I rented a truck and a tow haul for my Car, truck alignment was pulling to the right when I got on the highway.. buzzing sound in the cockpit when I turn the headlights on after dark.. Tow haul had a tire that was not aligned with the tire behind it causing it to sway back and forth on the highway.. I felt so nervous and unsafe with my family in the cab that I eventually pulled over and got a hotel for the night trying to make sure I did not hit anybody since it was harder to see anything back there at night time.. so I spent an extra 150 on a hotel when usually I drive the hole trip one way. I called U Haul the next day to ask for a partial compensation for the problems I was having they basically told me to kick rocks And to pull over and a uhaul technician would have to come out and resolve the problem, or actually told me to rent another hotel and they would meet me there. The manager at the location was extremely rude and basically just kept telling me that U Haul doesn’t reimburse until an inspection is made on the equipment and that is why they are not bankrupt like budget. Already uncomfortable, crammed into the cab with my family I did not want to pull over on the side of the road and wait to God knows how many hours for a technician. I then called the one 800 U Haul number instead where they opened a claim for me and assured me I would get a call back within 24 to 48 hours. 48 hours later I never received that call only for me to call U Haul back and wait on hold for an hour and 20 minutes for them to tell me that my case has been closed because it was notated that I denied roadside assistance. I did not deny roadside assistance I simply asked a manager if she expects me to pull over on the side of the highway to wait for the technician (traveling from fl to md) she replied with “I can do want to do”. I finally got in contact with the case manager that said she could not resolve the problem right then but she would look into it and call me back I am still waiting on that call. Not only that but I gave them the exact address I was going to and they had me dropping off the truck at one location and the tow trailer at a different location. This location was 25 mins away even though I noticed there was a u haul litteraly 2 min way from me on the next street over.I did not notice this until I looked at the paperwork trying to find the address because I was sure it had to be the uhaul store next door. I could not wait to return this nightmare of a rental. I called and asked them if they can rectify this which they said they did but when I pulled up to the facility the guy had no information that I even rented a tow trailer. Luckily I had all my receipts and paperwork and showed him. I pointed out the tire situation and he said “wow that’s definitely not supposed to be like” and that I should call U Haul and they will reimburse me for all the trouble I went through. Obviously not. I’ve rented plenty of moving trucks and have towed m

I understand that there are components happening beyond our view. With that said, check in was fine and that constant communication with the express check in was helpful. Check out was not understandable. All trucks are due at 4:30 and we live in South Florida, so it's going to rain at that time. We were backed up five deep for 40 minutes with no service and four employees waiting under cover, except for one in a truck folding blankets (so safety wasn't an excuse). Once it lightened up, an employee came to the truck, asked for the mileage and checked us out. He seemed to be the only one working on a Saturday at 4:30 checkout time. HE was wonderful, once he got to us after 40 minutes of no motion. One truck was even abandoned in the line. Improvement could be: utilize more employees to check out if it's that simple. Be prepared to work in the rain or provide a covered area to work, tent, truck port set up, etc.. Rainstorms are constant and expected. The site has been here for over a decade - not sure why that isn't figured out yet.The checkin person even mentioned they would be slammed at checkout that day - seemed to have the personnel, just not the drive to check out. Especially with trucks spilling out onto the road. We made it on time, hoping for the same courtesy. Thanks.

This location was CRAZY busy. In the morning, there was one person and a line of about 12 people. I had selected online check in, but I still ended up having to talk to a person because no one put the key to my vehicle in the lockbox. Then, when I returned my vehicle, it was also busy; I had to wait about 20 minutes just to have someone review the vehicle and during my wait about 8 more vehicles showed up.

IWAS GIVEN A VANBUT UPON CHECKING TH FLOOR MAT WAS UPSIDE DOWN I ASKED TO GET ANOTHER VAN THEY CLAIM THEY ARE ALL THE SAME, I ASKED FOR A MANAGER THEY TOLD ME NONE WAS AVAILABLE AND ALL THE OTHER VAN THAT I HAVE SEEN WAS BOOKED. I WENT BACK INSIDE TO ASK FOR A DIFFERENT VAN FINALLY THEY GIVE ME ONE. I RETURNED THE VAN ON 5/27 2019 ONE HOUR LATER FROM THE TIME THAT I TOOK IT. I FOUND ALL THE OTHER CARGO VAN IN THE SAME PLACE. THE RETURN GUY WAS VERY RUDEAND CALL ME TROUBLE MAKER BECAUSE I COMPLAINT THAT ITOLD THE GUY THAT I DID NOT NEED INSURANCE WHICH THEY CHARGE ME ANYWAY ALTHOUGH I TOLD THE YOUND MAN NO DO NOT WANT INSURANCE I AM USING MINE.

Find better ways to accommodate customers when the system is down! Ensure accuracy of time of receipt of equipment to reduce the stress of being overcharged. There should be a way for locations to report to the company that their system is down! Customer service was unaware of individual location issues. There was no guarantee provided to me regarding receiving my rental within a timely manner.

I was uncomfortable with random men walking up to me and my vehicle seeking work as movers. As a single woman with a daughter it made me feel uneasy that people hung out by the door seeking work because the world is unstable these days... Other than that customer service was great. Thanks.

The staff was very helpful. Staffie Worrell went above and beyond her duties to make sure that this rental worked out. However, the trailer had a major failure during the rental: one wheel came off completely. Very dangerous! I have no idea what caused this failure, so I raised the equipment maintenance as n/a.

The young lady that initiated my check in when I returned truck tried to charge me $30 additional dollars for gas. She misread the contract so I went inside to speak with another person. The person that eventually completed my check out saw her error and rectified the charge. He was awesome!

I had the truck for 4 hours You offer no military discounts. The mileage price is way too high. Should be able to rent for half days. Still cost 100 dollars 41 dollars just for mileage.

I made an appointment online and I put my credit card info in as well. My appointment was for 1:30 and I had to have the truck back by 5:30. I didn’t get the truck until 2 pm and I didn’t get the extra half hour credited to my time. At one point all employees walked out of the office and left myself and another customer alone in there. When I came back to drop off I wasn’t greeted by anyone until I went inside to try to return my truck. Awful customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Service was absolutely terrible. It took 45 minutes of standing in line before I got to the counter where one of the clerks had decided to take a 30 minute bathroom break and leave one poor clerk at the counter to help a line out the door of people When I finally did get to the trailer I reserved the person hooking it up told me I had to go stand in line again for 15 or 20 minutes and buy an adapter for my vehicles wiring harness and I don’t know why the person at the counter wasn’t able to verify that my vehicle had the proper equipment before sending me to hook up to the trailer A few days before I had also bought a utility dolly for $40 and my first time using it the plastic wheel broke off the axle

Extremely unhappy with the customer service. We are a small business and we sent an employee to pick up one of our vans after having a hitch installed. There was an issue with the connection piece. I received a call from my employee and asked if I could speak to the U-Haul employee. They refused to speak to me and told me to call the store number. Which I did, only to be put in a phone tree and my call was answered by the someone outside this store. They told me I had to keep calling until I got the actual location. Which I did, I finally got the store and I have now been on hold over 10 minutes waiting for the manager to come on the line to speak to me about the issues. This is completely unacceptable. We now have to bring our van back to have the correct service done, costing us time and money and loss of the van for another day. As I end this complaint I am still waiting for the manager to pick up the phone.

You overcharged me saying I dropped my vehicle off after working hours which I did not. You charged me for rags and a dolly when I did not use them and the plastic band was never broken. You charged me for not filling the vehicle up when I was given it as a half tank and I returned it with the same. After I brought these problems up and I was able to come to the store to resolve it I was already refunded for the overnight charge and they are saying I have to come back again to talk to the manager for the dolly and rags. I will be calling higher to talk about this. I have already been moving all day hince the truck and the last thing I want to do is argue with yal and keep returning to your store after work.

I returned the vehicle the night before it was due back. The phone was dead. The vehicle was the first vehicle in the return line. Uhaul still charged 19.99 for an additional day. Even when the vehicles on the lot before, the location was open. I told by they have no way of knowing when you turn the vehicle in. So this location does not check the vehicle in the return line. When they open in the morning. This is interesting.

My trailer was not secured to the hitch ball. Luckily I noticed before it fell off. One of the employees checked my trailer lights while I turned on turn signal and brake lights. Renting using the app is so easy. Really enjoyed the process that way versus the old way of waiting in a long line. The only thing that was wrong was that I received the wrong key in the lock box. That was quickly fixed though when I brought it to the attention of one of the employees outside.

Truck wasn’t mechanically ready to reissue. Staff at desk was disrespectful, lied multiple times about quality service. Fuses missing or replaced caused us to sleep on ground one additional night. Worst rental experience in 32 of moving. Will not be renting U-haul anything ever again to Dangerous, disrespectful, racist and stressful experience but I’ll never forget so it will not happen twice! When we showed up at 2:45, the installation technician had already left for the weekend and moved our appointment to Monday, April, 1. We were never told that our appointment had been rescheduled. On Monday, at pick up, they attempted to up charge us about $40 stating that the hitch that they had to use was different than what we had been charged for. This was the second car I had brought there and realized that this was a scam since they did the same thing with my previous vehicle. I would not recommend this location.

If I had been informed of this price hike, I would have chosen an enclosed truck which would have been much less expensive. Total scam to exhort monies out of customers. For return of the vehicle, after hours, the customer should be informed of that option. I was told at the time of pickup, that the vehicle HAD to be back by 4:30pm even though the location is supposed to be open until 5pm. No one offered information on after hours drop off.

When you drive the 20 foot truck 43 miles. I refilled 6 gallons of gas, showed the receipt to the checkout person, still said the gauge wasn’t exactly where it was. Than proceeded to charge me for additional 2.5 more gallons of gas, a charge of 11.50 to my bill. No way does a truck get less than 5 miles per gallon, did not tow and drive average speed of 55. I tried to explain and reason with the U-Haul, nothing can be done, you are stuck paying this charge. Once you place an order, you should receive an email receipt with the complete details of the order which would include the price, pickup location and drop off location. Even if you go online to look at the order, you can't see all the details. When you receive the quote for the cost of the rental, the taxes should be included so you know the total price. You shouldn't have to wait until you go to the pay when picking up the truck to find out. Also, I shouldn't have to select my drop off location again when i already specified the location when i placed the order. There was no seatbelt for the passenger which is dangerous and should be illegal. The gasoline gauge never registered full when filling up the tank with gas. When turning in the vehicle, I shouldn't be prompted that I dropped off the truck at the wrong location. The location was selected at the time the order was initially placed, yet your system changed the location so you can try to charge me more money by changing it and saying it was the wrong drip off location. NO, I will not use uhaul again or recommend uhaul to anyone else.

Overall customer service was poor to say the least. Employees clearly did not want to be there nor help. I have been using this place and company for years but after my last experience I am planning on switching companies. I was there over an hour trying to drop off my truck and dealt with multiple (non smiling) poor attitude individuals. In addition, I called beforehand, to respectfully inform the location that I would be a little late however I had a reservation. Things unfortunately come up on the day of moving. I let the rep know that I would be there shortly (within the hour). She told me that I might not have a truck and it's first come first serve. I told her that I had a reservation and to please hold it. So instead on speaking to me she left me on hold for 20 mins and decided never to come back. The employees should understand that moving is a stressful endeavor and the last thing you should tell a customer is that they might not have a truck. Overall experience: Poor. Not using Uhaul again.

Quite unprofessional that a customer waiting & unacknowledged while new lines were forming, can’t ask where the line is? Clerk was a pleasure but waiting line was very long and this place is incredible disorganized. I waited an hour in line, and only one clerk was working. The clerk told me that the early mornings are typically a very busy time and she wasn't sure why there were not more people working. I even completed the "express" registration 2 days earlier and the website assured me there would be no wait with this express registration - not true - you still have to wait in line and then when you finally get waited on, the software had numerous glitches so it basically takes just as long as when you don't pre-check-in via their app. Also, beware - they trick you with the dolly that is strapped into the truck. We detached the dolly to get it out of the way for loading, not knowing that as soon as you break the cable-tie holding it down, you get charged extra for it. This place needs better management.

Exceedingly long line. I waited 20 minutes or longer. When I rented a van there last month, I reserved it online, only to have to wait in line again at the store. There seems to be no avoiding the long wait at the store. Despite that, the staff appear to be competent and efficient. The rental process is tedious for everyone.
