staff was friendly at pickup and dropoff truck had blankets laying everywhere in the back, which was not a huge deal got charged for SafeMove which is $42.00 even though I did not sign up for it, and was told no credit can be given when I followed up via phone.

The whole experience was very pleasant. There were 2 minor hiccups though. 1- there were 2 different location pickups for the rental on my confirmation which was completely different than the one I was given when I placed my order. The good thing was it took only 1 phone call and a short conversation to sort it out. 2- the back of the truck reeked of marijuana when I picked it up. Was disappointed they didn't leave any for me….lol. But seriously, another client might not have taken it as well as I did. Overall a great experience.

I was renting a van. The van initially presented to me had garbage in the back, and a broken liquor bottle in the passenger area. This van should not have been offered like this. Once pointed out, the rep did give me another.

I used to work for a competitor truck rental company years ago and haven't had the need to rent a truck in many years. I went to pick this truck up and was very surprised at the new rental procedures that are used. DO NOT like the whole phone check out thing. Basically it's like, "Here's your key, truck is outside, go on the link and check in. Good Luck" . The inside windshield had such a film of dirt on it that once I hit the sun, I could barely see out of it. No direction on how to use anything in the truck, and I live in an area of the country that has parkways. Commercial vehicles ARE NOT allowed on parkways. I knew this but you would think the rental agent would tell you, or at the very least, ask you where you're going and tell you to avoid the parkways. Not impressed by the service at all, sorry to say.

Did not honor my reservation made online for a 2 day rentaland was told by staff that that reservations did not matter and if I had a pertinent with that I should call customer service. I called customer service and was told reservations can be misleading and they would not help me. Will never use this company again.

I had the 12 foot trailer for a round trip from NY to VA moving furniture, towing it with a Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado with a 5000 lb. hitch. I had no trouble whatsoever except it takes longer because of the reduced speed (55 mph) . I did the round trip instead of one way because it cost half as much. The U-Haul movers that I had to ask for at the last moment (after people I thought I had lined up scampered) were excellent.

It was not installed properly. My rear left lights don't work. Went back to check - said it was a light bulb issue. Went to dealer and showed me the part uhaul installed where wire doesn't even fit dockets. Please remove hitch & refund.

Absolutely no room leg. Unfortunately, my husband who is 5'11 had to drive unable to move his right((disabled) leg. This was due to the face that there was no way to push abck the seat. It hit the back of the cab.

The guy that waited on me was very rude and had a problem explaining why things were needed. I've never rented a truck before so I was trying to understand the process. All I needed the truck for was a few hours to move some furniture. I would not tell my friends and would think twice before I rented from there again.

The young man taking care of my purchase just didn't seem to care. The other employees had to find him and have him come to the counter with a long line of customers. I felt that I was a problem to his day. I rented an open trailer pulled by my vehicle. During the install of the trailer he never tightened down the hitch to my truck. As I went down the road in heavy traffic the trailer came off an flipped on its side and I dragged it to the side of the road. I was lucky enough not to hit any other vehicles and no damage to my own truck., However my wife and I had to jump out in traffic then flip and attach the trailer to my truck. Very scary situation. 😡 He was more concerned with his COVID safety than securing the trailer. I am vaccinated and was wearing a mask.. I was charged for the use of the trailer…

Got assigned a vehicle with improper mileage recorded and no instructions at check in by the attendant. This resulted in a 2hr local rental (20mi) being logged as traveling more than 2000miles !! 😮Imagine the consternation upon check out! Fortunately the uHaul folks were good to their word and corrected the issue and charged me appropriately. For this I am thankful. I would suggest better training of ALL personnel to ensure proper documentation and procedures are followed to avoid giving customers unnecessary heart attacks! Thanks again.

While my actual moving experience was very stressful, Amari the front desk representative at the Poughkeepsie South rd location made it seamless to get the truck, answered all of my questions, and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. Hope he gets the raise he deserves :) would recommend this location for future moving needs.

Truck had an empty battery. Right after loading when ready to go truck wouldn't start because of no battery. Ended up losing over 1,5 hrs which resulted to other problems

Very rude staff, I have met at least five different staff at this location several times and none of them seem to be interested in customer service. They don't care about anything, don't listen to your request, and talk over you at most times. You can barely explain or request anything and they seem irritated most times. They leave the desk for something else when the customer is being served and frequently check the phone while a customer is waiting. If you ask them something, they feel unhappy and upset. They do not feel like working or underpaid or don't want to work at all or got used to not working and getting paid. I am not sure. Stay away from this place, if there is any other option.

Upon walking into the store ,the employee, she was a woman with beautiful very long dreadlocked hair, was extremely rude. She had her back to me and didn't even turn around to greet me. Told me “I'll be right with you” as she walked away. She went to the back room where her and another employee, a man were arguing using profanity. I waited 5 minutes before I knocked on the back room door. I was pressed for time myself due to the rain that day. After I knocked, they continued arguing. When she did come out again, instead of apologizing or having any kind of good customer service, she tells me “ I TOLD YOU, Id be right back!'. I didn't respond or engage because again I was in a hurry. I tell her I was there to get the key for the van I purchased online. She doesn't speak at all, doesn't look at my face not one time. I had my phone out and open to show her the purchase code and she didn't even look at that. Then she went to the wall grabbed the key and put the keys on the counter. There was another customer behind me. The second she put the key down on the counter she greets the next customer “can I help you?” Still not saying anything to me and rushing me out of the way. I understand maybe she was having a bad day especially if she had to argue with her coworker like that but that's no reason to treat customers that way. I thought I'd I gave time her attitude would calm down but no time during our interaction did it. So for this reason I won't be renting anymore uhauls from this location. I remember the last time before this was not pleasant either.

Initial install was mistakenly scheduled not where I wanted but at a location 50 miles away in another state. Reschedule caused 2 week delay. unorthodox customer service, I was contacted not by business phone number but by employee' personal phone to change installation dates. 3 week delay due to missing parts. On day of install, attaching a trailer hitch took over 4 hours. Sorry guys, but this is not what I expected from Uhaul

Poor costumer service , employees wanted to charge a cleaning fee until manager came out and laughed due to the U-Haul being clean. Disrespect and wasted time for this U-Haul company as I have used U-Haul plenty of times in the military and business. Teach your employees respect and how to talk to customers either new or future. They never know who they are speaking to from a no one to a business owner who uses this company often until now.

There was confusion between the 1-800 Central Line for UHaul and this location - through no fault of this location. We booked through the main line of Uhaul; off the website for a guaranteed truck, paid more and then three days before recieved a call from this location trying to determine if we truly needed the truck - and yes we did. Thank goodness they called, as we would have gone to the location we were told to go initially - Urban Beverages. They were as confused as we were. We got it clarified and it worked out fine. The staff was very nice and very patient. This location was not the easiest for us, as we really wanted something closer to the move location, but no trucks could be guaranteed for any of those locations, which is why we used this one - per the Main UHaul rep we originally spoke with - and we needed a guaranteed truck.

Jennifer is the backbone of this store. While we were waiting in the accumulating line, a nasty rude customer came in and was going off on “how terrible the customer service is” It's the freaking end of the world out here. Employers literally cannot keep employees to save their life. It's so annoying that people are so selfish and inconsiderate especially in a time like this. She was a complete patient angle with the customers. She brushed that interaction off and added a smile. I hope you guys really appreciate that amazing woman.

Pickup personnel were helpful but it seems the computer system is either outdated or just confusing (for the employee). The return personnel simply took the vehicle and said I was all set. Then, I was charged for gas that I had already topped off last the original level. Oh, and perhaps your employees can refrain from smoking marijuana while on the premises (outside against the building). I'm sure it's a stressful job but I don't need an impaired person to deal with. Gracias.

I made an on line reservation with a Wrong date. When I tried to cancel it the 800 number prompts told me to use. MyUHaul.com. There is No Such website. The Poughkeepsie u haul location was able to cancel it for me . I had to call their local number to actually speak with a real person..

I had a hitch installation appointment that they never called to let me know that they did not have a hitch or an installation guy there on Sunday. I had a 9 AM appointment, no one opened the door until 9:15 AM. When I came back to drop off the truck for the appointment the next time, they had already had the door locked 15 minutes before closing time. When I came back to pay for the hitch the next day, they had already put the cash drawer away an hour before closing! The cash out process was very long. Poor customer service in general. They constantly complained about how long they had been working that day while taking a personal phone call during a customers check out. They do not seem happy to be working in customer service. I would never do business with that location again... or uhaul in general. This was the worst experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone for hitch installation.

The engine light was on but the initial “self-inspection” they had me do never told me to turn the car on. Also the odometer need a decimal place because I had a number a miles to drive and the second I went off the lot the odometer went up a mile clearly meaning it was at (xxxxx.9) but of course now that's one less mile I paid for but don't get to use.

I called this location to dispute the cleaning fee applied to my bill. I rented a truck and swept the bed clean after using it. I did not wash the bed but it was swept clean. Yet I was billed. So I challenged the charge with the location and they said it wasn't clean. Define CLEAN? It was swept, not washed. Am I also suppose to vacuum and wipe down the interior?

I was given a 10 foot box truck the Tire Pressure Monitoring light was on. I asked Natasha to put in writing that I was not responsible for the light ,and she refused and was very rude about it. Bad customer service. And vehicles should not be released with mechanical issues no matter how minor.
