Never more than one person working the counter with a line of customers. Takes 15 mins each person. Twice uhaul hasn't had my truck that I reserved. Never received the 50$ credit for these as well.

Customer Service was Above Excellent!! From the clerk who took my reservation over the phone, exceptional. And the clerk at the facility, super nice and very informative. Highly recommend this location.

The pickup truck was dirty on the outside and throughout the interior. There was (minor) damage to the exterior, like small chips and scuffs, that didn't show in the photos that Uhaul provides in the self-check. Thankful that I took my own photos, because the check-in person pointed to the chips. When I told him they were there before and I had uploaded the photos, he said those weren't a problem. Yet, he was pointing them out and said he needed to "put a sticker on them". I told him to write on the sticker that they were there before I got the truck. The pickup truck was in bad shape. Along with it being filthy inside and out, and smelling like sweat, there was a light on the dashboard that said the air filter needed to be changed. So, it doesn't appear that anyone is looking after the vehicles. Also, I arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled pickup time at 9:00 a.m., and I didn't get to drive off until 9:45. Not too pleased.

My experience over all was so negative from a older man employee. He was so aggressive and rude tone to not only his co worker (young soft spoken gal) but customers. His inability to handle stressful situations showed when we was having technical difficulties on the computer. Talking loudly and making remarks. Calling for back up over and over the head set then talking negative about his peers in front us, customers.

Dropped off more than an hour before due time. Truck and auto transport at the same exact time. They gave us no paperwork at all. Signed nothing. An hour later we got the receipt for our truck return. But not the auto transport. Then at 1pm someone from customer service called me to ask when we would be returning the auto transport. I told them it was returned at the same exact time as truck. 30 minutes later I get a receipt in my email. Charging me an extra day. Not cool!

When i arrived to pick up my truck it was not ready for me as it was behind other trucks so i had to wait. The second dolly i rented was not in the truck and i had to wait for the very rude older lady behind the counter to let us take the second dolly. Overall we probably wasted an hour in what was supposed to be a quick mobile device experience.

Manager completing my reservation failed to explain the need for the information requested. She said a number was needed where someone would answer. She did not explain that she would need to call the person to verify whom I was. She didn't explain that an employee would have to hook up the trailer to my vehicle. She just kept asking a female employee if she knew how to hook up a trailer. Even when I told her that I knew how to hook up the trailer, she did not inform me that it was a company requirement. I asked the male employee and he told me it was a requirement by the company. Manager was not going to honor my reservation because it was after 2pm. I was late due to 3 accidents delaying me from getting there.

You guys have too many trucks and car haulers so it makes it very difficult to bring in a 26ft u-haul truck to get the auto transport attached.

Customer service was horrible, they were rude and unfriendly. The scheduling for this location was also horrible and when I called to recieve help from scheduling department for this location the lady was extremely rude and down right disrespectful on the phone

We went out of our way to pick up our Reserved truck in the Porterville location And they gave It away to someone else Before we got there. Glad they found one In Bakersfield for us. The wait was long but expected on a weekend. Although there was one gentleman sort of rude. Obvious he does not like his job or dealing with people.

Have your employees do a full walk around and not be in a rush and have the buyer (me) put stickers up on damages... on one side and try to blame for old damages they didn't catch... get it together!

I've rented trailers from uhaul before, but this was the first time I was hooked up before I did paperwork. Smart idea to make sure the light work on the tow rig. The only issue was I had a one way rental, and I was initially hooked up to an in-town trailer, so after I completed the contract I had to get swapped out to a different trailer. Slightly inconvenient, but not that big of a deal. The guy who hooked up both the trailers was great it was hot outside and he was busting tail to get customers in and out as quickly as possible. If I ever have to rent a trailer out of Bakersfield again I'll choose this location.

Firstly, they rented me a truck with a nail in the back tire. You would think that they would inspect all around the wheels. Secondly, the door was really hard to pull down to shut. My arms are so sore from doing so. Plus, the drivers door was fallen and wouldn't close right.

They were very busy, that was hard with trying to contact them to ask questions and to confirm info. Although the car pully trailer was great and a life saver in our situation. It was perfect for what we needed and the price was right. We were very thankful.

Our equipment with everything that was important to us in the world was stolen in Bakersfield. Uhaul did not lift one finger to help us in any way whatsoever and further made us rent another uhaul at our expense just to get home. I will never rent another haul as long as I live.

I waited 25mins in line to rent a utility dolly because the two girls working there dont know what they're doing . I get to the counter and the gal didnt even know how to process a utility doll rental. She had to ask for help.

After reserving a car dolly and told one will be waiting for me, I arrive in the time I advised I would arrive, I was told there were none available and I was at the top of a waiting list. Fortunately, a car dolly was scheduled to be picked up 15 minutes later. I waited 20 minutes and the person didn't pick it up, so I was able to rent it. Other than the reservation mishap, my experience wasn't bad.

Before even reaching the location for 2 days a gentleman called and was condescending and rude. There was no need for the 2nd call, but to continue the harassment. I reported him to the manager of the pickup location. I most likely will never rent from U-Haul again. The first person I dealt with was rude and didn't explain things well. The manager had to become involved and explained there were policy changes that they have done before the rental process could happen. It was irritating to not know all the requirements (which I few as an invasion of privacy) before renting.

They need to clean their vehicles, know where they are located, and give the customer the correct keys the first time. I went inside the store five times and the manager was visibly angry that we kept coming inside and issues were not solved immediately or within any grace. As I exited the store for the last time, a woman walking inside the building told me it was her fourth time going in and that the manager was also being rude/angry to her. Worst experience ever with this Uhaul location.

I got to the destination to tow my car and the trailer popped off of the ball of the truck and I fixed it and inspected and the bakersfield location did not tighten the trailer onto the trailer, nothing broke thankfully but they need to make sure the trailers are connected before giving them to customers

This place is ridiculous. I had a reservation and was supposed to pick up at 1030. They only had one person working the desk and there was a line of about 8 customers in front of me. Finally at one point an employee came to help the girl at the desk, but only assisted with 2 customers. Then he went back to what I assumed is the break room. Once I got to the counter, I was in and out quickly. Dropping off the truck was even worse. I got to the counter and told the guy I accidentally overfilled the gas more then it started with and he rudely said that basically its too bad because they don't reimburse for that and then told me to go look for some guy outside to check the truck back in. Found that guy working at the propane Section. Waited in line for him For 10 minutes, only for him to tell me and 4 other customers That there is someone else to help us if we went back inside the store. We all go inside, the guy at the counter told us to look for the guy outside. We find the guy who was now supposed to check us back in, and wait another 20 minutes. I wouldn't mind the wait except the guy, who I assumed is the manager, was extremely rude and made the wait even worse. I didn't even make the reservation for this location. It just happened that the place I made it for, changed the reservation on me. They need to get their stuff together and learn about customer service.
