make sure the paper work agrees with the fuel level. I brought the van back at the same fuel level i took it out, but i notice the receipt indicated the fuel level was higher than the fuel gage. I was charge an additional $14.40 for 2 gallons. I put in 3 gallons before returning the van for only. My total mileage was 45 miles.

Customer service was fine other than it took a while to get a truck due to the fact that the fuel lines were cut on the first few trucks I was assigned. Not sure how you guys can solve that problem but the service was fine

I picked the truck up on absolute empty. I told the associate and he said there was nothing he could do and to go to gas station. The truck died twice and literally had to roll into a gas station 3 blocks away in NEUTRAL! The "very low tank" sensor was going off and truck continued to die. I'm lucky I made it just 3 blocks. This is unacceptable. I was really shocked that I had to take the truck like that.

The only issue is that you need a physical credit or debit card. It would be more convenient if you were able to scan a card or accept a picture of the card. That way people aren't t stuck trying ti make it all work when they could be easily in and out with a more up to date system.

The vehicle was clean inside and out, the only annoyance is the shift lever has a lot of slop, making it difficult to go into reverse unless I went into park and very carefully pulled into Reverse, otherwise I'd end in neutral and have to start over, luckily my journey required minimal reversing.

Uhaul was dirty/crusty inside the cab. First time renting uhaul truck. Was not told that I need to purchase a lock for the trailer to make sure property was secure. Drop off location 1625 McHenry Modesto, CA Manager onsite and customer service rep were rude the minute I walked in the door. My son and I were Not greeted when We walked in the door. They were having a conversation with each other when I walked in and I had to wait until they were done talking to each other before I was acknowledged. I advised them I paid cash deposit of $100 at the pick up site at Jackson Street in Hayward CA and provided my uhaul receipt showing the cash deposit was accepted. Manager said that they don't accept cash deposits it's against their policy. I told him that's none of my business and that he needs to follow up with the other site and tell them company policies not me the customer. Manager leaves me at the customer desk for 10 minutes and gets on the phone with Hayward location to confirm I gave $100 cash. Manager comes back to me and says that I have 2 options either get a check for deposit and I would receive the check in 2 weeks or go next store to another uhaul location on McHenry and they have cash. He wasted 15 minutes of my time waiting at the desk.

I think its unfair if we come back with 1/4 tank more of gas you should give the truck rental free. That's 20.00 we return the truck with 1/2 a tank because thats what the girl at the counter told us we had to have. But the truck only had 1/4 tank of gas.I think you should refund the rental amount. Since you also charge mileage.

I got there early before opening. The line was really long and even though there were employees walking around there were only two working the cash registers. It took over 45 minutes before I could get the van and go. My workers had to wait around for me to get back with the van and I had to pay them from the time I told them to meet me and not the time I actually arrived. It would be great if they could have all the cashiers working all the registers.

uhaul.com was completely useless. Both arriving and departing. It didnt work at all. I kept getting error messages (memory too low. cannot complete the process). Called customer service but there was a 45 to 60 min response time. I would not say that was good customer service.

The U-Haul BROKE DOWN in the middle of the trip. We loaded it up and the battery was totally dead even though the car was off. It took us more than 4 hours more than intended even though the towing guy was helpful. Never renting from U-Haul again. STAY AWAY.

I tried to do my pick up through the website and it was a massive waste of time. I'll never use it again. The website showed a brand new, clean, undamaged van. It took me an hour to identify damage and update your photos. I had to remove someone else's garbage from the van. The employees seemed inconvenienced when i asked them to help with anything. I ended up having to complete my pick up at the desk because the website operations were failing and the fuel level was inaccurate. Upon returning, the fuel gauge wouldn't move until i had way overshot the amount of fuel i had to put in by about $25 and uhaul was only willing to reimburse me for $15. Good scam. Why don't you just fill up the tank so we don't have to play a guessing game? I'll be working harder to get a friend with a truck next time.

No terms or service was provided to me before the rental. It was my first time using U-Haul service and I didn't know I won't be able to add insurance afterwards. There should be an agreement form of some kind before lending the vehicle over and explanation; especially if there is some litigation liability involved. The workers were fine at this location, but shame on the company for not providing that information prior.

When I picked up the truck the gas tank was empty. The display indicated 3 mile until the gas was gone. As soon as I put it in drive it dropped to 2 miles. This forced me to go to a gas station as close as possible and pay much higher rates for gas and considering the gas prices are at extreme highs that was a major inconvenience. To add to that I had to try to figure how much gas I would use in advance in a vehicle I had never driven before going to a place I had never gone before. This made me late to meet the person waiting for me to purchase the washer. This also caused me to have to go to the gas station more than once which added mileage on and time onto my trip. I also ended up returning the truck with more gas than I picked it up with because guessing in a vehicle I had never driven before was extremely difficult. I am sure the business loves this tactic as they make more money off their customers not only in mileage but also in free gas. But it is taking advantage of your customers. I am a single mother of 5. I was hit extremely hard by the covid pandemic. Making an already difficult situation even tougher. I rented this truck because our washer gave out and I had no help financially or physically to get a washer. I found a used one online and needed the truck to pick it up. I was barely able to afford the washer. Being nickel and dimed by the uhaul company felt like such an insult to injury on an already tight budget.

I called in after i had made a reservation to see if the trailer came with tie down straps and spoke to Megan and she said yes that all the trailers come with everything to tie down . When i get the trailer and Marleti Flores says your ready to go i asked her about the tie down straps and she said that they don't come with the trailer that i would have to buy them and i told her that i called after i had made the reservation and spoke to Megan and she said that they came with tie down straps and she said nobody by the name of Megan works there and that if they don't pick up the call gets routed to somewhere else but I'm sorry they don't come with Tie Down Straps . Luckily I had some tie down straps if not i would of had to buy some . If in one area they provide the tie down straps with the trailers then all the areas should provide tie down straps not just in that one area .

We had to return the first truck we were given because it had the check engine light on and over heated after going only a mile away. Returning the truck after hours using the website was not easy. The wait times on support line help either chat or phone was extremely long.
