Kathleen was the amazing CSR that got us setup and squared away. We had booked a reservation thru Budget for a moving truck with pick up on October 1, 2022. When we arrived to pick it up, the lady told us they didn't have a truck for us and that someone should have called me on Friday. Needless to say, we were scrambling to find another truck as we were on a deadline. We booked uhaul online for october2 and drove over to make sure they had a truck for us on Sunday. They confirmed yes, we have a truck for you tomorrow. Back to Kathleen! Sunday, we arrive to pick up the truck. Not only was Kathleen professional, she was friendly and engaging and very thorough. Not only was she able to have the truck ready for us, they had a car trailer as well! And the other CSR, Daniel, well he even hooked my car into the trailer for me! Not only did we get the trailer and truck, the truck was a bigger size than what Budget was supposed to have provided! Wait,there's more! Not only did we rent a bigger truck AND auto trailer, it came in $600 less than Budget's quote for only a smaller truck! Go U-Haul! Great pricing, fabulous customer service!Richard C.

I returned the vehicle on a Monday late morning, and the drop off location was so crowded that it was almost impossible to actually drive the vehicle into the U-Haul yard. The line at the counter was extremely long, but the customer service representative stated that drop offs just needed to leave the keys in the cab and that an email receipt would be sent, which was fine.Philip R.

I rented a truck June 2022. On day of my return, I called 800# to indicate that I had â€˜locked' the keys in the van. I was asking if there was a way to pick up a key from the location to open the door. This caused an alert to be put on my account that I had lost the keys! It turns out that I had only locked the drivers door and the passenger door was unlocked. Keys were never lost. I returned the van and closed out my rental. Two weeks later I received an email that I owe $500+. I called to find out that this had to do with the lost keys. I go to the Concord location and speak with the manager who corrects the information in the system. I no longer owe any additional money as the van was returned timely with keys in tact. I reserve a van 9/30/22, I am unable to complete my rental as I have an alert on my account. After spending 45 minutes on the phone to correct something that was corrected in June, I'm able to rent a van. This was unnecessary stress and aggravation for this rental and in June because I never said that I lost the keys. My account should've never been flagged the lost keys to begin with as they were never lost they were locked inside. They weren't even locked inside as the drivers door was the only door that was locked. Please have your systems speak to each other to avoid customers having to deal with this kind of nonsense. Very inefficient service due to poor computer skills, long wait time (waited in line 20 mins to return truck then told to just leave keys in truck and wait for e/m) and just not together. Will f'ind another u-haul site next timegeorge C.
The cargo van ran very well and it was pretty easy to drive. When I went out in the morning to use it, I noticed some engine oil or power steering fluid leeking from underneath the cargo van. So overall the van served those current needs very well.PAUL F.

I have been to this site several times. It was very chaotic when I got to the office around 9:15, but Kathleen was extremely helpful and considerate. The rest of the staff were busy keeping things moving, but Kathleen appeared to be the conductor.Kathy C.

Only thing I would suggest is when returning U-Haul during normal business hours provide customer with confirmation of return receipt immediately upon receipt of rented item. SPENT AN HOUR IN LINE FOR A RESERVATION I MADE ON LINE. STORE IS EXTREMELY DIRTY. TRUCK WAS OLD, DRIVER DOOR DID NOT SHUT WELL. ENGINE WAS VERY LOUD AND FELT LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO OVERHEAT. It was unfortunate that the day I went to rent was understaffed. The processing took too long. I was put on my honor to inspect the vehicle on my own and report any faults I found, but by the time I got home so that I could use my computer to see the link properly I was told I had run out of time and the vehicle had previous damage which made me feel uneasy. However, the lady who was in charge of renting did a remarkable job and was very nice and concerned for the customers wait. Good employees are hard to find.Thomas F.

Equipment I reserved was not available. Requested a 17' but was given a 20' with no explanation or phone call telling me this location did not have that size even though I booked way in advance. Once I got the truck, the engine light was on and when I went in to let them know, they said "all the trucks have that, it's just a sensory problem." Also, the gas light was also on, apparently that was again, a "sensory problem." Wasn't representative's fault but communication needs to be bettered and the tall tales need to stop.Lorry G.

Did not leave store until 30 minutes after rental time due to slow service. Car was returned on time but was billed for two day rental as it was not checked in at the same time. Insurance coverage for two days was added on even though I declined it on the online reservation. Still waiting for response regarding rental duration and insurance over chargers. The only issue I had was that the gas was listed as 1/4 tank when it was actually halfway between 1/4 and 1/8. I didn't have time to go back in a wait in line so I had to accept the 1/4 reading and make sure I brought I back at that level. I'm sure if I brought it back between 1/4 and 1/8, I would have been charged.Sean D.

Staff was unhelpful and largely absent. I had to search for help outside after being handed off by thee sole inside staff person. I ended up unhitching the trailer myself. The check in process was lengthy and super annoying. Oh, and the place was a mess in the garage bays and equipment area. A box truck was running in the lot with the door open and no one around it for the entire half hour I was there. Also the entrance to the lot was flanked by men sitting on the road/curb.Liz Y.

Our original request of a 6X12 trailer wasn't available but your Team recommended a van with virtually the same space to fit our needs. You gave me a truck where it was like gas was leaking out I put over $200.00 worth of gas in the truck then you charged me $587.00 I have the recent where the man made a mistake on billing and he told me to bring it back and they would fix it I went back the girl didn't even want to see it I'm fighting charges.Wannetta J.
The charge for mileage is in small print and we're not the only ones that didn't see it in the sign. It was hugely upsetting. And will result in us not coming back. The gas tank was only 1/2 full so refilling ended up costing us money because we had to guess how much and we were short by 3 gallons and had to pay extra. This is a rigged setup because if the tank started full we could have returned it full without guessing how much to put in. My husband who was driving said the truck felt like it was going to fall apart. We had a 29'. He didn't feel the staff was helpful there was no guidance whatsoever.Veronica S.

UH tried to charge me for nine gallons of gas even though I brought the truck back with twice as much gas as when I left. UH should know exactly how much gas is in the truck when I rented the truck 1) I took a picture of gas gauge upon departure and uploaded it to the website as requested and 2) UH logged the return amount of gas during the check in of the prior lessee. Also, I had to fill all four tires with air, with two being critically low where it was providing non-stop warnings in the the instrument panel. One could hardly see the mileage in instrument panel due to the almost nonstop tire warnings. This is a vehicle safety issue where UH puts me, passengers, the vehicle, and other motorists at risk due to critically low tire pressure. Finally, the actual cost of renting the truck from the website is not transparent. Not sure how you advertise for 19.99 a day when actual costs are far greater.William W.

My experience with U-haul this past Saturday afternoon (9/10/2022) in Concord, CA was just great--such an unexpectedly experience I had to note it. Late Friday I had been calling local U-Haul listings and couldn't reserve a truck at such a last minute. But somehow a Jodie in U-Haul coordination for the US (?) gave me a reservation for this near-by location, Monument Blvd. Concord, Ca, even though it was late afternoon!the next day. I arrived 20 minutes early for the reservation. The line and waiting was a bit long, but by the time each person was served, each person was pleased and all moved along well. Front desk person Kathleen was helping us and was just great! She explained everything perfectly clearly and made sure I had the proper info and what I needed and the contract...everyone working in the location worked together to make everything run smoothly. It was so simple not only to reserve and pick up the U-Haul at this location, it was also so easy to drop it off and turn it in. And for entire afternoon, it was less than $50! It was such a good customer service -- the best in months of pretty tough customer services in all industries these days--that I took the manager's card to give him a call and let him know. What a surprise when her picked up the call on a Saturday evening himself!! We talked about the experience --how I thought he must be the key to the location's service running so well (again, it was the 5th location number I's tried)-- and his long-time service with U-Haul. I just want to say thanks so much for such a positive experience (that I had been dreading) ! Thank you Jodi, Kathleen and Manager Mr. Brodee Loggins!Kim B.
