I would actually not recommend anyone use U-Haul ever again because of the requirement to upload pictures of a drivers license. That is so extremely NOT secure! I also question the legality of it. The staff at the location (who were very friendly and helpful, btw) know it's wrong but are afraid to say anything to corporate for fear of losing their jobs.

William the manager, was very rude to me. It was the worst experience for me as far as moving. He cracked jokes at my expense in front of other customers. And when I went to park my car and returned, there was a lady ahead of me and he was very nice, respectful and polite to her. When I found out that he was the manager, I was in disbelief !! Unprofessional and unwelcoming to me .

Rude, not personable, seemed like they didn't want to bothered, unfriendly demeanor by staff at this location. Also was given false wrong information over phone by representative about being able to park my car on site at location for few hours until I returned rental van. Was not the case and colleague at store basically told me oh well figure it out. Very poor customer service

Renting the vehicle was slow event although I had registered online with express checkin. Upon returning the vehicle, I had to leave the vehicle without being checked out. It took a few hours for the check out to occur but left me uncomfortable with the notion that I had to leave a vehicle with no evidence that I had returned the vehicle. Staff were friendly. it was very annoying that every time we entered the facility a throng of undocumented workers descended on our vehicles apparently to offer their services as day labor.

The only reason I did not rate this location overall as "excellent" is because we did not realize that we could not leave our car at the location. Staff noted that many people take cab service to the location, but we did not know, and thus we had to find a place to put our car. The staff may wish to note that, depending on the day and the amount of time that the rental van will be needed, parking in the neighborhoods may be available (which we did, on a Sunday).

As a military family we have moved over 23 different times. EACH TIME we have chosen uhaul and its services to move. This time completly changed that for our family. The store manager "helped" us himself and it was such piss poor customer service. Between complaining about having to work on NYE to being upset at the fact that i had TWO QUESTIONS i was left in awe. GHETTO does not even begin to describe the type of service i received. I wish i had a way to get my money back. MY HARD EARNED MONEY>

The truck only had 1/4 tank of gas to start, which is too little and required me to gas up before moving and guess at how much I would need. A half tank should be a minimum.

the gentleman that seemed to be the manager as well as the one getting the equipment assigned and turned back in, was to be highly complimented. I think it was he and someone answering phones, and he handled everything smooth and pleasantly. He is very helpful and accommodating and actually had to come up to help the desk person enter orders properly.

I walked in and was lucky be given a pick up. I preferred a van but the person in the counter said all vans and trucks outside are already reserved. When I returned the pick up I rented at closing time non of the vans and trucks outside moved from where they were. Not happy with the experience totally. Also I had to ask or initiate the person at the counter if he can serve me since he has no customer already. Not customer friendly at all.

When a customer reserves online and chooses how many miles they estimate they will travel, please DO NOT tell me to add more mileage due to fraud situations that have been happening with your company. Whatever mileage the customer says should be fine and be charged their EXACT mileage when the truck is returned. I rent trucks from several locations and this is the first time an employee told me to add more than MY estimated mileage due to other customers that have had their credit cards declined upon return. Will not rent here again.

Very poorly maintained truck. Never easy for anyone who drives it.

Overall it was a positive experience, however, the "online" rental is not really online. They told me that the system should have sent me a text to provide data for a double-verification, but that did not happen. So, I had to wait for a rep. to help out with such verification, uploading my driver's license and signing the contract. The Van was great. It was new with only 2,700 miles and kept in great condition. Returning the Van using the "Online" return was OK. What was not expected is that the charges were wrong. I had to be aware and not just click quickly to avoid being charged double.Sent a request to review the account and got an email with the correct charges 48 hours later.

1. People were super nice and helpful -- most important to me. 2. UHaul changed pick-up locations without telling me. If not for #1, I would have been livid. 3. Tire sensor didn't work; Overuse of perfume in cleaning meant I had to leave windows open for an hour before driving. 4. Gas was 3/8 not 1/2 full 5. Staff were a bit nonchalant about rules. When I asked whether my 19 year-old son could drive; they said, if he has a license, he can drive and that they didn't need to see it. If this is correct, great; however, I was leery

I was frustrated with the mobile app pick up. They asked for a contact number for someone but did not explain that they would call or text from an 800 number. I went inside the customer service center a little frustrated from the experience. The guy at the desk thought it was appropriate to raise his tone of voice at me while I expressed my confusion. He said well we're in here not on the phone we didn't do it. In my opinion customer service is always priority so he needs to understand if a customer is happy, mad, upset or confused you should still greet them with a smile and be courteous.

Having to take pictures of my driver's license and texting them while I was in the Uhaul facility seemed unnecessarily complicated and annoying.

It was Saturday morning and there was only one person working, and the line took an hour. The guy who was in charge of retrieving the vehicles seemed completely clueless, he couldn't find my truck, he drove extremely fast through the parking lot and made me and several other people waiting feel unsafe. He seemed to not care about the job at all. I had made a reservation online, doing the express Check-in, thinking that would mean I WOULDN'T have to wait in a line but I had to wait for an hour.

Make sure you get the right email for the customer. I was given so much info for someone else’s reservation, including their receipt with all their personal info. I’d be absolutely furious if it was the other way around. Get your stuff together

First of all, save your future frustration/anger/hassle, and DO NOT go here - use truck rental companies such as Penske or Budget. Thank me later. I rented a 17' Uhaul from this Falls Church location at 1107 W Broad St. Falls Church, VA 22046 on 12/7/19, for 1 day for a local move. Around noon this very day, I realized that I would not be able to get the move completed to return the truck by 7 PM to a Uhaul center so, I did what any responsible person would, called Uhaul customer service and let them know of the change - that I would be done moving in that day, but I would be returning the truck around 7:30 PM instead of 7 PM. The customer service rep said that's ok, but I would be charged for a full additional day. I said ok. Then, after the move, I brought the truck to another Uhaul directly around the corner from where I moved to, still local, within 10 minutes of the other Uhaul where I picked the truck up, at approximately 7:45 PM on 12/7/19. I dropped the keys and truck off to the individual working there, at 8217 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182. He took the keys, and I said is there anything else I need to do, and he said "No", you are good to go. So I left, and figured everything was fine, since I had called customer service and let them know of the change of an extra day, and that I had dropped the truck off at a Uhaul center. I assumed my journey with Uhaul was complete. Fast forward to Tuesday 12/10/19, I receive an automated text from Uhaul at 6:06 PM, stating my rental had been extended through 12/11/19. Immediately concerned, since I had returned the Uhaul to the 8217 Leesburg Pike location on 12/7/19, I called the customer service line at Uhaul. I told the initial customer service representative I had returned the Uhaul, it was not in my possession, it was at the Uhaul at 8217 Leesburg Pike, and why am I getting this text message today. She said it had not been returned, and it was not checked in, and I am still responsible for paying. I said let me speak to a manager on duty. The manager on duty was argumentative, not helpful, and said they would have to tow the truck back to the other location and I will continue to be charged if I did not pick the truck up from the Uhaul it was at and drive it to the Uhaul where I picked it up. Ridiculous! I went to the 8217 Leesburg Pike center, and spoke with the store attendant who took my keys on 12/7/19, and he pointed to the truck that was backed in, awaiting to be rented along this location's other inventory, up front, in the rows with all the other trucks. I told him I needed the keys back, and his boss said, "Oh, we can't take 17' trucks here." I asked how come it hadn't been checked in, and they said because we can't take 17' trucks here. I said, well if you can't take 17' trucks here, why was I able to drop it off. Crickets, no response. So they gave me the keys back, and I drove the 10 minutes to the original location where I picked the truck up at 1107 W Broad St. Falls Church, VA 2

Our experience was exceptional - great staff - Patricia was super helpful & the gentleman who prepared our truck was great. One tiny item was that there was a crack in the upper passenger side of the actual moving truck that allowed some rain to drip on our stuff but overall no big deal. Thanks for your professionalism!

For such a large and busy location, the service is always friendly and helpful. It would likely speed things up is the U-Haul app informed customers of the mandatory need to upload the photos of licenses to avoid the same slowdown in the line and explanation from the associates.

We were quoted for a specific amount of miles and then told that we would not be getting that amount (only an amount that wouldn't be enough for us to get from one location to the other!). We were never given our dolly cart or furniture pads. They wouldn't give us a refund either! We asked the uhaul location that we dropped the truck off at and the manager had to teach the person at the falls church location how to do it! AND SHE STILL DID NOT FOLLOW THROUGH! Terrible customer service. I would never recommend and highly discourage anyone from using this location.

Woman at the counter,( I guess the manager), excellent customer service?? She was very busy handing all the customers. I might suggest you have more than one person working at this location though.
