The vehicle was clean on the outside but the inside was a little dirty. I cleaned the dash board and the rag was black. The seats had dog hair. It was the worst expensive experience I ever had; after I picked up my furniture, I didn't receive any appropriate update. I received a notification that my boxes are in the destination city one week after arrival. The rude staff in the drop off office in Fremont was not helpful at all. You don't get any useful information to help you plan for unloading . As I was told and I am quoting â€œyou just get a call 24 hrs before drop off of uboxes to let you know about what we can do for youâ€! Now good luck planning for unloading and hiring movers. I had to pay for 6 hrs of movers for a 2hr job because uhaul was not willing to give me a time for my delivery. Btw, that 24 hrs before notification is just to tell you it's morning or afternoon, it could or 12 or 4! And any time you want to beg staff for update you need to wait 30-40 minutes behind phone to basically hear from a rude representative: we got your stuff, be polite and say yes ma'am, otherwise we technically can do whatever we want to do with your schedule! It wasn't like 4-5 thousand $ service that I purchased from them; it was more like a DMV level quality of service that you spend one month of your salary on it, and you get insulted.Mohammad R.

Our truck had a check engine light on. We informed staff of this on return and we told " Oh yeah, we know about that." It was a short local move, but could have been dangerous for someone going a longer distance. Front of truck had large paint chips missing, that were not on inspection photo. Took photo of it. Better customer service, we had a nine o'clock pick-up got there was 15 people line waiting. 3 people at counter. Then 2 went to talk with a person about what they were going to do when they got done with work. They talked about 15 20 minutes. Very poor service. Took about 45 minutes to get waited on.David S.

The staff person was not very helpful upon truck return. He wouldn't help me at the counter when I entered the location. He then made me go outside to wait only to come out a few minutes later to complete the return. The return was mid-afternoon on Sunday and it was not busy at all. I was the only customer there at this time. I am not impressed with this location's customer service or staff professionalism. I would not recommend or go to this location again.HEATHER B.

I had to come to this location from Brookfield so 20 miles were just going back and forth to and from the location. I originally had New Berlin selected because Waukesha didn't have the pick up truck ( which is closer to my location). I think you should reimburse for mileage due to changing pickup locations for customers.Eenas O.

Truck box was not cleaned, I had to sweep it out. Unable to adjust side mirrors, attendant didn't have proper tool to adjust and tried using a Phillips screwdriver instead of an Allen wrench. I waited for 20 minutes for the one person to finish with the customer in front of me, was never acknowledged and other employees coming in and out from the back never filled the other 2 stations.Jim N.

Reimburse my mileage as I was scheduled to pick up on capital drive which is 1 mile from daughters apartment. However, because someone didn't return, I had to drive to West Allis and back to UW Milwaukee, racking up way more miles than I needed to..and this wasn't my problem or fault.Valerie E.

I was charged 59.90$ fee, was credited 46.66$ for that fee and was told that fee would drop off in a day or 2. No one could tell me the fee or why it was on my â€œfinal billâ€. Why would it drop off after I was charged? And why was I only refunded 46.66$ when I was charged 59.90? Seems like stealing money to me. The person I talked to on the phone didn't know what was going on and I wonder how many others have had money stolen from them because uhaul is careless ( or worse) when it comes to billing.Jesse S.

I'm really annoyed that U-Haul's policy is even if you have a reservation, storage units are first come, first serve. I had a reservation for a unit that I placed a few weeks ago and when I arrived I was told that it was given away. I then had to pay quite a bit more for a larger unit because it was the only unit available. Truly never had such a horrible experience. Truck was to be picked up at 11 am. Got there. No truck they say. I ask why. no answer. Asked about other trucks parked. Said waiting on other customers. so we tried to get another truck but they wouldn't comply. I had a reservation for my truck at 11 am. Well finally 1pm Finally got a truck. Played phone tag with the u-haul place. at one point they cancelled my reservation. While I'm still waiting for a truck. I have never been so frustrated in all my life. My storage unit got messed up twice! They said system errors. Then, I had a very poor experience with renting a uhaul. I didn't receive any indication that I needed to be there within 15mins of my pick up time. I was stuck with a uhaul that was 6' shorter and caused me to make 2 trips to move! Which equated for more mileage! They never reimbursed me for that extra mileage! That same day, I went in to pick up the uhaul, I was upset about the cancelation. I know I wasn't disrespectful to the lady, however, her husband, the GM Jose, embarrassed me in front of a line of people by yelling at me and threatening me!! I would hope this company would know having a husband and wife work together at a location can cause this exact issue to happen when things don't go exactly right. This location has made several mistakes and never once took ownership of there mishandling of my storage unit and rental issue. They just blamed the system. When you are a GM of a location, you need to conduct yourself that way! Jose definitely failed at that and caused a scene for no reason! He is a poor example of a leader. The employees at the location of the storage facility were helpful but I had to take a day off of work to drive there in person because no one ever picked up the phone at the location. Every time I called I was rerouted to an offsite customer service rep that would state they couldn't help me because they didn't have access to the accounts at a different location. Tried chatting online and was also told that only a rep at the exact location could help. Leaving messages didn't help either. I would get a voicemail with the general number to call back and no one would pick up again. Tried calling corporate and would sit on hold for 30-40 minutes at a time and then have the same experience. While the face to face employees were helpful, the experience I had moving was horrible with this company. I had to go between 3 locations to get a truck and storage facility and then the size that I ordered wasn't available even though I had paid for it online with a credit card already. Miscommunication from the company only created more issues with trying to relocate out of the area. I have driven over 200 miles extra to deal with issues from moving and using the storage facility. I rented a unit online that would be large enough for the contents of a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the facility, I was told I'd need take a cart back-and-forth to fill the unit, which I'd never had happen before. I ended up having to rent a different kind of unit I could drive up to. I reiterated that I had furniture and boxes from a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the unit, it was only big enough for a few boxes. I feel that the prices are very high. The facility hours could be an extra hour. There is never enough staff always have to wait. I ran late four important reason and when I got to the facility I wanted to make sure that I could check out before the staff left. I think they should have oh way that they can access the key and let you be able to still use it since technically it is my last day until at least 10 or 11 because technically it still is my day instead I was locked out from being able to leave and the gentleman inside the desk was not helpful to my friend who went to tell him to let us out. Luckily there was a another employee that was outside other facility that was able to access and help us leave but we still had a couple big things to pick up and we had to leave it outside of the gate because of not being able to still have access. I don't think staff should have to be there to make sure that the unit is clean if I'm paying . They should be able to clean it out the next day that should be their job. We also rented a truck at one point and it is really misleading when they say $19 and some cents for a truck but by the time you include the miles and the hassle of bringing back the truck it was not a quick drop off there is a procedure and very time-consuming I feel that it is very expensive. I guess in a time of need and no one else has a truck a person has to be convinced that this was going to be an expensive rental and realize that they have to close their eyes about the expense of the truck.
