I was charged for fuel when I wasn't supposed to be. The fuel level according to the representative at the Madison Heights location only needed to be at 3/4 full. But I was charged for fuel. All in all a pretty poor experience.

Cab was littered with cigarette ash. No walk through of vehicle before rental was done. Dollie was already unattached and unsecured when I arrived to my move.

Have the team leader guy not lie about price. If it's 19.99 it should not become 30 dollars with taxes an pre mileage! Plus the truck had no rearview mirror

They somehow lost my first reservation. So I made a new one and picked up the rental at 9. Then I received a call two hours later asking when I was coming to get the rental. So unorganized.

I had the same agent earlier in the week when I picked up my supplies and he was very helpful. The agent was polite and stayed professional while sensing my frustration during pickup. Kudos to him. My biggest suggestion would be to have the trucks prepped and ready to go including snow removal, gas, and cleaned before pickup. The truck was not prepped and ready for use. Which didn't save us any time pre-checking in. The truck was snowed in and also behind another truck that was snowed it so both had to be cleaned off before we could even check out the truck. I thought this was strange since we had designated a pick up time. The truck has only 1/4 tank of gas. I guess I just thought I would start out with a full tank like the car rental companies do. As far as cleanliness, the truck was not clean. There was garbage left from the previous renters. I expected to start out with a clean vehicle. We were not given a demonstration on our to pull out the ramp. So when we began to load we were having difficulty getting it out so I had to watch online videos. After making sure the door was all the way up and unlatching the ramp it would only come out a few feet. By some stroke of luck and a lot of tugging we were able to get it out. But our luck was random. Perhaps it's defective and should be checked out. I thought I have pre-checked in online but I guess you can only pre-check in on a mobile device. This was confusing to me but now I understand. It would be helpful to pre-check either on a computer or a mobile device. Not sure why there's a difference. I would definitely use this location again but I would discuss my expectations prior to pick up. The truck drove wonderful and even third seat was great to have.

Nearly perfect rental experience. My car carrier could have used a wash down, but it's winter, vehicles get dirty fast, and this did not affect the utility of the trailer for my purposes. Quite happy overall.

There was a hole in the roof of the truck and the water from the ice on the top of the roof leaked all over my son's mattress. His entire mattress was so soaked that he had to sleep on the floor.

Stop nickle-and-dime-ing... Just include a 4 to 8 pin adapter or "rent" it for a few dollars. Charging $15 for one is insane for a 1 time use and really makes me not want to use uhaul again

I don't think you really need to improve at all. We had a problem returning our truck on time (several days late actually). But they worked with us and, at least on our end, things went smoothly. I am greatful for their courtesy and helpfulness!

Sat in the truck 15-20 minutes waiting for personnel to come out. Finally went inside. She did not look at the truck at all, then said she would email receipt. I did not get one. Made me nervous. Friendly though.

Would have been nice if snow were cleared off of vehicle before I got it. Otherwise it ran and worked well. Box on van was clean and neat inside.

My rental trailer had the last renter's stuff still in it. I got passed around the phone but eventually got a call back about that. Before that it took 1/2 hour to get my trailer even after it was reserved for and I had uploaded my license ahead of time. This wasn't 'wait in line time' but rather a very cumbersome computer process and the U-Haul rep did it all and then had to redo it because they had it as a one way rental when it was not. My promised refund better come through today or tomorrow or there will be future issues. Your processes are way out of date and in store procedures are not being followed.

I rented the plastic crates. I needed them to move and expected about 30 when I arrived. When I got there (with a reservation) the rep laughed and said the system is way off and that they didn’t have any and haven’t had any. She was nice but the situation wasn’t funny to me. The young lady that ended up helping was much nicer. I think she was the owners daughter or something. I pointed out that there were five or six boxes sitting against the wall and she was like ‘oh you can rent those then... okay... so I take them and load them into my car and go to another location to get more (which had them in stock). When I got home - the boxes from this location were filthy. They had animal hair and spilled liquids and GET THIS - a pair of smelly used shoes in the bottom box. The boxes are cleaned according to the site. They literally are not. I recommend that you buy plastic tubs from Lowe’s or Home Depot. It may cost a few dollars more but then you own them and they are clean AND you’ll have the number you need.

I tried using the self-check-in, but the process wouldn't go past taking a selfie for verification. I had to check-in with one of the staff inside, which wasn't a big deal, but the online check-in could use some work.
