I ordered a furniture dolly and I was not provided with it. I then had to drive back to the location to get it. I decided to get two utility dollies instead. I ended up paying for the utility follies and a furniture dolly that I did not use as well as the extra miles i drove to get something that should've been provided in the first place. I'm sure this does not happen all the time but Please make sure everything that was requested is provided upon pick up.

We moved out in November. I went in personally to let the staff know that the unit was empty. I waited while he went to the unit to confirm that it was empty and clean. He was very pleasant and said thank you, and that I had to remove the lock and take it home. Since then I have received emails and phone call saying I owe more rent. So I am assuming I moved out but nobody recorded as such on my record. The situation seems resolved....I have moved out and I have an email saying that I owe nothing.

Staff were snarky and not very client service oriented. Had issues with expired license even though MTO says valid due to COVID. Reservation was cancelled without our consent/knowledge. Also very frustrated that we had to pay a $15 charge for cleaning even though we were going to clean it out after learning this, and it didn't give us that option....

used a smaller truck to bring remaineder over, the original unit as advertised and was told would fit 2-3 bedrroom, does not ended up going to a larger unit, so moving what i brought and and this other unit, one move would of been great if the first would fit what it said. the extra time unacceptble, prom on web site anf offered in store, first month free, never received this, the person doing paper work apparently new and not done correctly, monthly debits to my credit card should happened, yesterday a email stating late 15.00 buck charge un acceptable reverse it train your staff, , other invoice for truck rental oct 21 get another email you charged me for gas yet i went and put 15 dollars in way exceeded the 3/4 tank, have that receipt unimpressed, reverse it have your dm call. train your newbie staff to be professional and not tell you one thing and it is wrong

Thanks you for the continued service, with what was provided on Nov. 7th when I was pro-active to advising when I was removing all the contents from the storage unit, then received another e-mail prior to the 13th. with a different message. The gentleman who looked after the truck rental and finalizing the paperwork was great.. Look forward to doing further business.

The check in process was really confusing and took over 40 minutes (the wait time to be served was quick, but it took over 40 minutes for me to get checked in once it was my turn). I had already reserved the type of unit I wanted online, but I still had to explain what type I wanted and answer all the questions again that I had already answered online. I thought the free month of storage that I qualified for would be tied to my account and that the staff would see that when checking me in, but I realized I had to inform them about the free month. That part’s not a fault of the staff, it’s just odd that the free month, and all the info I had entered when reserving my unit, wasn’t associated with my account when checking in. When reserving and researching online, I had read that you can make monthly payments online, but when I checked in I was told that the only ways to pay were automatic credit card payment or to come into the office to pay. Afterwords, I was able to confirm by logging into my account that I can indeed pay online monthly myself, which is great as that’s how I wanted to pay, but I was surprised that this wasn’t mentioned as an option when checking in. I understand that one staff member was new and still learning, and that it was a busy day, but even so it felt like I had to lead the check in process and remind the staff of what was needed (ie. that they would need to show me where the unit is and how to access it, picking up the lock I had purchased, etc.), based on my knowledge of having checked into a storage unit before. It was unclear when the sign up process was finished and whether I and UHaul had everything we needed in terms of documents, but I got my unit and when I checked my account online I can see the unit in my account so we must have got it all set up. The unit was not as clean as I was expecting, it had some dirt and what looked like white pillow stuffing/fluff from the last renter. A quick vacuum or sweeping prior to a new renter would go a long way. It would also be really helpful if there was a light in the unit to make it easier to see when moving in. Overall it was a confusing, long, and stressful check in process, but I eventually got access to my unit, and it was the size and type that I had reserved online.

I had booked the truck at another place first and then you called me to change the location to increase the mileage. I booked the truck from 5:30 to 9:30 pm and I dropped the truck ontime at 9:25 pm. But, you charged me around $23 for after hours service fee, but you have never told me about that when I came to take the truck. I was booked the car during its working hours but you changed the location. I need to take money back. It is not fair. The quality servvice is very very very bad. I am waiting to call me back.

Over all the truck was clean and ran good. My issue was being offered $.69 per KLM and on check out being charged by the MILE. Also I see no point in refilling the gas tank when we are already being charged mileage. $19.99 rental is misleading to say the least. Finally, I had two customer service persons helping me. One was going to charge me $.49 per KLM the other told him no, it's $.69 (weekend rate) They debated for five minutes and finally agreed on the $.69. Of course they did:) the boys need to be on the same page don't you think? It makes it look like a money grab to the customers standing in line. i would not endorse using UHaul to anyone. Sorry!

I'm a bit disappointed as I went to the location I had rented a truck from to find out they had rented it to someone else. Two hours later I did manage to get a truck at the Colby location but the initial mess up delayed me by two hours.

The truck i rented was clean and full of fuel. The inside windshield could of been clean better as it looked like there was some kind of spray on it, could of been a real pain if I was driving at night, but only had it out during the day. But other then that, the u it was very clean inside!

I don't think you could do anything per se. The two customers ahead of me, one didn't reserve a vehicle and apparently had no idea what he was going to use it for, the other did reserve on line but completely had the wrong Uhaul location. The guys were polite and sorted them out but perhaps a tag that said, ‘No idiots please' would mean I wouldn't have to wait in line behind dopes. Other than that, no complaints, went as expected.

Unfortunately this was the 2nd location we had to go to as the lst one didnt have a truck for us even though it was booked at least a week prior. .very poor management....not the 1st..actually the 3rd bad experience in the previous 3 rentals

Not really a comment on the location, or the phone based call centre that I placed my order through but on the lack of communication between the two. When I reserved a trailer through the call center, I also told the operator that I needed to buy the correct ball mount and ball for my trailer hitch in order to hook it up to my car. She assured me that she would leave a note on the order for the manager to call me to confirm that the location had these items in stock, and that she would connect with the manager directly as well. I never heard from the manager and the person I dealt with at the store said that there was no note on the order. Fortunately they had the mount and ball on hand, but only one and even then their inventory said that they didn't have any. If they didn't have those parts, I would not have been able to complete the task I needed to do on Saturday and it would have been too late to find an alternate option. I am not impressed by the lack of communication between the call center, the location, and in turn, with me.

Spent nearly 2 hour trying to get phone support then when on way back to rental location get an email receipt and was inappropriately charge for gas Most AWFUL experience in years

There was an issue where I needed to change my lock bc the key was stolen and I asked the uhaul employees if they could help. that I have no problem identifying myself that I am in fact the one who rents the unit. They said no and I had to pay over 100 dollars for a locksmith. For then later me to find out the employee at the fron desk was wrong and You do in fact help in this case with identification and signature. Thats relaly really bad.... The other issue is I keep getting letters and emails saying that I owe for the next month when in fact I have moved out of my unit last month. It seems like your system is really behind and this causes alot of uneeded stress. I called uhaul before more letters came for them to confirm there is not outstanding payment. why i am still getting a notice even sent to my emergency contact is super embarrassing and unprofessional.

My experience was greatly increased by the care of staff member Sydney Hutchison. She went above and beyond to ensure that I was well taken care of and was very knowledgeable and provided what I believe was beyond excellent customer service. She was very friendly to not only myself, but also to my wife and sister inlaw when they entered the main office to retrieve cold water for all those that were helping us to unload the truck into storage. It is staff such a Sydney that help make companies what they are. She is what made my experience what it was and why I have selected the highest rating I could. I had a fantastic experience with renting a storage locker last minute due to my university residence shutting down as a result of COVID-19. I was able to easily book it online 2 days before, and the day before I received a call to get everything set up in advance. That made check-in a breeze on the day of, and I was given a month free to help out with my unexpected moving expenses. Thank you!

I rented a room for 29 months. During this time I drove to the facility and gave them a cheque before due date and either received a receipt then or email later. On two occasions I later received a late notice in the mail which I was chocked up about and would have to make a phone call to have it Cleared up. In summing up- It worked well for me.

I wish to praise Sherry Grundstrom, the manager of U-Haul Waterloo, for her empathy in handling my move in. I was over my head in moving my boxes with the rental truck to the facility. It was backbreaking work doing it alone, the first time I had ever done such a move. I severely underestimated the time it would take and ended up unconscionably late in handing in the truck - several hours in fact. It was not lost on me that the penalties incurred from the late fees alone would amount to hundreds of dollars, dwarfing the original rental cost, which for a student represented a severe burden. I profusely apologized to Sherry, and explained my situation, and Sherry was very understanding and did the unexpected - completely canceling the late fees incurred! I was much relieved and grateful for Sherry's empathy. I recommend U-Haul to all my friends for moving and storage. Great people!
