a recording of holiday hours, I accidentally pressed the wrong option and got a human in that office within seconds. The van had not been cleaned, someone's fast food lunch bag was in the cab and blueberries were squished all over the floor so that means it had not been sanitized or cleaned between use. It had a funky smell as well. It cost me $80 to rent a van for three hours when you say your vans cost $19.95. All the fees and taxes are ridiculous. The staff were very helpful and polite. The best thing about this location is its manager, David. He is available at nearly all hours of the day which made my experience much better, and I thank him for that. However, everything else (mostly related to U-Haul at the corporate level) was unprofessional and disorganized. I was told (by a very kind and helpful customer service rep) that I could move into this location after-hours. I spent hours trying to get in, and ultimately ended up having to wait until morning to move in, which caused me to miss a flight and take on the expense. I learned later that move in after 10pm is not possible, which I was assured would not be an issue over the phone previously. Upon move-out, I had scheduled a truck at this location for 8/1, but when I could not find the reservation in my app I called the location. The clerk told me that the reservation was for 7/31 for a "Frank" (my name is Jack) and therefore was cancelled for no-show. I was looking at the confirmation message for 8/1 at noon, which I told the clerk, who responded, "the reservation was for 7/31 and it is cancelled. I don't know what you want me to do about this". Instead of fixing the problem he suggested I figure it out on my own. I ended up getting lucky and finding equipment at another location. I have very little trust with U-Haul now. I know that my money is not safe with U-Haul and I anticipate losing money and time when working with this company. The employees are not equipped to properly solve customer issues. I will not be a returning customer because I think it's bad business to make multiple errors (similar problems have occured the last two times I have used U-Haul in Seattle and Chicago) and tell the customer to figure out what the company did wrong and to fix it themselves on their own hour and dime.Jack R. | Overall Experience

It was nice having a keycard to access whenever needed and not having to deal with staff during Covid. The facility was temperature and humidity controlled as advertised. The storage unit was secure and easily accessible. Whenever I had to talk to staff, which was only during move in and move out, they were kind and helpful. Only complaint I had is one of my boxes had mouse poop on it when I moved out. I know it isn't easy to control, but that was kinda gross.
