This vehicle should of never been let back on the road. The passenger side rear view mirror was broken, it was held together with duct tape, I couldnt adjust it so I was blind on the left side. The air conditioning didnt work and the gas tank didnt have the right amount of gas, I couldnt get the phone app to work so gave up and just payed 12 dollars to fill it back to the level you guys said it was at which it wasnt. The people in the store itself were nice. This is the first time i've been unhappy at this location and hope its just a one time thing. I'll still use this location.

I have been a Uhaul customer For long time ( 25 Years ) Never used any other company like Penske or any other truck rentals September 12th 2019 Contract No : 97568318 I went to your store 2560 South Road Poughkeepsie NY 12603 After standing on the line when our turn came We got a lady name “Laryssa” She was so rude and rough I don’t not know why uhaul hired her ? to keep the customer or chase out customer and stop doing business with Uhaul . In 5/6 minutes transactions she tell us few times that she is not going to rent us the van like she is the owner of it !!!! Just because we did not understand some of the terms and conditions and we ask her twice Since we are seniors my husband is 65 and I am 55 years old with disabilities. She took 3 sets of name and cell phone numbers ( she verified) To rent one van what happens to people who don’t have friends or family We had credit card we have valid driver licence and top of that we have really hight credit rating So that means we are very responsible persons. She tried to give us as much trouble as possible She told me to check the van condition online. I did not have internet in my phone. To do a manual check up she made me stand for another half and hour Luckily my husband got internet back on his phone and we could do the walk through process online I asked her what happened if any customer do not have smart phone She said 100 percent of your customers have smartphones and they do walk through process on the phone. I think looking at the data that is absurd not possible I always have very present experience with Uhaul store before and next day when I went to return the Van a guy name Tyler help me and he was awesome I got the same present service back that means its just the one person polluting your store. May be she is racist or some other personal issue she has. Later I came to know she was a manager she should not be since she is a waste person and no clue about customer service at all Not capable of act normal behavior among regular people. Hope you take an action on my complaint Thanks Bibi Dhar

1- UHAUL is responsible for making UHAUL equipment work with industry standard equipment, this INCLUDES adapting a 4-flat to a 7-round if the tow vehicle is so equipped. This DOES NOT mean forcing the renter to buy a $15 adapter that can be found elsewhere for $6. 2- the staff was rude and unhelpful. No confirmation before doing anything, then it was somehow my fault when the contract was for the WRONG equipment?? 3- UHaul had to call a second contact to rent to me, and because it was in the middle of a WORK DAY and my friends, um, work, I had to have the UHaul rep call my mom? Really? I am a 45 year old man with excellent credit, a past customer of THIS location, and wealthy enough to BUY THE STORE (something I left out at the point of sale). And you had to call my mom? WTF? I was so embarrassed. 4- Given the attitude I was given, the customer service lady that rented the equipment to me needs fired on the spot for her inability to deal with a customer. 5- I was asked to verify the extensive damage on the trailer with 4 blurry pictures on my phone which was almost dead from the day's use. Really? Ok. $8 for insurance. Cah-ching for UHaul. The trailer, as I found out as soon as I had my load it in, has a bent axle or bad bearings, and wagged the tail badly over 40MPH. 41 miles w/ a load on an interstate at 55 MPH... 45 minutes., 35 MPH and local roads, 2 HOURS! Being on the interstate was simply unsafe. Using that trailer was unsafe. The trailer was loaded properly (60/40, centered side to side). I've been towing regularly for 20 years. 6- Side marker lights were out on drivers side. I pointed this out to the rude lady, she said not to worry about. I was now up against my deadline for pickup of my cargo, so I had no option to refuse to take the trailer. Because the ride home took 2 HOURS, I was now driving a trailer w/out side markers IN THE DARK. If I could have used the highway, I would have been done before dark. 7- UHaul is lucky I didn't get a traffic ticket, that would have surely ended up w/ UHaul in court being sued. UHAUL has lost this customer for life. My friends too. UHaul should really consider its policies, guidelines and practices and retrain/replace staff at this location (Rt 9 / Poughkeepsie).

I’m not sure. Because the man who checked us out initially stressed me out so much that by the time I was taking pictures of the van prior to taking the truck, I was a mess. His name was Ernesto. (Hadn’t planned on telling you, but since you asked...) He was awful. But a young man named Ry... (darn, I don’t remember his name, It started with an R) answered all of my questions in a professional manner. He was very helpful. I even told the manager about him. The truck was filthy on the outside of the cab- splashes of coffee, etc. but that’s no big deal, and we did bump into a telephone pole “footstand” thing and made a scrape,backing out of the driveway. We called right away to inform the company. Everyone upon bringing back the truck was wonderful. The day I rented it, I was saying, “I’ll never rent from UHaul again, I’ll go to Craigslist and rent a truck.” But that is all only due to Ernest’s lack of courtesy, caring in general, and he even walked away twice and disappeared in the middle of our first visit- not helpful at all. And when he even DID answer any of our questions it was as if he didn’t care if I rented it or not. I was getting so frustrated, and wished I’d gotten in the other spot at the counter where I could see there was someone who cared there. I don’t usually call people out, but he needs to be trained in how to deal with people. Especially with me, as I know I am super nice to anyone and just wanted to rent a truck. I’m sorry, but he does need to change the way he deals with customers. The tall black man (young man) whose name started with R, even came outside to help and explained everything to us. That’s all I have to say... I was very frustrated the day I was at the counter, but everyone else upon bringing the truck back restored my faith in UHaul, and that facility in general. Thank you for giving me the chance to tell you.

My original reservation was to rent a trailer. My Jeep has a trailer hitch. I called customer service the night before I picked up my rental and confirmed the U-Haul location will do the electrical harness installation. My understanding from the call was that U-Haul will do the electrical harness installations and that the cost was about $60. I thought that I would show up to the rental location and they would install the electrical harness and I would take the trailer. When I arrived the counter rep said no you have to make an appointment in advance of the rental to get the harness installed. I was stunned. The customer service rep from the night before did not tell me this and if I’m not mistaken no where at the U-Haul sight does it state that you have to have an electrical harness Pre installed in order to rent a trailer. The counter rep was helpful and I ended up having to rent a 20foot truck at a considerably greater expense. If the wiring harness requirement is detailed at your site and I did not see it. My mistake. If it’s not please update your site so this information is very easy to see. U-Haul seems very tech savvy and your systems seem to work really well. But I was truly flabbergasted to learn that the trailer wiring could not be installed at the time of the rental. I even said to the customer service rep on the phone. “I’m sure im not the only person who has shown up at a U-Haul and needs to have the wiring harness installed”. I really think U-Haul should reimburse me for the incremental cost of the truck rental plus $30 gas. I just went to the site and I don’t see any mention that vehicles must arrive with the wiring harness preinstalled. Having said all this the reps at the U-Haul location were all very professional and did a great job. I’ll call today to make an appointment to get the wiring harness installed as I’ll boson need to rent a trailer again. Good Day.

The trailer was damaged when I picked it up. Staff was excellent though. Driving down the road it rode terrible. I thought something was wrong with my truck and had to stay way under the speed limit. It was a scary experience I have rented many trailers from uhaul but this was a terrible ride.When I went in for return two hours early! Nobody was inside and there was a line. Guy comes in says cant help you it's my second day you have to wait. After waiting a few minutes second guy comes in says "hey I'm only one guy" I explain to him that my card was charged already the full amount when I picked it up he says no that's a hold do you authorize me to charge your card I said no. We went outside and I left the transport.

I NEVER USED IT TO TOW MY CAR BECAUSE IT'S UNSAFE TO TOW. THE TRUCK BRAKES WERE SEQUEKING AND THW TOWING TRAILER HAS A BAD BEARING IT WAS VERY HOT SO I RETURNED THEM AND I WAS HOPING THAT CAN EXCHANG THEM BUT THE STORE WAS CLOSE

I am torn about how to fill out this survey - I feel the questions you are asking are not reflective of my experience. The 'location' is fine, it only does U-haul, that is why my wife and I decided to go there (for the third time) instead of a closer gas station that happens to rent trucks on the side. That said, we had a very horrible experience that makes us question if we would ever use U-Haul again. We reserved a 15 foot truck over two weeks before we needed it, knowing that it would be a popular time for renting - it being the end of the month on a weekend. We put our reservation in well in advance. When we arrived, there were no trucks available. We were told that maybe a truck would be in around 4:00pm, but that we would have to return it that evening - so it could be available for the next person who wanted it. They weren't as concerned that we had no truck waiting for us... they said we could drive 45 minutes in the opposite direction to pick up another truck there... we eventually decided that our only viable option was to take a van, which meant that we had to do about five trips (paying for the miles each way) instead of one. That was not how we wanted to do our move - we had expected to load up a truck and move, as we had reserved. the staff were nice and understanding, I understand that if there are no trucks, there isn't much they can do. The manager was not good at working with the public (there was another person who came in after us who had the same situation) she was very matter of fact and did not express any sympathy or understanding. Her attitude only made, and already unpleasant situation worse. In the end, we accomplished our move - but it was not the experience we were expecting to have, especially going to the U-Haul only site. This was why we made our reservation ahead of time, to eliminate such experiences. so, yes, the van was clean - but the experience was horrible.

Marcello and the other gentleman working the shift with him—I forgot his name, I apologize—were fantastic. The store was busy but they were patient and attentive to everyone and made sure our moving needs were met. Thank you for making a stressful morning very easy.
