This facility is state of the art! No matter time of day you visit or need assistance the facility is clean. GM Steve, Assistant GM Sydney along with Dave, Richard, Katie, Morgan,, Johnny, Debbie and Raquel are all awesome.
I honestly did not expect such amazing customer service. The staff was friendly, helpful, eager to help and make the process easier, gave options of storage, and has the convenience of a loading dock for heavy to boxes. Very impressed and will use again.
It was Saturday and there was a very short wait. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and took care of me quickly. Even Steve the Manager was doing whatever was necessary to help the customers. I rate this location as the best of ANY UHaul that I have ever dealt with. Impressive

Storage is more expensive here verses other places, but it was convenient to store there since we had to return the truck there and didn't have time to shop for the best deal.

We moved our storage crates from Pods to U haul. We saved almost 1/2 the cost by using u haul. Steve went out of his way to make our experience as easy as possible. Pods had unbelievable hidden charges and found out when I called to have the Pods picked up from the uhaul facility that they only picked up on certain dates and it would be almost 2 weeks until they could pick them up. I was never informed of this when I called to have Pods deliver the pods I was told to call back when we wanted the Pods picked up. Then Pods wanted to charge me for that extra time until they were picked up. They said they would credit one pod back but I had to pay the full months rent on the other pod. Steve at u haul said he would take care of everything and not to worry. Very pleased with the whole experience.
The young lady who helped me was awesome! Very friendly and helpful! Explained everything in detail and made us feel comfortable and educated about the facility. Thank you!!
Very secure storage. Clean and well maintained. Great knowing our belongings are in safe, secure, climate controlled storage units. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
I would give this facility an 8 because everything was wonderful except when it was late, like 11 p.m. I couldn't get into the building with my access card. I didnt have time to wait for the staff to come in the next day

I been very pleased with UHall storage of West Hickory.
The day I decided to move into my stuff in the unit their was some very rude people packing the freight evaluator full while I was trying to use it also!! They have the right to use it also but Damm have some respect for others!! I know we are all on a deadline but really come on people don't be so Dam rude to others!! I even asked if there was another evaluator I could use he said no so I guess I was screwed it cost me more for mileage where I rented the truck for!!! Luckily I rented the uhaul from somewhere else!! I guess you win some you lose some in the long run!!
Steve Punch and the other employers were EXTREMELY helpful during our tenure at the U Haul facility. One time, my RV’s battery was dead to the point that it couldn’t be jumped off. Steve spent an inordinate amount of time helping me get the batteries changed and getting the RV to a repair facility. I would store a vehicle there again in a “Skinny Minute!”

The people there are exceptionally friendly helpful an extremely knowledgeable.. I would not go anywhere else I had different choices but I really really like this U-Haul.. I recommend everybody go to this one

Thank you for working with me when I lost work because of the virus. I appreciate the staff very much. My only complaint is that there isn't enough help in the office when it's busy. There have been a few times there was a long wait. Other than that, it was a very good experience. Thank you so much.
I intended to keep my tailgate trailer there for a decade or more. I told management that. I Haul gave me a very small space that would not even hold a full size car for $34 per month. It was perfect and worked out great. I leave it there Jan-Aug and keep it at my house Sep-Dec. last December late in the month when I came to bring it back, a jet ski was in the spot I was paying rent for. Instead of moving the jet ski and giving my spot back, I was told to put it in a Another spot with no price change. That very month I was billed $54. I know these things happen so this time I went to see the local storage manager. He was short, somewhat rude, and frankly I could tell he did not care about my dissatisfaction. He did not want to give me much time and asked for my number which I gave it to him. He said he would look into it. Upon departing, he gave me his card and said if I do not hear from him to call him back. I told him if I did’t hear from him I would not be calling back. I own a $5B business that is the 5th largest company in NC. we have 1800 employees. We strive to give good service but sometimes we get a bad apple and We have to replace them. You have a bad apple. I am only responding to let you know, otherwise I don’t care. The rest of the staff has been amazing. I WAS a long term client

I would had rated excellent but they forgot to unlock 🔑 our unit... And unfortunately no one was there to unlock it for us..
Facility is clean and secure. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only negative was the main hallway being tiled made it difficult to wheel things on the cart because it was bumpy. Things kept shifting on the cart. The side hallways are smooth, which was great.

An excellent facility and well worth the price.
The only problem we experienced was....we rented a covered storage space with electric. The electric timer didnt work and the GFI kept tripping. We reported the issue several times but the problem continued.
We only vacated the storage area because we sold the item we had stored.
Best Uhaul Location ever. I believe it is. The 2nd biggest one in North America, a former mall. Great prices! James, the GM, is great, too! Very happy customer here!

I moved out on May 3, but you offer no pro rate on the fees. You need a grace period for the first 5 days of a month.
The first year was great but when Sal (manager) left it went downhill. Rates were increased & services provided were cut without advance notice.
Steve and the team are awesome to work with. Really appreciate their support and service!!

The facility experience overall was great. However, any time you need assistance and ring the front office, they NEVER answer and you have to end up walking back outside and all the way around to the front for any help!!

Love this Uhaul facility. Staff is always friendly and help in every way they can. The facility is always super clean including the bathrooms. I rent trucks from them often and always have had the best experience, never any issues. I have had a storage building with them for a year. Facility makes you feel safe (not saying it still does feel a bit creepy, lol) even when on one else is there because of all the security cameras and access codes. Couple of other things I really like about this facility, they supply flat push carts and a carts that looks like the lumber carts at Lowe’s (nice for moving mattress and box springs) making moving all your stuff in so much easier and less time consuming. Especially when your storage unit is on the 2nd floor! Huge freight elevator so you don’t have to make a hundred trips up and down. Multiple unloading areas and unloading docks for different size trucks you can just back right on up and unload straight off the truck no ramp required. All in all I would definitely give U-Haul Moving & Storage of West Hickory a 10 out of 10.
It would be great if the building wooden lock you out. After 10 If you are already in and have not logged out of the building. This happened to me on last week. I was getting items out of the unit and

The man in am rented a space that was already occupied. Returning with myRV there was nothing available..I was allowed to park in a back space that was impossible to fit in.
I never had any issues or concerns with this storage facility, I loved the two step security and the helpful staff, never had any doubt that my belongings were safe and in a clean environment

I cant complain about anything EXCEPT their $50!!! lock cut off fee!!! That's extremely excessive considering they do it in house! If they had a locksmith I could understand...
Might be because of unusual events but had to wait longer than normal when reserving a storage unit and have my U Pod pick up from my resistance.
So far my encounter with every single employee has been lackluster. None of the doors are ever unlocked at the proper time and every employee is slow and has no sense of urgency.
Amanda was amazing She made UHaul look good. She was able to take care of our needs despite the poor UHaul computer system. We spent 2.5 hrs getting a correct storage unit. Thanks Amanda

After we got our toyhauler out after only being inside 4 months, all the water lines had to be replaced because the mice had eaten holes in all the lines. Never again will we store there
Christine helped us measure the unit to make sure the lumber would fit. We realized the reserved one was too small. She switched us to the right size. Also helped us locate carts to unload the trailer
Customer service is exceptional. We had some minor issues with the 24-hour access which had us drive an unnecessary 5 extra miles but otherwise everything was great.

The staff, especially David, was extremely helpful. He helped us get settled in to the storage facility and checking in the truck. He help unhook and check the trailer when we first arrived.
This is the only location that I will use in Hickory. I wish other locations were as nice as here.

Sal and his crew are great, always helpful. We still have RV storage there. Very safe & secure. Needed a mount & ball for my hitch, they had it, and cheaper than Walmart! Uboxes are a great value.

Drop off location was incorrect and had not been taking uhaul returns for a long time. It took almost 40 minutes on hold with the phone to find another drop off location.
