I will never ever recommend the u-haul one in Kingston NY, they screwed up my order and the day I was suppose to pick up the truck they said that I was suppose to pick it up the day before and I said no the origional contract was for saturday and not friday, they said they had nothing for me, so i had to drive 45 minutes to this location to get a truck and ended up paying for the extra mileage to bring it back to kingston, plus i had to arrange for someone to pick me up when I returned it, I have the text message saying when to pick up the truck in kingston and the employee says we don't go by the text... you would think when their employee makes the mistake and they know it but won't admit it, I would atleast got 10% off of my bill..very disappointed with the kingston one, my hometown

Computers took forever to load reservation. Invoiced double the reserved amount at counter and had to repeat process as “walk in” customer.

The folks that check in the vehicle need to check everything out on the vehicle before it goes out. The passenger side headlight was out and was given a warning from a local police. Also as the fuel prices are still VERY high if the customer leaves the vehicle with more fuel the customer should get a credit, though I know that historically has not.

The truck I received had the cup holder portion falling out, the dolly holding frame was broken so it made it seem as though I used the dolly. The staff team seemed to not want to do their job, they weren't welcoming and I felt as though if I brought an issue on the truck to them it would be made into my problem. Upon returning the truck(2 hours before original dropoff time which was 4pm), I was ready to do the walk around so I knew If I saved money for going under the amount of estimated miles, but instead I was greeted with a "okay, leave the keys on the seat you can go" then at 6:30pm I get a call asking to return the truck, even though I left the truck with them 4 hours prior.

The crew and upper management that work with and for this location is the BEST!! They went out of their way to help and work with me after someone I was associated with, violated the U-Haul policy. This was not me but a family member and this put me in an awful situation moments before the start of a large moving job in Poughkeepsie. The managers name was Jennifer and she was amazing. So friendly and pleasant and didn't write me off when she first saw the issue, and she very well could have told me to leave for my brother violating policy with a late truck return weeks ago. I would personally never break the U-Haul rules but in the moment I went to get my rental it could have needed in a nightmare and lost income. But the staff, manager and the DM (I believe) were awesome and really went above and beyond helping me out and working to distance my account from the family that made the violation. It doesn't seem like a big deal but it means everything to me while I'm starting this small biz. I will stay committed to U-Haul and especially the South Rd location. The crew here ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had 2 appointments for a trailer hitch cancelled after driving an hour to get there. After the first rescheduled and was told to be there at 8 am arrived early and was told the installer was not there, Got a refund and will never do business with you again ever

If you need the truck for 4 more hours they charge you for a full day . I said ok I'll keep it another 24 hours they said someone is picking it at 6:30 so they got paid twice in one day for the same truck … there was nothing they can do it policy.. bull it's double dipping 

The 24 hr return process is not easy. It took us a half hr to get signed in. The sales person did not tell us we had to set up an account to return the truck. just told me to sign in .

I rented a trailer (6Ã-12) and was expecting just that. When I rented the trailer I made it a point to asked and employees to confirme the dimensions and ramp opening need for clearance and what I was using it for a utv off road vehicle. After I picked up the trailer and drove over an hour just to find that the ramp/door was too narrow from what I was told it was about 12 inches narrower then told . I returned to the dealer and explained my situation- it was determined that a mistake was made and after reviewing again they suggested a vehicle hauler - which I walked out and measured and it was ok but!!! They told me none of the haulers were in service and nothing else was available- so I returned the first trailer expecting a full refund and was denied because they needed manager approval was needed and none was available. So I found a uhaul dealer in Middletown that had one and I rented and picked up this morning. I certainly feel I should be refunded the first rental and compensated for the second for obvious reasons. The second rental ref # is 23216327 - I'd like to mention that all of the employees were very professional- it was a mistake that should be acknowledged and addressed but not a reflection on them as individuals. I just want uhaul to take responsibility for a mistake and move on please.

I rented a pickup truck and motorcycle trailer. When I returned back to my house to unload the motorcycle I was hauling, I saw that the trailer hitch was not attached to the truck. The hitch is two part; one bolts to the truck and the other slides in with the hitch ball. The pin that held them together apparently came out at some time. Perhaps the cotter pin was not in correct. This should be looked into. And any renter should check the rig themselves also!

Jenifer‘s customer service is absolutely amazing customer service is outstanding. I wish everyone in that store could have customer service like Jennifer. The manner in which I was talk to on Thursday is terrible Jenifer was out it was her day off but there was someone else that answered the phone and when I asked to speak to a supervisor she hung up and called me back and then pretended to be a supervisor to me customer service matters a lot never know what a person is going maybe the other work is there need to be trained by Jennerfer because as I stated before she is absolutely amazing

We were unable to connect to login to the walk around app. When we got in the truck the gas gaugewas between 1/8 snd almost on empty. We went back in to tell the kid at the desk he said don't worry about it just bring it back the way it is. We drove 32 miles and put $15 worth of gas in the tank and we got charge $25 for not filling up the tank. The other problem was we were supposed to have the truck from 830 on for four hours. Because of traffic we were delayed and didn't get there till almost 930. When the young kid Checked us in he said have the truck back by 1:30. That would've made it four hours as I asked for. We had the truck back by 1:30 But when I walked in the girl told me the truck was due back at 12:30 and they were going to charge me for another day
