I rented a 15' truck on 5/26/21. The truck was returned the same day at the U-Haul store where it was inspected in person and I was asked to make the payment which I did. I then received another email on 6/1/21 saying I have to make a payment for a rental on 6/1/2021, which I never rented! I was also asked to pay for damages for this rental. I opened an online dispute on this and also emailed UHaul credit collection regarding this issue. I received a voicemail from Tre Redmond a few days ago saying this was an error and it will be fixed. I'm sorry but I am not satisfied with this explanation and that too over voicemail. I was under stress for 3-4 days. I need a better explanation. I reached out to U haul credit collection again via email asking for a better explanation in written form. It has been 4 days now and I have not heard back from them. This is the worst experience one can have. I had better expectations from a company like UHaul.MARJAN H.

They had the wrong mileage for gas when I started and a low tire? When I showed your employee he agreed. Then they over charged me for not putting gas back at return? So I don't know what Systums they use for that so I'm paying again for them not reading the gas right? Never will I be treated like that again after that. Rented at this location several time in the last year. Problems every time. First time the truck had a malfunction. Se on time i got charged for equipment i didnt ask for not did i have it. 15 dollars for a hand truck and a utility dolley that i didnt have. This time i had a problem with the after hour checkin process. The truck had undocumented damage and the fuel level was marked wrong. So i had to spend time taking pictures and submiting corrctions. It was dirty both outside and inside the cab and the fuel level was well below a 1/4 tank. And the steering wheel was about 30 degrees of center while driving straight. Not very easy to back up a box truck when you dont know how far your wheels have been turned. All in all it was a misrable experience. And the personel working there simply didnt care.Artur S.

The customer service reps were helpful. When I checked in I had made comments in the process and the nice person acknowledged them and assured me my concerns were taken care of. I am sorry I don't remember her name. I had intended when making my reservation to pickup via 24/7 but I must not have completed a final step as needed to wait until store opened and it was busy because of month end.JULIE ANN B.
By replacing your store manager! This passed Holiday weekend I rented two vehicles. First I reserved a pickup truck and then the morning I get there the trucks already been rented out, second the vehicle I was given cuts out on me 2 times and then leaves me stranded for over an hour. Lucky I was a Automotive Master technician for over 20 years I was able to gwt the box truck started and drove straight back to the Uhaul loction without Uhaul having to tow the box truck. So after I get the vehicle there and explain to Tre Redmond about the box truck , his first words are my trucks dont break down ! And with that same attitude gave me a different vehicle that was not clean, pet hait all inside the cab in. That vehicle was not cleaned from the previous renter and from that I felt I needed to go get tested for Covid-19 due to the fact it was that dirty ! Then 2 days later I rent my second vehicle Tre Redmond recognizes me from the other day give me my pickup truck the next following day I returned the vehicle and as I'm standing in line to return the vehicle and I come up because it's my turn in line and I'm here to tell him I'm returning my vehicle,he keys and then says I have to wait for his associate the one who's cleaning the vehicles to close my account. While i have a 3 year old waiting in the hot vehicle, because the store manager doesn't want to deal with me and he wants me to wait because of that incident on the first rental. I would ike a District or regional manager go and check the footage on the video camera and will clearly see how your store manager is handling your customer service. While the vehicle was fine, the entire process in-store to get the vehicle was very poor. The person that checked me in was not kind AT ALL. I wasn't instructed to wait INSIDE for my vehicle, so I waited OUTSIDE for quite a while thinking that the vehicle wasn't ready. Only to find that it had BEEN ready for several minutes. The paperwork said that it was over/at half a tank. I explained this when we returned. We drove a total of 4.5 miles, yet I was charged $13.50 for fuel that I didn't use. I will be calling tomorrow to dispute the extra charge.DELETRIA RENEE D.

Upon returning the truck a day early, I pulled into the returns lane, locked the cab doors and went inside. After the customer in front of me finished, I told the employee I was returning a rental. He apologized and said I could have simply left the keys in the cab and walked away! I was shocked that they did not ask my name, did not want to walk around the truck to confirm that there was no damage done, or that the fuel tank was filled to the proper amount. Still in disbelief, I handed him the key, and then did as he instructed, and walked out. Two days later we got a call asking us when we were going to return the truck??!!! HOW did they LOSE their truck? Surely they moved it out of their driveway/return lane, using the key I left them! Five minutes later we got a call back saying that they had found it -- that it had not been logged in to their system correctly. Clearly something is not right about this operation! This was NOT my first time renting a box truck - I've rented MANY in previous years -- this WAS my first time using U-Haul. It will also be my LAST. I would NOT recommend using their product for moving! The only positive thing I can say is that the seat was comfortable for a 650 mile trip, but so have been other seats in other rentals I've used.CYNTHIA H.

I the returned the uhaul and trailer on time, but they claimed their computers were "down at the moment" and assured me I would not be charged. Sure enough, the next day, I was charged $80 as a "late fee," leaving me with no money to eat. I am now in a new home and new neighborhood without any way to live, because these employees either felt like being lazy or just plain lying. Even worse, they claimed they would refund me, yet my bank has no record of a refund. So they outright STOLE money from me. Disgusting. Do not go here.Abigail S.

The truck was old, the headlights didn't work, on top of them saying there was more then a glad of tank and it wasn't. I had to go back to the location to get my refund because no one answered the phone. Never using the Washtenaw location again. Very unprofessional. Still waiting for my refund.TIARA M.

Answer the phones and don't leave customers on hold for 1/2 hr+. Don't make excuses when your other locations don't have these issues Used the boxes twice in last year same pick up and drop off Two different UHaul locations at loading locations that were pleasant experiences and everything was done according to plan both times Ypsilanti location did not run smoothly for pick up and this time was billed for extra time because,I'm not sure when we picked up and returned same day within original rental timeMarialana B.

Due to extended hold times, it was virtually impossible to connect with a person on the phone to confirm anything prior to arriving, for 2 days. My rented truck was not located where the app nor the Clerk said it was in the parking lot. When I arrived, there was confusion on what I understood and what the clerk stated for my reservation. 24 hrs vs 4 hrs. She was unapologetic and condescending. The customer service from this experience was subpar, lacking empathy and the fundamental concern of guest loyalty, satisfaction and customer appreciation. â€œPeople will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but, people will never forget how you made them feel.â€ Dr. Maya Angelou I feel like I should have used a different company and will next time!
